Until Oscar expert said “ you know Jonathan” - I didn’t realize I didn’t know The Film Drunks real name. lol
Such a beautiful name
same!!
Now, do we know the Oscar Expert’s and Brother Bro’s real names? And this is probably a dumb question, are they twins? They look so much alike but not identical, or are my eyes deceiving me?
@@tristanvoyageur87 cole and justin if i remember correctly and i think they are twins
Same
Bro... Literally my Oscar trinity coming together! This is waaaay too amazing!
The Oscar expert reminded me that The Batman wasn’t even shortlisted for score and now my day is ruined cause that shit is an actual travesty. Lowkey should’ve won that award lmao
Cillian Murphy’s performance is transformative. Carries a 3 hour movie! No way is the lovely Giamatti performance going to top his. Just an amazing feat for Murphy.

If i Were an oscar voter
wait break this down for me why is "was" incorrect in this situation?

@@fruitsy_if I was would be referring to an actual situation in the past, while “if I were” would be referring to a hypothetical situation

You should make a video of what you think the best movies of the last decade are
I seriously think this is the Weakest Supporting Actress lineup this century. 4 sneaks. Davine is the only worthy performance.
If you throw up a peace sign balloons go off. It happens on Snapchat and stuff too. He was holding up the number 2
what was i made for sums ups the message in barbie so beautifully. i'm just ken is just a song about a man.
I love the Oppenheimer Score. I listen to it for fun sometimes, but the KOTFM score was just so daunting and brilliant. I don’t listen to it like I do oppenheimers but I would still give KOTFM best score
My Picks

I needed the fix
I'm seeing The Zone of Interest tomorrow, so I'll know if I agree with the twins by then or not...
I might not be an accomplished actor, but having done a few plays I'd say "playing yourself" is definitely a thing.

Immediate cancellation for those gross Maestro votes.
Brother bro has fixed my marriage, livelihood and car.
Ryan Gosling did a better “Ken” character in Crazy Stupid Love, so I wouldn’t have nominated him for this one. (And the Goose Gosling line didn’t get enough appreciation 👏🏽 👏🏽).
Oppenheimer would be my personal choice to win Best Picture. My alternate choice would be The Holdovers
The Holdovers, Poor Things, Emma Stone, are my personal choices.
Best Feat ever
‘I’m Just Ken’ is going to win
My picks:
BP: Anatomy of a Fall
Actor: Cillian Murphy
Actress: Sandra Huller (but it’s close with Gladstone)
Supp Actor: Mark Ruffalo
Supp Actress: Da’Vine Joy Randolph
Director: Justine Triet
Adapted Screenplay: Poor Things
Original Screenplay: genuinely a 3-way tie between May December, Past Lives, and Anatomy of a Fall. I cannot choose. (All three are in my top 4 of the Year)
Editing: Oppenheimer
Cinematography: Poor Things
Sound: Oppenheimer
Costume: Poor Things
Production: Poor Things
Score: Killer of the Flower Moon
Animated: Spiderverse.
Makeup: Poor Things
Song: I’m Just Ken
The talk in Golderby is whether "Oppenheimer" can match the most awarded movies of all time: "Titanic" and "Lord of the rings ROTK" with 11 Oscars. Well, let's count every category I want "Oppenheimer" to win: Picture, Director, Actor, Supporting Actor, Editing, Sound, Score, Cinematography, Make-up and Hair (not because it's my favorite in the category but because that will mean Cillian will win Actor). That's 9 Oscars, not enoght to match the all time records but a nice amount. I want "Barbie" to win: Costume design, production design, song, adapted screenplay. Four awards for my second favorite movie will be great!. I want Emily Blunt or America to win best Supporting actress but it won't happen 😢. Visual effects, I'd give to Mission impossible. And for best actress (haven't seen "Anatomy") so I'll give it to Emma Stone. Lily Gladstone should be in best Supporting, she's no lead in the movie
Can we normalize not calling people "hatere" because they dislike a movie?
Google Meets has a feature where balloons appear when you make a peace sign.
Hoyte is a slam dunk forCinematography
I put Glazer in who should won adapted screenplay snd Nolan in directing.
CROSSOVER
2023: Barbenheimer
2024: The Oscar Drunk
😂😂
Oppenheimer should win best picture!!!!
That’s my favorite movie of the year!!
Hey fam...and cat!
😺
Ryan Gosling for Barbie….
Nah….
Mark Ruffalo appreciation LETS GOOO
After seeing AOAF Sandra was brilliant.
I love Oscar expert
drunky picking oppy for adapted screenplay is shocking.
I would vote Emma Stone. As great as the other nominees are, she is just on another level.
Yall are such contrarians its wild hahaha, so many hot takes here
If I were an Oscar voter - twink stravaganza edition
I just wash Gladstone had stayed supporting.
Me too
The one true Best Picture rankings (according my subjective opinion lol):
1) The Zone of Interest
2) Past Lives
3) Poor Lives
4) Killers of the Flower Moon
5) Barbie
6) Anatomy of a Fall
7) Maestro
8) Oppenheimer
9) The Holdovers
10) American Fiction
Mark Ruffalo was too over the top for me. Gosling stood out more on second viewing but in the supporting actor lineup I guess I’d vote for RDJ. He just feels the best to vote for
Ruffalo being over the top was kinda the whole point of his character.
one of the brothers definitely loves barbie a bit too much.
Oscars bros being too filmbro choosing Zone. Cmon… be honest
40:11 when you’re a twin
I would vote for Bradley Cooper and Sandra Hüller as well ❤️
Awesome picks
Lily Gladstone is my pick for actress but definitely wouldn't be mad at Sandra huller winning. That would be so cool. Though I kind of wish she could win for the zone of interest because I think about that performance everyday. The embodiment of evil. She has such range. What a year for her.
17:14
My Picks:
Picture: Past Lives
Director: Christopher Nolan, Oppenheimer
Actor: Paul Giamatti, The Holdovers
Actress: Sandra Hüller, Anatomy of a Fall
Supporting Actor: Mark Ruffalo, Poor Things

So, if Lily Gladstone was in Supporting Actress would you guys be picking her?
Bradley Cooper needs our SUPPORT! f off haters!!!

Original Screenplay - Past Lives

Costume Design - Barbie
Production Design - Poor Things
Film Editing - Anatomy of a Fall
Makeup & Hairstyling - Society of the Snow
Original Score - Oppenheimer
Original Song - I'm Just Ken
Sound - Oppenheimer
VFX - Godzilla Minus One
if Emma and Lily split the vote- Sandra could win- the way Glenn and Gaga did and Olivia won...it's happened several times
Hands down, It's Paul Giamatti in "The Holdovers".
Leonardo DiCaprio got screwed by the Oscars ... again! I don't know how they gave ''Killers of the Flower Moon'' 10 nominations, including Lily Gladstone and Robert DeNiro, and NOT nominate DiCaprio, who had the trickiest role. Instead, ''Killers'' joins the list of other terrific films he should've been Oscar-nominated for: ''Titanic,'' '''The Departed,'' ''Revolutionary Road'' ...
And Django unchained
I would be the perfect Oscar voter cuz I didn’t watch any of these movies.
Really solid picks, I agree with Zone of Interest for picture, Sandra Huller for actress, and Past Lives for screenplay. I can't believe they picked Oppenheimer for sound over Zone but didn't pick Oppenheimer for cinematography.
My picks :>
Best picture - barbie (to annoy the men lol)
Best director - probably Nolan for Oppenheimer but I wanna give smth to my weird little guy yorgos I might do poor things idk
Best actress - Lily Gladstone (OBVIOUSLY)
Best actor - Paul giamatti ik everyone's gonna say cillian Murphy but anyways watch the holdovers.
Best supporting actress - Da'vine joy Randolph who tf else anyways watch the holdovers

Best adapted screenplay - poor things
Best international feature- should've been talk to me for some aus and good horror rep
but ig the zone of interest is famous - although I wanna watch perfect days

Best doc - idk
Best cinematography - poor things
Best editing - idk Oppenheimer ig
Best costume design - barbie
Best makeup and hair - poor things

Best original score - obv Oppenheimer have you listened its like actually beautiful
Best live action short - Henry sugar
Best animated short - idk

Editing - Oppenheimer
Makeup & Hairstyling - Maestro
21:56 Oppenheimer for script? Wth? It's the weakest part of the movie. It should go to Poor thing or American Fiction.
........funny how they keep underestimating Society of the Snow.............
It was so good. Who knows, maybe it will surprise in Makeup and Hairstyle.
Saying that Glazer did the achievement in directing of the year, it’s like Karsten Runquist saying he would give best director to Todd Haynes for May December. Come on, your favorite doesn’t make the best. What Nolan did In Oppenheimer is an all time achievement, it’s like Kubrick in 2001 or Spielberg in Saving Private Ryan. You can’t call yourself an Expert and say that anyone else deserves over Nolan. It’s like saying in 2019 that Baumbach deserved over Bong Jo Ho, which they did.
You are nobody to tell that they call themselves Experts, just because they don’t choose your favourite… Just because Nolan and Oppenheimer is your favourite, doesn’t mean that it’s the best for everyone else… Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, stop being so intolerant…
@@Lord_Jim So is The Zone Of Interest or Poor Things or Killers Of The Flower Moon or Barbie… Oppenheimer isn’t the only cinematic achievement this year… Nobody stopped you from disagreeing with their opinion, the point is the intolerance of Oppenheimer fanboys to get offended whenever someone chooses other movie over Oppenheimer… Also, if I don’t like OP’s opinion, I can call him out… So, curb your hypocrisy and intolerance…
my vote goes to Sandra Huller
Sandra Hüller lez go
For supporting Milo Machado-Graner also robbed along with Melton.
Common Sandra hüller W
Am I the only one who really did not enjoy Zone of Interest? Like I understand the brilliance for sure but I thought the photo negative sequences felt forced and unnecessary, and don’t think the whole “setting up cameras around the house and having them all be stagnant shots” thing is as impressive as it is practical for making a film like this. Idk I wanted to be blown away and shook to my core and instead I just felt a little disappointed after all the hype
I kinda agree, it got ‘gimmicky’ after a while, as weird as that sounds to say
I hope you are Kyle 😂 but I get it
Waaaay overrated to me. It could’ve been more powerful as a short film without all the extra nonsense trying to show off. Or forget the whole thing. It’s so far from the source material.
While I bear no ill-feeling towards Paul Giamatti, I am quite surprised both by his nomination, and that of The Holdovers for Best Picture. This, to me, is a classic example of a desire to honour Giamatti's body of work through the years - a worthy sentiment, but one which should really be acknowledged by means of the occasional Lifetime Achievement Oscars, and not used to deprive Cillian Murphy's singular performance in Oppenheimer of the honour. The Holdovers is a decent enough film, but my overall reaction to Giamatti’s performance was that it was a typical example of Giamatti being Giametti, and that the performance did not stretch his abilities to any great extent.
👏👏👏👏👏 Perfect comment. If the Academy votes Giamatti BA over Murphy I will tear my hair out.
@@mgariepy42 I might have emulated you, but I can’t afford to lose any more hair!
@@frankathl1 😆
holy shit I think I've never disagreed so much with a video, the zone of interest? fell asleep 3 times, one of the worst movies I've ever seen, and best director? yeah let's shoot some still, pretentious shots, put some screaming in the back and there we are! film bros are so dumb bro
The slate is overrated this year. I liked 3 out of the 9 best picture nominees I saw. Not the best since 2019. 2021 is the last good Oscar year. I hope this year is better than the last two. It is off to a good start with Argylle. Hoping for a good 2024 movie year.
Satire?
@@RS-qc4tg No, I am serious.
Lmao you have a shit Oscars opinion if you think Argylle is any good
@tonygeckler76 Which 3?
