- Today we take a look at voice plays rendition of the sea shanty named drunken sailor. I was told to react to this video via a comment on my previous video of 16 Tons by Geoff Castellucci. I hope you guys enjoy, And if you don't mind leaving a like, commenting on the video, and also subscribing to the channel that helps me out a ton to fit into youtube's algorithm.

Tbh, the most amazing thing to me about Geoff's super low notes is how he has learned to maintain clear diction through them.
Yeah and the way that the others can hit that high note.
He's been in Hoist The Colour, My Mother Told Me. They have all worked Disney or Universal Studios since they live in Orlando. Jose does some Broadway work. The drunken sailor is Buckey, who in an earlier time was a member of VoicePlay. Now does voice/character acting for Disney, came back to a Geoff solo - Monster Mash and did the choreography for that one, a last year did a VP mini of Gonna Walk 500 Miles. Geoff's line about carving his heart out is a tribute to Alan Rickman in Robin Hood and Eli did his best British accent for his part. Always look at the amount of time left - you left some on the floor there! VP does get RUclips credits if the reactors/analysts take it to the end. Just so you know.
They had five members from well before they rebranded as Voiceplay in 2012. Their high tenor, Earl Elkins Jr, who was with them from the beginning in 1997, left early in 2020 for undisclosed personal reasons. He has not been replaced. J None who joined them in 2018 left in 2021 to sing with the US Navy. He has been replaced by Cesar de la Rosa (stick him in the scupper with the hose pipe on him). The fifth position has been empty since J left. They have a close knit group of friends who join with them on a regular basis. Jose has been in three of their major works and several shorts/minis.

The Drunken Sailor is past member Matthew Buckner aka Bucky. He also choreographed Geoff in his cover of Monster Mash.
Jose is the big captain in this one. It's a reprise of his role in their video Hoist the Colours, which I highly recommend (though I think of it as being more of a sequel to this one, since the guys have clearly been through some stuff in that one and it's much more serious--though still theatrical.) He was also one of the Vikings in their My Mother Told Me video.
Yeah, I think you had only reacted to a couple of their more serious ones so far but they are brilliant with the theatrics when they do it. They have sooo much to enjoy! I hope you will react to more of them! 😅❤
Definitely there's going to be more voice play reactions coming in the future.
Jose Rosario Jr has been in 3 or 4 of their older video (hoist the color, my mother told me, ...)
Voiceplay use to be a 5 member group, featuring guest when they needed to recrute/replace a member (What's this?, feat J. NONE before he was an official member). When Earl left, that's when they opted for the 4member and rotating guest format. But there is rumor (not confirmed) they might go back to a stable 5 men group if J.None come back after his contract with the navy end (no confirmation or infirmation on the topic at all).

Hoist The Colours is another great Voice Play cover. It is theatrical as well. It us from Pirots If The Caribbean. Same featured artist. Please do a reaction to it. Voice Play are known as The Theater Kids of a capella. Also Voice Plays cover of Hell Fire from The Hunchback of Notre Dame. Geoff us the lead singer ( for a change ) & wait till you hear his range at the end. Thank you for a great reaction to Voice Play. Never end any Voice Play or Geoff Castallucci video until after the credits are done. Geoff can go rock high.
