      Fantastic, that's great news - do you plan to get a car while you're there? If so there's a tour of Lake Garda you can check out, and don't forget to take the ferry to Malcesine for a day out - yes, you guessed it, another video.
      Take care, and have a wonderful time.
      Gary & Janis

      @@OurWorldForYou thanks for the reply! Yes, we will be flying into Bergamo and hiring a car so we can explore other areas around Lake Garda. Are there any other areas or experiences you'd recommend whilst there?
      I'll check out the other video as well 😁

    • @OurWorldForYou
      @OurWorldForYou  2 года назад +1

      Hay, no problem, we always try to reply (Although RUclips's commenting system could be better.
      Do a lap of the lake, and appreciate the differences in the mountainous north, to the relatively flat south. We didn't stop at Sirmione, it's meant to be beautiful. There's also another smaller lake you can check out, Lake Idro, which might be worth a look. It all depends on how much time you want to spend driving and how much time you want with a Limoncello spritz in your hand?
      If you want to visit any Italian churches, remember there is a dress code, shoulders and knees must be covered. Google for more information. We got caught out when we walked to the top of Santuario Di Montecastello, still we had good views over the lake.
      Some prices can be cheaper than you think. We had a wonderful meal at Hotel Ristorante le Palme, overlooking the lake, A bottle of wine, a couple of Pizza, and it didn't break the bank but created a wonderful experience.
      Have you picked your accommodation?
      You've got to be excited, it's a really cool place to visit - oh, and don't forget to watch the opening sequence of Quantum of Solace - filmed near to Limone
      Anyway, happy travels,
      Gary & Janis

      @@OurWorldForYou thank you so much for taking the time to reply. Unfortunately our schedules had to change slightly meaning we are flying into Malpensa instead of Bergamo, which makes Como the sensible option.
      Lake Garda is still on my list though and I'll be back to this video when I get to visit!

    • @OurWorldForYou
      @OurWorldForYou  2 года назад +1

      Hey, that's no problem, we've done Lake Como too, but no video I'm afraid. We stayed in Menaggio which was really nice, and hired a boat an spend a day on the lake. (They give you a book of the homes of the rich & famous for you to check out - we didn't see George Clooney though!) There is some content over on our blog ourworldforyou.com, and if you have any questions, then just shout - probably best through the website, because notifications on comments here is really poor.
      Whatever, the most important thing is create memories, I'm smiling, thinking of sipping prosecco and having lunch in the shadow of Villa del Balbianello on my birthday some seven years ago.
      Happy Travels,
      Gary & Janis

      You found an absolute gem 😍, I can understand why you head back. We had dinner at La Palme one night, it was fabulous, and not a stupid price. I don't think it'll be too long before we'll be back 🤞

      I am here now .. dis a splurge . Bonus is that the ferry to Bardolino ( next stop) is right beside this place so I don't have to lug my backpack up those steep alleys back to the bus stop

    Hi, great video! Can I ask which hotel/accommodation you stayed please? Also is it a suitable place to stay for getting around to other towns? Thank you :)

      @OurWorldForYou  2 года назад +1

      Hi Mark, we stayed at the Casa Albergo Sorriso - bit.ly/3LlwKPz A nice family run B&B, and eating out in Limone is fabulous. They had plenty of parking, and it was just a few of minutes walk to the lakeside.
      We had our own car so getting about was easy - check out Our tour of Lake Garda by car - ruclips.net/video/3yajzjp2U3c/видео.html
      Or you can jump on the ferries to get about - check out Our visit to Malcesine on Lake Garda in Northern Italy - ruclips.net/video/fID1uxbkvmc/видео.html
      Great place to visit - when are you thinking of going?
      Need any more advice, just shout.
      All the best

    I am planning to visit in November for our honeymoon, do you think it’s a good time to visit northern Italy then?

    • @OurWorldForYou
      @OurWorldForYou  2 года назад

      Hi, I would say it's starting to get a little cool then, plus there's a chance of rain. It's still a beautiful place, but best enjoyed sitting outside, enjoying the lake. I also have the fealing it is seasonal, and so you're going to be out of season, so maybe not the best time to visit.
      Whatever happen, have a great honeymoon, enjoy your travels and create great memories.

    I just dream of being here, me and my wife spent a week here in August 2018, my mother had just died in May, I'm a bit sceptical of things but as we were in the Lake swimming a pure white feather just floated between us it was my wife who asked me if I was aware of the meaning of this, but I was awe stuck when she explained, that fact that this happened in such a beautiful setting just had to mean something,, I really long to go Back there if life ever returns to normal which I doubt 😔

      What a magical experience, and I think you'll get the chance to get back there. Things will get back to, and I hate to use the phrase, a new normal, once we've had the jabs, and covid becomes just another illness rather than a pandemic that shuts the world down. Personally, I'm going to enjoy the world with a new vigor, and I'll try not to take something I love, travel, for granted again. Stay safe, stay well, and here's to a brighter future.

      Hope you made it back to or plan to go.
      I’ve just found these videos and want to go next month. Here in the UK covid has completely washed away and normality resumes.
      Top video, really feels like I’m there.

    "The view was really wonderful. Lake Garda, blue as the sky, lay before them.
    Two miles across the water were high mountains, their tops only faintly visible through the opal morning mist."

      🙏 Thanks Steve, I think that describes it well. I know they're talking about the north of Garda, because the south is quite flat - That will make the road trip around Garda video to be published soon ish.

    With all due respect, you need to re-mix the audio balance. The "background" music is too loud. It significantly distracts from the narrative and, at times, overwhelms it to the extent that I could not complete my viewing of this video.

    • @OurWorldForYou
      @OurWorldForYou  3 года назад

      Hi John, thanks for that. I have to be honest; I have struggled with that. What appears okay on my PC seems to be a little different from the final output. I'll keep working to improve, and hopefully, I'll crack it.
      Thanks for your honest & polite comment. I appreciate it.
      Thanks
      Gary
