    Hi, Bob. I love all your videos. I’ve been watching your videos to improve my English while I am eating my breakfast every day. 😉 During this pandemic, almost all schools are closed. I was looking for an online English class. Fortunately I found you while I was watching RUclips. And I am living in New York. Your English accent is same as American English. That’s what I want. Thanks a lot for making these helpful videos. ❤️

    I totally agree with you, Mr. Bob. I grew up in a no swearing environment, enven though I do it on some occasions, I don't think it's cool at all to swear out loud, especially in other languages. In my opinion the reason to learn swear words is that, as you rightly mentiones, to reconize it in order not to get pranked.

      @@LearnEnglishwithBobtheCanadian French (or expressions) from our "cousins"from Quebec seems pretty strange too for us sometimes in France. I guess swear words are the same. It's funny to see how a language can be at the same time, the same, and not totally the same when you live on different continents. We love our Canadian cousins. It reminds us old French words that are still present in some regions of France. 😄

    Well, most of the dear words I know I've learnt from the TV-shows 😂😂. But it really does help to understand what's going on much better than to look for the word in a dictionary every time.
    But a big problem for me is that Russian equivalents for those words aren't usually that bad. For example, H-E-🏒 -🏒 in Russian is not a swear word at all. So it takes some time to realize that these phrases mean much worse things in English.
    And that "H-E-double hockey sticks" was just brilliant 😂😂 - love it!
    Thank you for the lesson, Teacher Bob!

    Fun fact: during online games (like GTA,PUBG) one can check conversations in Russian and find that 40 to 80% of talks are swearing.
    When meeting gamers from Europe, I was surprised that many of them can swear in Russian without knowing a single normal word.
    Having played online with Russians, they managed to adopt the obscene language, while missing any other word.

I like those acronyms and euphemisms like wtf, bs, frigging, what the fluff :) I have some problems though with the s word. Even though I know it is not necessarily perceived by native English speakers as very vulgar, and is often used as an equivalent of 'stuff' (he knows his s..., get s... done) - I don't really approve of it in public settings.

      It's also my go to word. It's not a nice word. It's very crude, but sometimes it just slips out! 🙂☕🚁

    I think Americans swear more than Canadians.

      I think a lot has to do with upbringing and current job. I was raised in a family where swearing was uncommon, and now I have a job where it would be considered unprofessional. I think if either were different I might swear more. It's hard to say. 🙂☕🚁

    Long story short, you need to know swear words so as not to accidentally use them. I totally agree with this point. But, dear teacher, when will we start studying them?

    • @Aleksey_FE
      @Aleksey_FE 3 года назад +1

      Sorry, I just couldn't help but joke.😎 In fact, there are many of these words in modern movies and even in books, so there is no reason to study them on purpose.

    Let me comment again cos you posted it on your RUclips, please pay atttion guys, i did swear as well when i deleted something accidently. On animated series also use swear words espacially in adult animation series, i can't believe it, but it's fact, even my childhood show in English some characters use swear words. Guys, did you know that some animation are for adult only? Mr. Bob, did you watch animation for adult? HE double Hocky sticks? Is it really a swear word? I don't know that swear word and its meaning, i'm not lying guys, yes we should learn them as English learners however don't use them. I agree, about yes and no you explained it thoroughly.😊
