Takeshi Shudo stated in the Pocket Monsters: The Animation novels that in the Pokémon world, there is the Primary School Graduates Adulthood Law "As for the April after your tenth birthday, you are able to gain a Pokemon license and carry Poke Balls to capture Pokemon, All adult rights are granted" it also worth remembering that Takeshi Shudo also wanted an Elderly Ash to be reincarnated as his younger self.

I'd love it if it followed the pattern of the Pokemon Adventures: Yellow Chapter manga where Ash(Red in the manga) goes missing and his Pikachu, severely wounded, finds a trainer that's willing to help him in Riko(Yellow in the manga). This would lead to Riko traveling the world with Ash's Pikachu looking for Ash, keeping Pikachu as the franchise mascot. If it truly is like Pokemon Adventures, then after Riko(Yellow) goes on their journey meeting New and Old Friends, they eventually find Ash trapped by the big evil in the deepest part of Area Zero(Seafoam Islands I think) where she along with her friends save him from them and they work together in an action packed final fight for the sake of the world.
