      And the first Giga Mary Sue, rendering the creation of the Primarchs irrelevant because of his plot armor. Possibly one of the biggest mistakes in the entirety of GW fiction.

    • @cncmne7404
      @cncmne7404 Год назад +7

      @@andrewbakescakes9684So just because a non-Primarch manages to outmanouever Perturabo at Phall and nearly defeating him makes him a Mary Sue? What is Abbadon then? The man has Angron effectively under his command , even if he can only point him into one direction.

    • @andrewbakescakes9684
      @andrewbakescakes9684 Год назад

      Yes, it does. Why create the Primarchs if an Astartes can defeat one so easily? Phall (and Pluto) felt very unearned and very unbelievable, and this is the very heart of Mary Sue-ism.
      Originally, there was no Battle of Phall. The IF went to the wrong place and were stuck in Warp Storms. But John "I write terribly" French is a self-proclaimed IF fanboi, and he couldn't have his precious IF do nothing all Heresy. Battle of Pluto is also his. Notice in both the IF wins are due to some very out-of-character moments on the part of the traitor Primarchs? Like, he made them into idiot Saturday morning cartoon villains just to give his IF the win. Mary Sue-ism.
      And if I need to explain how/why Abaddon can control Angron, then I am not sure you understand much about Chaos in the setting. Not to label you or anything, but this is typical of IF fanbois who are all "hurr durr loyalty to da Emprah for no reason", like Dorn. Dorn is the worst Primarch, mostly due to the large amounts of retconning they have done to try to salvage his "character".
      Basically, Angron is beholden to the will of Khorne. Khorne is one of the Chaos gods. Abaddon is the champion of Chaos Undivided. This includes Khorne. Khorne can force Angron to "follow" Abaddon and will do so if it benefits Khorne.
      I guess there could be rituals of binding/summoning and other stuff involved too.

      @@andrewbakescakes9684 Originally there was no battle of Phall? You do know that it is GW that directs the storyline and that the writers are in charge of the details. And what should have Phall been then? A completely one sided victory for the IWs? Against an enemy with equal numbers , more supplies , smaller and more manouvreable ships and above all , the legion best at void warfare in charge of it? If it was one sided it would have been bullshit and make Polux and others complete idiots and make the Dantioch-Polux friend ship impossible. Not to mention that Perty though he was facing Sigismund , so he made an error (OMG how is this possible that Perty made a mistake etc , etc,). This battle has been in depth analysed by the various subreddits by both IF and IW fans and came to an understanding that IW pyrrhic victory was the most fair conclusion. You are pretty much alone in your wacky opinion. As for Pluto , wasnt Alphariuses trait arrogance , did he not think he was better than others and that his way of warfare never fails. That is a continous theme with traitor primarchs isnt it ? They hate the Emperor for being arrogant while also thinking they are superior than their brothers and the rest of humanity. Look where that got them.
      As for the whole Abbadon thing , the fact that in Lords of Silence , Mortarion follows him and respects him to some degree while in Plauge War he goes against the wishes of his god shows that Abaddon has sway over them regardless of their gods pushing them into it and that Daemon primarchs are fully capable of going against their wishes if they have any form of control over themselves.

    • @andrewbakescakes9684
      @andrewbakescakes9684 Год назад

      @@cncmne7404 - Yes. Originally, Dorn tries to send his IF to Istvaan III, only to get lost. Dorn also almost killed Garro. Remember? Dorn used to possess the traits you accuse Alpharius of having before uber retconning.
      Would Alpharius get into a battle he could not win, even with this alleged arrogance? No. He is not an idiot.
      Would Perturabo be unable to realize his error or be unable to make a contigency plan? No. He is not an idiot.
      As for what Phall should have been, there should have stayed NO battle, with Dorn making another strategic blunder and being a hot head. You don't feel his earlier portrayal is so different from his later profile?
      Legion best at void warfare? Only because of Mary Sue factor 11 our of 10 (yes, I have bias and hate them, so disregard this as a real argument, ha ha ha).
      I've seen non-IF fanbois discuss this battle. There is large agreement that it was dum to happen in the first place (see above) and that it made the IW look dum just so the IF could not look useless (they were so super useless).
      This is exactly what a Mary Sue is. They have no prior presence, and then suddenly, they appear out of nowhere, make established characters look stupid so the Mary Sue can look good, and have unearned successes and poor development. You can't argue that Dorn is not one of the worst developed characters prior to this.

The raptors (and for the most part, the raven guard as a whole) are actual super soldiers. Using tactics and critical thinking, as opposed to brute force. They use camouflage, they target leaders with snipers, and only get into melee when necessary. Been around 40k my whole life, but never actually got into the hobby or its lore myself. Then I played the recently released Space Marines 2, and decided to stop beating around the bush and stop denying what my soul has been calling to for decades...going through all the lore of all the factions, I was pretty set on the Imperial Fists for their lore (though Dark Angels were a close second...got to have a little darkness to keep things interesting and exciting, right? And whats darker than slaying your own forces in order to protect a deep dark secret?).

No pauldron colors or anything of the sort. The only way to tell is all 1st company have two red fists with red handguards. I know the lore changes all the time, I just want to make sure I didn't miss anything. Also I think the only helmet difference is the red stripe for LT. I don't think the sternguard paint their helmets white, again I could be wrong tho. Keep up the great work!

    The Night Lords (i want to make a joke chapters as the *Knight* Lords which people will confuse but these Knight Lords are the exact opposite winning everyone over with their nobilty and being cool) but the Night Lords have red fists as a gang ritual symbolizing that he's a dead man, his life is forfeit once he dips the red paint, someone is going to kill him.
    Ultramarines might have them because higher ranks symbolized by colors on their helmet, of which red was one. It used to be a mark of shame and censure.
    There are some more blue body red fists Marines but i cant think of them right now.

So that I have the whole of the second founding coming together in an army, (a friend nearby plays soul drinkers so might borrow some models to sprinkle in for pictures)

    Space Marines who look after the citizens of the Imperium are by far my favorites. It always feels like they just care about murdering Xenos and fighting for the Emperor, so having another priority on that list is nice, especially one so noble.

    Nice! I'm quite fond of this old school chapter, but it seems they don't get as much love as some of the other more well known successor chapters.

    “Would” count: 63
    Doesn’t mean I’d not loved this though, I really did ❤️ The 40k universe is vast, and each Astartes chapter has its own unique history.

    funny to hear: "the crimson fists follows everything in the codex astartes, the crimson fists breaks the rules of the Codex, the crimson fists would never break anything set up by the codex, the crimson fists does not do as the codex demands." Make up your mind lol

    The Festival of the Blood is essentially lifted from the real world Feast of St. Januarius. The saints blood is kept in a glass ampoule and on Sept 19th, the dried blood liquefied. Awesome they used this real world event here!

    As a brother chapter of the Crimson Fists I must say I have never heard of a worse fumble in the entire history of the Imperium than what happened to the Arx Tyrannus, a grave tragedy nevertheless.

    I can safely say I have never fallen in love with a faction faster than I have with the Crimson Fists. Harking back to the first White Dwarf I brought, I first laid eyes on the Crimson Fists in Tale of Four Warlords where the Space Marine player had chosen the Fists for his chapter. As soon as I saw their deep blue armour and bright red fist I knew this was the chapter for me.
    At one time I had a full company and half a veteran company of firstborn models. Sadly due to hard times I have sold off the collection with the only surviving model being Alexis Pollux painted as a Crimson Fist. But with the era indomitus I have begun collecting again. The models I got from Conquest magazine became the start of my Crimson Fists Primaris army and with Leviathan they have been expanded upon again and again.
    I eventually started reading the lore and I fell more and more in love with them, they also would see the continued theme of me collecting factions that have suffered hardships, notably Iyanden Aeldari. While I often start small collections of other Chapters or factions I will always be a loyal son of Dorn.
