You guys unplugged the coil packs to prime the engine but the injectors were still on and pumping fuel into the cylinders. Next time just take out the fuel pump fuse and prime the engine that way, you can keep the coil packs plugged in that way as well and you won't flood the engine with fuel. Good job on the build!
Looks like you flooded the engine with gas while priming it , that pop was the excess gas igniting, disconnect the fuel fuse next time
You guys did some grind especially in the 2nd half of the vid that engine and pulleys came together and getting in in too. Love the work

Too much compression? Maybe got released and burnt off as you drove it and all the fluids got around. Im happy to hear its good

So I’m looking to replace my N54 but I’m not sure if i am overthinking but when I put the new engine in with the new DME wouldn’t it have the Key recognition code? And car won’t start Will I have to get my key coded to new dme for it to work? That’s my biggest concern
