Now, after losing my dear dad, and my hubby in hospital with complications after a small procedure went wrong, I feel the urgency brewing again. I've given myself a shake and I'm going to triple my efforts. The last 2 months have taught me, anything can and will happen. Prepare for the worst and hope for the best. X

They were protesting because about 2000 EUR per farm had been scratched in subsidies, but they weren't in the end. 3. The president of the union of farmers is a lobbyist for the conservative party and big farming corporations 4. They could just not deliver to Aldi, Lidl and the likes that keep prices low and hence cause unfair pay for farmers I'm sorry, but I don't have any understanding bone in my body, especially after looking up what German and EU subsidies some local farmers are being paid. A company that would need 50000Eur in subsidies to make an average 115000EUR... I chose to buy locally when I can, meat directly from farmers, milk, potatoes, apples as well because I want them to get the money not a supermarket, but I don't buy into their propaganda. Where is the news coverage of nurses and doctors being on strike for three months? And nurses in Germany don't make 100000 Eur a year So please take things with a grain of salt and use critical thinking skills. To me this is all about dividing society for politicians and lobbyists to divide and rule only benefiting the rich

Please buy a tarp to cover your wood for your next delivery. It is the most useful thing for keeping off the rain. I also use mine to make extra covered wood storage when the shed is full.

Organise your finances Organise your house Organise and go through your Bills, Insurance. Organise and go through and stock health issues.. Get a big paper pad. Write down what do I have already and now what do I NEED, not want, NEED.. Being organised and prepared and having information in your head with make your feel. Safe and prepared.

Our freezer is about empty with no hope of getting it refilled anytime soon. We aren't starving however, the prices just keep going up. Hopefully, things will pick up soon again.
Definitely empty out the freezer. It’s not worth the loud/ expensive generator hook up. We tried that one winter when we lost power. It was loud! Got rid of that crazy stuff and we are focusing on shelf stable planning items now. Stressless, cheap and easy.
I do have a small 7 ft freezer full of markdown meat and meat in two refrigerator freezers but I also like to keep a lot of canned beef pork chicken tuna small hams bought from the store on hand

I did my pressure canning last weekend. This weekend was putting things away in the pantry, and doing a bunch of home repair. One of these days soon I need to get to the grocery to stock up on tinned goods. (Puts on foil hat)

I stopped watching the tv news, it was too upsetting + as you said, what can I do about it. I do scan the on line headlines occasionally but seldom read the articles. Expecting a snow storm tomorrow so I am watching the weather forecast 😊.

I have a stockli dehydrator. You can prize it from my cold dead hands. Its one of the best things I have ever bought. Most things do at 80 degrees for around 12 hours,allow pieces to cool before gathering up to store. Cheese grated I think I did at 30degrees until it was hard,then cooled between kitchen towel to absorb surface oils. Store in a jar in a cold dark place. Once the pieces shrink you can move them to the lower trays. The less trays on,the quicker it is. I even dried egg on mine,but not very successful unless you have some way of reducing it to powder.
I am vacuum packing dried goods as I listen to you. I was having trouble when I took the vacuum lid off as I pulled the lid of the jar off too. I solved the problem by putting two lids on - so far so good

I am not too worried about what is going on overseas, I am more worried about fighting age men landing on our shores illegally. Something will kick off sooner or later. I think that our military are woefully understaffed and that has been due to successive governments being complacent. I must start using my dehydrator which isnt as posh as your's Karen. I have bags of chopped onions to dry too.
I've had a voucher from my local council to spend at Aldi so will be stocking up. There are some positives to being an old wrinkly ! this is a serious subject, I was very, very surprised therefore, when your latest video appeared, to see a picture of you with a huge grin on your face, I don't find this topic funny at all !
