I think what is worse about the lemmings thing is that Disney created the myth, but then they referenced it in Ducktales so they basically brought it back to another generation.
They also contributed to the alpha wolf dominance myth in their media- this myth lead to harmful dog "training," and the extinction of wolves in many areas due to them being misnatured. They're not solely responsible, but they contributed to a lot of animal deaths with bad documentaries
The reason Walt lost the rights to Oswald and friends is because he was contracted by Universal at the time. When he decided to open his own studio, he wasn't able to bring Oswald along with him. They finally regained the rights to Oswald some time in the last two decades, leading to the Epic Mickey games to quickly use him in something.
The thing that irritates me the most about that little girl who got assaulted is that now Disney related things in general could be trigger for her because of the circumstances surrounding the event. Not only does she have to live with the trauma that being sexually assaulted leaves you with but she could also be potentially reminded of that incident whenever something involving Disney comes up. And trust me, as someone who was _ALSO_ sexually assaulted as a young child with the only thing I was allowed to watch while I was there was black and white Mickey Mouse cartoons I can no longer look at black and white Mickey Mouse the same way ever again and it _SUCKS_ seeing as how there's a good number of movies that have shorts of it playing before the movie especially when I was younger when it was a lot harder to avoid. Modern day Mickey Mouse is fine, I don't really like it but at the same time it doesn't bring back bad memories unlike old-school Mickey Mouse which _ALWAYS_ reminds me of that incident. And this is coming from someone who has long since almost completely recovered from her trauma! Not all people are lucky enough to be able to just shrug off trauma like 6-8 year old me was!
@@toumabyakuya True, the only possible thing that could make it better is that there's a lot of people who never end up on a ship or only get on one once so that might not be too much of a problem for her... but even if that is the case ships in general could still be a trigger for her just like Disney could be!

The dust thing actually was meant to spell out SFX as in SOUND EFFECTS Japanese Disneylands are used as a Reference in some Anime and Urban JRPGs You can find, Dreamland in Persona 5
I'm still going to say the Lion King hidden message one is wrong, since the abbreviation for "special effects" is SFX, and the dust would have most likely been done by people in a specialized department for effects like that, so sneaking "SFX" in as a nod to that department would be a nice easter egg, yet since F and E are so close to each other, it unfortunately looked like "SEX," and that's the rumor that got popularized and spread around. Basically, a harmless easter egg acknowledging the work of the effects team is now seen as a dirty subliminal message.
I never even noticed that message until it was pointed out in this vid. Even if it had been a subliminal "sex" message, I doubt most people would've picked up on it without trying to look for it. Like, Nala's bedroom eyes was probably more impactful on childrens' sexual behavior than that message.
I want to add a little tidbit about an old disney film, Song of the South. This movie took place in the southern US... During the times when slavery was still legal. The movie depicted black people having fun and being happy about being forced into slave labor. Yeah... The movie depicted so many horrid stereotypes, even painting slaves as being HAPPY about slavery. This was an evil attempt to get people to support slavery, and needless to say, Disney has done their best to pretend it never happened. And it worked. One of the most disturbing pieces of Disney history ever.
