Considering probability, the fact that less than about 2% of the playerbase is Diamond or higher. The odds of a bronze/silver player (which is about 70% of the playerbase) falling for it is alot higher simply due to sheer numbers. But of course your case is a possibility. Out of every diamond player in the world there probably one who would fall for someone who tries to scam you and out of every silver/bronzie there's probably one who wouldn't.
