The captain's daughter is what they called the whip used for punishing a sailor. Geoff threatening to cut Bucky's heart out while holding a wood spoon harkened back to the 1991 movie Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves. That's what the Sheriff of Nottingham (Alan Rickman) threatened/ordered to do to Robin (Kevin Costner). Former VoicePlay member when it was called 4:2:Five Matt (Bucky) Buckner was also in the VoicePlay short I'm Gonna Be (500 Miles).

Not for the first time - Santa and the Grinch were extras. First Geoff GETS down that low - then he actually clearly sings words down that low. whew!

The lines that totally cracked me up... Geoff says to cut his heart out... Eli says make him listen to VoicePlay... and Jose calls ELI the monster!! LMAO!!! This is SUCH a great redo of this old drinking song! And, as always, QoFy, your reaction was great!!
Voiceplay has so much fun. I really want to see them and Home Free team up again, because they all know how to have fun, be warm, and do a fantastic cover of a song. And Cesar twerking made this video for me.
Geoff's line about Carve his heart out followed by Eli's British accent is a tribute to Alan Rickman's acting in Robin Hood. Bucky is currently working at Disney World as a voice actor.
"Bucky" is the 'drunken sailor'. He was with VoicePlay....BEFORE they WERE VoicePlay. Before that they were known as 4:2:five. When it was Geoff, Earl, Layne, and i think Scott Porter,...then they added Mykel Kilgore and were known as 4:2:five. If you watch the closed caption of their cover of "Just Sing".....you get a 'history' of VoicePlay.....Bucky was the one who taught Geoff the 'dance moves' in his cover of Monster Mash......>^^
Bucky joined them after they were 4:2:Five for a shot time. He replaced Mikal Kilmore.
Fun way to start back up after your holiday. Sometimes silly is really refreshing.
Drunken Sailor is a past member known as Bucky. Huldra hasn't finished her homework and posted more info on him.
Longboats were normally kept filled with seawater to prevent the wood drying out and breaking.
The Captain's Daughter was the nickname for a cat'o'nine tails (whip).
Scupper is a opening at the side of the ship that allowed water, and other stuff, to drain from the deck.

The bts for this video was just over the top hilarious. Love seeing Jose. He just fits in so well. Bucky was a great drunken sailor too. As awesome as the video is... And it is.... Their vocals were just outrageously good.

Matt "Bucky" Buckner was a member waaaaaaay back when they were 4:2:Five. Now he's a Gamer, Voice Actor and works at Disney World.
He stops by every now and then to say hi.
In this one Geoff told him the storyline and with the exception of a few lines he was given free reign for the rest.
He can also be seen in their 2 minis.... Candy Crush Caravan Escapade and I'm Gonna Be (500 Miles) as a pesky mall shopper.
He also choreographed Geoff's dance moves in Monster Mash.
Geoff did an awesome job with this.
He's also started working on Voiceplay video for next month.
And already knows what he's doing in October for Halloween.

The drunken sailor is Matthew "Bucky" Buckner, a member of the group back in the 4:2:Five days. He also appears in the minis I'm Gonna Be (500 Miles) and Candy Caravan Escapade. He was also the choreographer for Geoff's Monster Mash video. Geoff's lowest note is a D1 subharmonic at about timestamp 1:25. We're told "The doll's name is Clara and she has feelings." Geoff wrote the music and lyrics for the bridge. Fun (or creepy) facts: The lyrics for Drunken Sailor have a darker meaning than what they appear to be. Putting him in the long boat can either mean sticking him in the boat lashed to the side of the ship until the swaying and heaving causes him to be sick and sober up, or to actually put the longboat into the water with the unfortunate pirate inside, having it trail behind the ship at the mercy of the ship's wake. Shaving his belly with a rusty razor might induce tetanus or at least a nasty infection. Sticking him in a scupper (the drain holes on a ship's deck) with a hose pipe on him means to lay him, face up, with his head in a scupper, then to hose him down with cold, disgusting bilge water from the bottom of the ship, Putting him to bed with the Captain's daughter actually means to tie him down on the deck and lash him with a cat-o-nine-tails.
I love this so much!! They are so silly and this is just sooo much fun!! Bucky is from back in the old days of 4:2:five. Geoff arranged this one. This is just as they call it, their special kind of dumb, and I love it!!! lmao Great reaction!! Clara the doll is creepy and needs to be thrown overboard! lol I laughed so damn hard with this

I don't think it's your microphone. Bobby Waters had the same issue when streaming a bass singing seminar with Jonathan on Twitch when he was trying to demonstrate overtone singing.
Turns out that depending on your software or the platform you're streaming on, you might have a noise reduction setting active and it tends to cut off sudden high pitches. You might want to look into your OBS, Twitch or RUclips settings
