I have a 2023 Wrangler Willys. Limited slip was standard in the rear differential. I just added a Torq Master (lunch box locker) to the front differential. The cost was $400 for the locker, plus labor at my local axle shop. The lunch box locker can be run in 4Hi or 4Low and doesn't need any wires, cables, or air lines. I refer to my Willys as "the poor man's Rubicon."
Got my 24 Willys back in October for 38 plus tax. Your videos helped a lot with negotiating. Was going to get the nighthawk and build it up, but the Willys made the most sense. Been thinking of getting the Mopar lift and I think your video just sold me. Dealership quoted me 3200 for the lift, labor, and alignment, and already have 35s from my 2 door wrangler I sold. Thanks for including closeups of that one in the vid
The white Willy with the lift & 35’s looks amazing. The only thing, it has 3.73 gear ratio which is not ideal for crawling. On 35’s minimum 4.10, preferred 4.56 ‘s.
I have a 2023 Willys Diesel. I gets 26 mpg on the highway and 22 in city and has plenty of power. People with underpowered complaints and mpg complaints should have bought the diesel.
I have a 2023 Willys and love it! Maybe it is a basic Sport model with a few upgrades, but I still love it! It's a manual, no power locks or power windows, which is what I wanted. A few upgrades planned, but nothing to serious. Love these vids, keep 'em coming!
Adding lockers and off-road makes the Willys worth considering because it is a functional trim package improving its capabilities rather than just a cosmetic trim package like Nighthawk.
I’ve been eye balling these Jeep Gladiator Willys for quite a while now , watching all of your videos and reviews . Now ya got me side tracked with a Rubicon lol 😝 But you pointed out a couple of very interesting features ( front locker and the two rear recovery hooks )
In my opinion the Willys is the happy median. Love the Mojave and Rubicon but can’t justify the extra cash for the goodies I will seldom use. Thanks for the video!
So what if you're not really into off road driving? No rock crawling or anything like that. Just basic dirt roads and snow use. Are the older willys good? I just need a small truck and love the look of the gladiator.
My 2024 Willys came with front and rear Dana 44 axles, an electronic locking rear differential (like the Mojave has) and Off Road Plus, Hill decent / accent control (works only in 4 Low cruise control 1.5 - 6 mph), regular cruise control (that works from 20 mph up in 2 and 4 high) and adaptive Cruise control (locks on the car in front and tracks at 3 different distances settings behind the car front of you)
I’d buy the Rubicon, the Willys comes with 3:73 gear ratio whereas the Rubicon has 4:10 and a front locker. I have not found a Willys package with 4:10, I’m not saying it’s not available but I haven’t found one on the lot.
I'm actually going to look at a Gladiator rubicon tomorrow for $43k , if there isn't any surprises I maybe nabbed it up. It's not a X trim but will come with spray in liner, mopar floor mats andopar headliners. The only thing I wish it would have come with is the alpine stereo system.
Another great video Jason, Thank you. I would like to see a comparison video between the Gladiator Rubicon vs Gladiator Rubicon X and get your opinion on the pro’s and con’s of each.
Can the plastic walls of the storage bin underneath the rear seat be unbolted and removed altogether? Or do they hold the weight of the rear seats? My dog gets as dirty as he can every chance he gets. It’d be good to fold up the seat part and have a big floor space for him to lay down on
I think you recapture what you paid for a rubicon when you sell it. They get way better resale value and are more highly sought after. At least that’s what I tell myself
Before all the stellantis price hike nonsense that Tavares did the wrangler and gladiator held value only beat by the last gen tacoma. There resale numbers were amazing. Still are. But jeep keeps discounting both hard at the end of the year might make it a little tougher on resale until things with jeep stabilize price wise. But with that said ram and jeep have always been excellent on resale. I've owned 8 ram and jeeps. Never lost a penny on one so far. Bought new at low price and sold for more 2 or 3 years later.
Great video, I appreciate the no nonsense review. I am leasing a 2023 "WILLYS" 4xe, and so far at just over 24K miles its been doing great. But my question remains...are these worth the long term cost of ownership? With the current issues with exploding batteris on the 4xe's, overpricing and bad build/quality are they worth it?
I think there most be some dealers that either went out of business or did dealer trades. I have seen my local dealer had a bunch of 24's sports that they did not have before. but plenty of 25 models
I keep passing this model by due to the tires. I couldn't live with how noisy they are on the road. Wish it came with A/T tires, since it is otherwise a great configuration.
After I purchased my 2022 Jeep Gladiator, found there were some issues related to the Chrysler V6 and its pledge with the “dry starts”! However, that issue was an easy fix at my experience. We pay a lot of money for the privilege of owning this vehicle. Chrysler is so cheap about building the Jeeps. They even stick $10.00 stickers on the hood of many of the models. Naming the model which for the money spent one would think the folks at Jeep would do a little better on the sticker business on the hoods. Plus the hood scoop goes nowhere. Just another cheap fixture on the hood that has no function but you as the buyer get to pay up for the model that has a nonfunctional hood scoop. As a previous owner, I found more cheap stuff that’s worth nothing but just increase the price. My Jeep, was a huge headache and I dumped the thing. Wouldn’t buy another, unless it was an older real Jeep.
I just bought a 24 Mojave.....think I have 40 miles on it so far........with the off road + button, is that something that matters more in 4wd or will it shift different in regular 2wd? Haven't really got to enjoy the truck yet so I haven't got to play yet.......been the on call guy for work for 2 weeks so this weekend I'll actually get to mess around with it....... Mine has the Falkin wildpeak A/T where my wife has a Willys Wrangler 4xe with the M/T......little jealous of her tires by the way...... Any issues with changing to M/Ts on the Mojave when that time comes? Love your vids by the way........watching you makes me feel better about trading in my F150.....was hoping I made the right choice....
@billjanda9420 offroad plus is meant for use in 4high. Never tried it in 2wd to see if it did anything or not. No problem putting upto a 35 inch tire and can do mud tires on the mojave
Forgot to note that the Willy's model does NOT have the Dana 44 Wide Front/Rear axles like the Rubicon, Mojave, or Sport w/ Max Tow, so Willy's has low payload max of 950lbs. Hence, you could carry 5 full size adults but have no payload capacity for their gear!
people just come on YT to complain cuz they are miserable....they have nowhere to go to whine Jason so they come here, lol......all the content creators get it so means your something right it changes the tranny shift points electronically just like every current transmission that has drive modes, I have it on my HD, it makes a difference...

That mopar life looks amazing and very well done. And resale vaule will be best with the mopar factory lift.
The white Willy with the lift & 35’s looks amazing. The only thing, it has 3.73 gear ratio which is not ideal for crawling. On 35’s minimum 4.10, preferred 4.56 ‘s.
sure was a sweet truck. I would of went 35x11.50s to mae it work less hard with the 3.73s
Wow! Totally agree! That white Willy’s looks incredible. I haven’t seen one with that Mopar lift!

Perfect! My buddy has the same 2023 and loves it! such a great truck.
Just got my 2024 Willy’s and I’m so happy! This past winter storm felt amazing and got for 44,000$
congrats on an amazing truck
Adding lockers and off-road makes the Willys worth considering because it is a functional trim package improving its capabilities rather than just a cosmetic trim package like Nighthawk.
Very true. I do love the nighthawk too. Perfect package for people that spend most of their time on the road

I bet many people agree with you 100% Thats why I made the video. The willys is the perfect combo for most people
So what if you're not really into off road driving? No rock crawling or anything like that. Just basic dirt roads and snow use. Are the older willys good? I just need a small truck and love the look of the gladiator.
That 37k original msrp should be the final price of those Willys. Thats why they are rotting on the lots..
I’ll take the Rubicon as well. Well done, Jason. Thanks. 👍🏻
Love the rubi.

Changing the gears is not an option in the configurator. 😟

sure does
Like to watch all your reviews on trucks. How bout doing one on the 2 door Willys with 6speed manual. Thanks
Whatchu talkin' 'bout, Willis?
RIP Gary Coleman
grew up watching him!
Always a good vid thank you. I just got a 2024 Willy’s with 456 rear feels like a little tank! Lol
Outstanding truck

Another great video Jason, Thank you.
I would like to see a comparison video between the Gladiator Rubicon vs Gladiator Rubicon X and get your opinion on the pro’s and con’s of each.
Both are great. The x has the 4 auto if you live in the snow belt areas. you an not get the 4 auto in the standard rubicon
Jason, not sure if you are aware but you can get an old phone book and put it on the drivers seat to aid in seeing over the hood scoop hahaha
😂😂
McD’s booster seat 😆
Can the plastic walls of the storage bin underneath the rear seat be unbolted and removed altogether? Or do they hold the weight of the rear seats? My dog gets as dirty as he can every chance he gets. It’d be good to fold up the seat part and have a big floor space for him to lay down on
It is removable I believe
2024 gladiator Rubicons can be bought new right now for $40,000. Some are at $38,000. Msrp at $60+
Where?
No it cant. @danav3387
Give me a link please 🙏 I’ll buy one today cash
Where??? Please share
Why is the 2025 no longer offering the manual with the V6?
They were struggling last couple years to keep the clutches from over heating and finally said forget it, were just gonna drop it.

Sport S Is Great too.
I have never seen a JTW with a color match top.
they had that in 2023 as well. My good friend has one. Color matched roof and fenders.
I think the Willys is a better package on the wrangler than on the gladiator simply because on the wrangler it comes with 4:10s instead of the 3:73s.
wonder why they just wont give is 4:10s on the willys.
My wife bought a 2024 Willys JLU so I bought a 2024 Willys JT Gladiator, so much better than my 2016 Willys JK and her 2018 Willys JKU

Can you get full-float axles on Willy’s.
I don't see anywhere in the 2025 specs that mention a "full floating Dana 44." Has this even been confirmed as a thing on the Gladiator?
@@nickh5049, I can’t find anything confirming. Seems an important option for serious off-road use.
only on the wangler not on the gladiator yet.
Jeeps aren't really my thing, so I don't know much about them, but I think I'd take a Rubicon over a willys or any other Jeep package for that matter.
love the rubi
A gearing change? Do people actually believe pushing a button swaps out the transmission?
you would be amazed with some of the thing people think or complain about on here. lol
I am planning on buying a 2025 Willys but only if I can find it barebones. I cannot afford to get a Rubicon, although is my preferred choice...
Order one ur way. Like Burger King. 👑
you can also order a bare bones one. But I bet you wont have any problems finding one.

7700 pounds

By your logic mud terrains on a Prius makes it better than a 4Runner 😂

nope best trim would be let me buy a cheap sport and let me pick rubicon's transfer case, axles, gearing and lockers....
They do! It's called a rubicon..lol
no, since they just discounted 20% of the msrp of the top Gladiators.
