For some new eBay sellers, they may want to pack the item for shipping before listing so they have an accurate weight and measurement for the item, especially if they are choosing calculated shipping. While eBay's shipping discount may give sellers a little room, mistakes with calculated shipping could garner a sale which drastically diminishes their profit. Then they must decide to either take the $ hit or cancel an order which could ding their seller metrics.
This is such a GREAT help! Shipping calculations are always a question for me. My biggest issue is that I have lots of varying size boxes that have been given to me, so I'm never sure exactly which one is best to use for different items. Been on and off Ebay since shortly after it started and am still learning! Thanks so much!
I know boxes are an expense. But, for me, having several exact sizes of boxes just makes things easier for me. Plus, they are easier to store. I totally understand the benefits of recycling and reducing costs...but it doesn't work for me. I TRULY appreciate the encouraging comment. I know you can do this.
really check out pirate ship... you can change size of box and weight easily to see if it matters. the size of the box seems to make it cost more. so a box 10x10x4 @ 1lb to CO is 9.43 (Priority) and 14 oz. is $6.60 for ground advantage and 9.43 priority and if the box was 9x9x4 and 14 oz. was the exact same price. so just make the item fit in the box so its snug, cut it down to size if possible and learn as you go....
Hey new subscriber here. I'm just starting to look at doing ebay now that I am retired and have lots of time on my hands. Thanks for these videos. Very informative.
I think the number 1 at the end of 5001 signifies a left-handed reel, as opposed to the right-handed reel which is the 5000. Also, the C stands for a ball-bearing spool on the reel, while the regular 5000 does not have ball bearings under the spool. Great, instructional video. Thanks!
Thank you, Ameen. My goal is to create truly helpful videos that make the eBay platform accessible to everyone possible. So, your comment is truly encouraging. Thank you.
@@sillylilhippiechick We send out offers right away. We seem to make more sales when the offers go out close to the time they looked at the item. We usually send an offer at enough of a discount to change the first number of the item. For example. If it was $64.99...we might change it to $59.99. It just looks better.

Very very informative video I have learned a lot through this and will apply on all eBay stores that I am handling not just for my own accounts but also for the international accounts that I am handling
2nd time watching. Feel more ready to start each time. Did you do a video on the best things to list as you start out? Is here a ten item limit? Thanks for all you do!
The best things to list are things around your house that you can part with, that aren't terribly valuable and are easy to ship. A pair of jeans you never wore. A wallet or purse that was never carried. A stuffed animal in great shape. Just find things that actually sell. You are typically limited to around 10 items and/or $500 total value. You can get that raised as you successfully complete transactions.
Thank you for this information! I’ve wanted to sell for so long and finally decided to jump into it. I’m more of a artsy Fartsy kind of girl and a bit worried the things I want to sell won’t. However, there’s only one way to find out! Now off to learn more and jump in. Great video!
Thank you Scott "ChaChingKing", the presentation was very informative and easy to follow. I'm pushing the list button now ...whew wee , have a great day! 💸💰💸
When you are on a mobile device, it will want you to work from the app. I wish it didn't do that automatically because there's a few things you can't do on mobile. but I don't think you're doing anything wrong. You just need to list from within the app. See if this video will help some. ruclips.net/video/or2dYV1KDoQ/видео.html
@chachingking do you have a video where you can add discount when buying multiple items? So buy 2 get 10% , or buy 4 get 20% off option . Please help. I can’t seem to find any videos here. Thank you in advance ChachingKing
For me, it's always been one day and not same day. My post office closes at 11:00 a.m. on weekdays and at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday. LOL So, same day shipping hasn't ever really been an option for me. Couple the early post office closure and the fact you need to wait an hour in case the buyer cancels the sale and same day shipping isn't very doable. Finally, I've never noticed a difference in the sale through rate on the rare occasions I've tried same day shipping.
Hi, I have a question for you. Is it possible that, I provide information of the items, I want to sell and I let you sell them. I will do packing and shipping and whatever sells you take some percentage from it. We can discuss in detail.
There may be some sellers that do that, but it doesn't work for us. We can't even get all of our own inventory listed. Our average sale price is over $60. So, if I got have of the profit, the minimum sake price would need to be week over $100. And I'd have no control over the inventory...almost like a dropshipping business model. It's just not viable for me.
I think it makes sense for everyone to turn off immediate payment only. Some customers don’t have their account setup for it and don’t want to, you lose them. Some come straight from google search and don’t even have an eBay account yet, they certainly don’t have immediate payment setup, you lose them as well, some people like to add a bunch of stuff to their cart and pay for everything at once, you lose them as well. It’s best to be patient, let them pay when they’re ready.
I totally understand that point of view. The beauty of having your own eBay business is that you can build it to suit you. I would never turn off immediate payment as a general rule again. I have tried it. The percentage of listings that didn't get paid for was too high for "sales" that weren't paid right away. Picking up a few extra sales wasn't worth the aggravation of having to relist things on a regular basis. It's important to build this in a way that suits you.
@@TheChaChingKing That is the beauty of it and with most things in life there are pros and cons to weigh out and it’s not gonna weigh out the same for everyone. Thanks for the videos, I always enjoy em.
Interesting. It's hard for me to know why you're would look different. It could be anything from a different browser or a different version of ebay. I'm sorry I can't be more helpful

Was going very good but life changed and I was blessed with a job that takes a lot of my time so I’m not currently listing on eBay. But I’m still actively selling through FB marketplace. Just don’t have time to package and ship anymore.
Great video. Saving to use to train me daughters. I'm awful at explaining things. Thank you 😊
Lol...thanks! You're probably better than your give yourself credit for. But training your own kids is super hard
Thank you for the step by step lesson on listing. I believe even I could do this. I’m not computer savvy.😏 I’ll let you know how it goes. My goal is to start listing by the end of February.🤨
You can do this!
You definitely can do this! I learned from this channel and have made over $8k in 6 months! I started on my phone and I wish I had started on my laptop though, so starting from laptop would definitely be better!
Thank you Scott and as always many blessings to you for sharing your wonderful knowledge I think I'm having such a challenging time because I'm brand new I've just done my first listing no one's purchased anything I do not have access to this hub and my screen is different from your screen and I'm having a terrible time because of that and I think there's probably a lot of others that are as well maybe we'll all have the hub once I've sold something but I simply don't know
It will absolutely get easier as you complete transactions. Just be as forgiving of yourself during the learning process as you would someone else.
Very very informative video
I have learned a lot through this and will apply on all eBay stores that I am handling not just for my own accounts but also for the international accounts that I am handling
I hope it's helpful
Awesome and informative video 4 thumbs up buddy 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
Thank you so much!
You aren't the only "artsy fartsy" person, either. If you love that stuff, so does someone else. 🙂
nice video, hi everybody if you need lister just email me, thank you
Awesome video Scott. Happy New year to you guys
Happy new year!
Having watched your brilliant video I am struggling on posting the item and labeling the item I'm in the UK.
Your screens may look a bit different. Where are you getting stuck?
Thank you, it helped! 🙏
Thanks for the video and information 😀
I appreciate you watching!!!
Thanks ChaChingKing, good video, I'm making my first listing tonight.
You've got this!
Thank you Scott "ChaChingKing", the presentation was very informative and easy to follow. I'm pushing the list button now ...whew wee , have a great day! 💸💰💸
Awesome, thank you! I really appreciate the kind words.
I try to sell on my phone but every time i go to the website and press create a listing it returns me to the app idk what to do
When you are on a mobile device, it will want you to work from the app. I wish it didn't do that automatically because there's a few things you can't do on mobile. but I don't think you're doing anything wrong. You just need to list from within the app. See if this video will help some. ruclips.net/video/or2dYV1KDoQ/видео.html
Great video, thank you
I appreciate that. 😀
Thank you for making big scary eBay accessible and nicer for this new seller :-)
If I can actually do this, I'd consider that a big win. :-)
Thank you!
@chachingking do you have a video where you can add discount when buying multiple items? So buy 2 get 10% , or buy 4 get 20% off option . Please help. I can’t seem to find any videos here. Thank you in advance ChachingKing
I haven't addressed that separately. But it's a good idea for a quick tutorial. I'm editing a longer video right now. I'll add this to my list though.
@@TheChaChingKing thank you. I was able to figure this out. But yea it’ll be a good tutorial video. Thank you ChaChingKing
Can I ask you a question? On the shipping speed which is more appropriate same day or 1 day shipping. Thanks again 😊
Thanks!
You're welcome!
thank you for helping!
nice video ty
Thank you so much
Hi, I have a question for you.

Thank you so much for responding.
I wouldn't give up on finding someone interested in selling on consignment. There are business models built around that. @@aritahussain5005
Thank You
I'm glad you are here. :-)
Around 1:56 in this video, If I click on "List an Item" I don't see that page?
Apologies, I figured it out.
No worries at all! I just didn't respond fast enough. 😕
ty for that video
I appreciate your comment very much
I think it makes sense for everyone to turn off immediate payment only.
We’ll done!
Thank you so much
Top g activity right here boss
Lol...thanks...I think. I might be too uncool to know for sure what that meant.
OUT THE FRICKING THE STANDING!!!!!! WOW...
Thanks so much. :-)
Hey great content ,
can we add video to the listing for Ebay ?
Yes you can! I haven't covered it in a video yet. But you can do that.
I don't get that option to schedule listing only save drafed in raw drafted or template. Under allow offers all I get is tax and shipping!
Interesting. It's hard for me to know why you're would look different. It could be anything from a different browser or a different version of ebay. I'm sorry I can't be more helpful
Thank you for the good information. Could you address how to set up to be paid such as having a separate account, safety, protecting your information? This is one of the areas that concerns me. Thank you.
That's definitely not a bad idea
