I sat through this and you jabbered about a bunch of films I've never heard of and will never see. And I live in NYC so all that stuff presumably played here.

Ah! Haha! THANK YOU using words like "Carrying the Film" for Cillian Murphy. You really struck a high note there and oh it rang SO true! As someone who walked out 2 hours into the first showing of Oppenheimer (Fact lol) and gave it the entire 3 hour viewing at a later date, Oppenheimer was horrifically pitiful and terrible for me. Absolutely horrendous on so, so many levels. Last Jedi territory. The word communism was used something like 150 more times more than "War" or "Bomb" or "Japanese." The entire everlasting, multi-time lined political witch hunt was so, so out of left field. The surface, if not total aerial look, into the supporting cast, the scientists, their work, and Oppenheimer's family, the scientist's family etc, was beyond unforgivable for me. What an insane missed opportunity to invoke so much juicy, credible, needed drama to a man and story that highly deserved that. It is scary to actually think of how much human emotion and interactions were left on the table by ignoring the scientists, their work, their stress, their personal lives, and their families. At least we got scenes were Casey Affleck is hunting communists? LOL? Why... during a time and era such as this are we so focused on a cry baby, no name congressmen who got his feelings hurt? There was zero emotional connection to a story or its supporting pieces because the threat of communism was this story. The threat of who you are and who you know was scarier than them advancing as they made the bomb... Because they barely ever showed them making the bomb!!! LOL. Post WW2/Cold War political theater? Whyyyyyy. Low, low hanging fruit my dear friends. Every critic that came down hard on Oppenheimer and Nolan for the scale of what was missed about the man, the time, and what they worked to achieve - that's my camp. The film, for me, needed to be called "Are you a communist and if not, do you want to join?" or "Find Them Damn Comeys Soldiers!" LOL! Digressing, what the film clearly did show was the power of Cillian Murphy. Astonishing work and glad to see him past Peaky Blinders and looking ever so strong. What a gift his work and talent is. Matt was crushing it as usual and brought a splice of comedy I wasn't expecting to Oppenheimer!!! The score, as you gents mentioned, completely connects and shines so bright!!! So happy to hear that was a dub for you guys too. Personally, the language and emotion of the score far outreached the odd, pointless, and boring elements of the "narrative" and "script" for this guy. ;) HA! Thanks again for the video, thoughts, and time gents. Cillian and the score were truly something special and for obvious reasons, based on my point of view, I believe this is going to be a wild, wild Oscar night!!! Zone of Interest is going to break the internet. ;) Be well!
