Well a Cayman GTS is definitely not an entry level Porsche at prices near to 60K EUR. The silver 986.1 Boxster S open-top they passed is! Can be gotten for as low as 15 000 - 25 000 EUR atm. Still has 260 hp, does 0-100 in 5.7s and 0-200 in 21.4s, topping out at 264km/h.

@@erickbaka drove that one for a couple of years, incredibly fun car. Then had a 997, wasn't as much fun tbh, not as a daily.
Amen! Picked up my 981S a year ago, best purchase ever! 911 engine, 911 brakes, Cayman price😂 Really cant go wrong with either MT or PDK really. I think it will become a classic👌
Perfect example of how it doesn't take a bunch of power to be fast, balance is so important and being confident in the vehicle makes a huge difference, personally I prefer a car with less power this way you can push thru the corners with more confidence, I'm not afraid to get sideways but don't want to worry about spinning in corners.
Great lap Misha! I’ve owned the 981 GTS for 4 years now, incredible car, the sound, the emotion, and it still looks like it rolled off the production line yesterday. A real everyday sports car that gives you smiles for days 🏁
I have always wanted a Porsche. My dream car as a kid was the 911 Slant Nose Turbo convertible. In 2009 I had my first opportunity of driving my Dad's 2006 Boxster ( Thank You DAD ) and I was blown away too, I had never driven any car that handled that well!. I live in the Sierra Nevada Mountains and it felt like the car was made for these roads. I daily a 2016 WRX STI and it feels like it's in it optimal environment too but not quite same feeling of the car being on rails like the Boxster did. The STI will still be driveable in snow unless it's deep then I worry about high centering:D I forgot to add that the most powerful car I had driven prior to the Boxster was my Dad's 1996 Ford Taurus SHO and I was just 16 so it was more power than I knew how to handle at the time.
Hello Misha. If you use CPR filters made for the front and rear cameras, you can eliminate reflections from the front and rear consoles of the car. Sometimes, depending on the angle of the sun, it can be difficult to see the road. I am making this suggestion because I don't want to miss any moments. 😀
The owner combined all emotions with a smile. Scared but smiling, excited and smiling, pure fear and smiling, … Impressed by the car and actually a proof many of us don’t need the GT4.
Love it! I have a 981 Cayman S ... with GTS spec (all the extras, GTS front and rear bumper , basically the same minus 10hp) and love it... second one I've owned! Awesome video, would love Misha to drive mine with me in it!
Wow, great lap as usual!! The GTS seems like the perfect sports car with the power (340hp), handling and style...and it's not as harsh as the more capable GT4 for everyday use. I want one! 🤩
For a totally stock car, it is amazingly fast and sounds wonderful without being to obnoxious like the new GT4RS. Perfect balance I think. Maybe upgrade brakes if you visit a racetrack more often.
The look of amazement between joy and nervousness is awesome. The downhill on Fuchsröhre into the switchback at Adenauer was an experience for him as his eyes opened widely from increased speed stimuli then into some fear at the turns got a big smile on my face!
Misha had some deep thoughts going through his mind, and used the ring to process it. Thank you Misha for sharing transparent and sincere content, no matter what!
Best Cayman ever made in my opinion. The 718 cayman 4.0 also so amazing but something special about a balance between usable power, ride quality and handling that I like so much about the 981. It’s just so well balanced.
I think the 981 sounds better than the new 4L engine. Passed on an allocation for new GTS after I bought a ‘14 Cayman S with PSE, PASM, LSD, 6MT-basically a 981GTS. Saved me about $60k.
Had a race yellow 981 GTS for 4 years and loved it. Replaced it with a new race yellow 718 GTS 4.0 . I love the extra power of the 4.0 but... the 981 with it's 3.4 engine felt better balanced in terms of power and handling especially on the road. I felt like I could use full power far more often on the road in the 981 than I can in my 718. The 981 GTS is a peach of a car particularly in PDK which suits the engine better then the manual. I think it's one of the best road sports cars Porsche has ever made, (obviously the GT4 and GT3's are better on track), but most of my driving is road trips to the Alps and Scotland etc and only 1 - 2 track days a year, so the GTS is a better fit for me.
I have the 981 GTS as a manual, and although everybody somehow thinks the gearing on it is too long (it is long), I can't quite see to much of a difference between them... My second gear ends at somewhere around 125kph as well and third is also similar.
Glad to have seen Team Bilstein race in the Nordschleife 24h race, there were a lot of people who cheered and screamed your name once they saw the BMW GT4

I don't know if you noticed but Misha actually had to slow down from 199km to 134km just to let him pass because he could tell he was a bit faster than the Porsche. Not saying the M4* isn't fast just pointing out this is proper driving etiquette on the ring 😁
I was just going to say the same, Misha tapped the brakes to let him by, but having an extra 150+ hp will do that too. I would still take the Porsche keys every day.
That was a "I swear that's not the car I came here with" type of reaction. Jose couldn't believe what was going on and that all of it was happening in his own car. 😅
I picked up a 2016 Cayman S in 2020 with 3800 miles on it optioned with The Sports Chrono Package, PASM and Factory Sport Exhaust System. Replaced the 20" wheels with 18" Apex Racing Wheels to soften the ride over stutter bumps and installed Softronic Engine Software which bumped horsepower to 360 so I essentially have a better car than a GTS for a lot less money. BTY book value on it has increased significantly since then.
