24:26 To be fair, throwaway lines can say so much, like how one of the oldest episodes reveal that Timmy is 40 but looks ten, and later we get The Secret Wish episode that reveals that Timmy made a wish to stop time so he never loses his godparents, and he made that wish 50 years ago. Soooo yeeeeah....
@minestar2247 maybe not that time stopped completely, but maybe rather he did something that fucked with time and so now he ages more rapidly than everyone else
Fairies can do various jobs - being a god parent is one of them. Godparents can quit at any time, though there are repercussions. If a godparent quits mid-assignment, as seen in the Fairy God Parents Fairy Idol episode, the godparents can lose their right to be a godparent. They can take a break/refuse assignment between kids without issue, though. Godparents are also allowed days off, but they usually find ways to generate coverage - in one episode, Timmy was given a temporary wand with ten wishes for “emergencies” when Wanda and Cosmo were busy. As far as good magic systems: The Owl House was really good about outlining how magic works for witches and non-witches. There are some gaps in magical knowledge, but that was because the crew was cut short in the final season.
Further point to Cosmo’s age. He was a fully-fledged Fairy Godparent when he and Wanda were assigned to the inventor of the wheel, meaning that he must be much older than 40,000 year, and matured before that point.
I mean, based on the new show, fairies grow at a pretty similar rate to humans (thanks to poof) so depending on if this was cosmos first kid, then it could only be up to like 100 years longer (though, This doesn’t include how long cosmo and wanda were married, since I don’t remember that more specific stuff)
One of the best magic systems is the magic system in Avatar The Last Airbender and a run of Doctor Strange comics by Jason Aaron where Doctor Strange had used so much magic that it had completely warped his body so much that he could no longer do some things like eat human food. There is a really great video by the channel Hello Future Me where he goes through the differences between a hard magic system and a soft magic system and it goes through the best ones
By the way, Timmy gets Fairy Godparents because his life is made miserable by his evil babysitter Vicky, not just because he doesn’t want to do chores.
25:56 I think the goal with putting all of the Fairies in the Gumball machine was to hide them from the Darkness, as Jorgen would have guessed that Fairy World would be one of its first targets.
the reason for the fairy shortage is due to cosmo. cosmo was such a menace as a baby that fairy world decided to not allow fairy's to have children anymore so that another cosmo would not be born. the loop hole for why cosmo could have a baby is due to Timmy wishing for it. i think it takes about the same time as a human birth for a fairy to be born it might be less but its been a long time. so if jorgen von strangle really wanted the army he would not allow this to happen.
I thought it was implied that the Hall of Infamy godkids were implied to have been the reasons why the rules against emotional influence (French-American racism), direct harm (tornadoes in trailer parks) and murder (killing Ferdinand) were there in the first place?

My favourite magic system is from "Die Einherjer" by the German author Pascal Wokan, where a rune's power is tied to both your weapon and you showing the characteristic traits this particular rune represents. For example: A man like Asgrim Krummfinger, the protag of the 1st and the 3rd Season, who fights for honour but also as a beacon of hope can master the rune Sowilo and from this point onwards tap into its power (mainly power-, speed- and durability-anhancement). It also connects him to his weapon, allowing him to (de-)summon it at will as well as using it more or less like Thor uses Mjölnir in the Marvel films and series. When he then ascends to become the Allfather in Season 3, he is able to use the full potential of all runes, granting him a massive powerspike and potentially reality-altering magic, though he only uses the latter to break the 9 Worlds free from a time loop, just to lay back and relax for the rest of his immortal life afterwards. Edit: Well, I forgot about Nimmerherz, and now I can't decide which one I prefer, because in Nimmerherz, every spell causes an opposite reaction - so if you e. g. turn water into ice to cool someone's sprained ankle, someone else might suddenly break into a frozen lake because the ice below him suddenly melted.....
Well no, fairies are just normal magical creatures, but by going to fairy academy they can be assigned to a child, meaning they chose to do this on their own accord, no one forced them, they could of just lived their lives in fairy world but chose not to. And at any point, if the god parent is disrespected or treated like crap they can choose to leave, same with the child, if they dont like the parent they can give them up.
That was literally the premise of one of the specials. Where Norm tries to ruin Timmy's life after he finds godparents can quit and it effects the kid. One of my favorite magic systems is the magic in the Wings of Fire book series, where certain characters can do basically anything but every time they do a spell, they lose a piece of their soul, meaning the characters who use their magic to much go insane, and sometimes become evil.
My favourite magic system is from the Inheritance series. The way magic works is through manipulating life energy through a special language. By using the energy of their bodies, they can describe what they want to do with the Ancient Language. If you try do something that requires more energy than you have, you will die. Energy can be stored for later in gemstones, and it can be taken from others, willingly or by psychic force, as being a magic user also makes one telepathic. Magic was not always like this, though. Magic was cast by simply thinking about what you wanted to do. This was dangerous, as a lack of focus could mistakes. After a dangerous accident nearly destroyed the land, a people called the Grey Folk bound magic to their language, the Ancient Language. The Ancient Language gained several properties from this. It can describe the true nature of things, it can be used to cast magic, and when using it, you cannot lie. Make a promise, and you WILL keep it.
