I recently sold my B&W HiFi speakers and I am looking for high end studio monitors that will allow me to play guitar (jam with plugins) but also sound sweet when I listen to High Resolution music (HiFi setup). I am pretty confident those speakers will deliver the former case, don’t know about the latter one.

oh man this has me stoked! I love the move away from the dual opposing subs, I always found that to do something weird for me. And the price is right! If they hold up to the quality of what I've come to expect from barefoot, it will be a no brainer to pick up a par. Great job.
I'l put those next to my focal solo 6 be's and it will be an unstoppable combo.

You can, but shouldn't. It's better when the acoustic axis of the mid and tweeter is aligned above each other.

Affordable price for a 3-way and 3-amp speaker. I wish it was a closed/sealed design though.
Yes. Closed is preferred here, too. I don't think I'll ever buy a ported speaker again, tbh. I vastly vastly vastly prefer the sound of my MicroMain35, NS-10M, and various plugged speakers.

surely. The kh 310s are outdated in 2024 as they still use the old silk fabric dome design for the midrange driver and tweeter. this results in a lot more total harmonic distortion in the mid range and especially the high end, All the other speaker companies like barefoot, focal, Adam audio and eve audio etc. have moved on from this design therefore making them better speakers in the technological sense while being the same priced too. is that makes the kh310 obsolete compared to the newer speaker designs from these companies

These aren't bad, but price to performance wise, or no expense spared, they wouldn't be on my top three list.
On second thought, maybe there is somethig to be said comsidering their bass extension and price, but man the 101dB max spl gives me pause.
@@stevenswallYou can NOT take SPL figures at face value. Wisen up on that.
Conpanies measure it differently. Some do RMS, some do peak. And regarding RMS it can be for very different time-durations.
@@Tazmanian_Ninja I assume the company is trying to show their speaker in the best light possible if it's not specified. Don't think anyone is going to get burned that way.
And, I take Genelec SPL measurements at face value for example, because they will you how it's measured and you can see a light come on after a few seconds: "Maximum short term sine wave acoustic output on axis in half space, averaged from 100 Hz to 3 kHz at 1 m"
or
"Maximum long term RMS acoustic output in the same conditions with IEC weighted noise (limited by driver protection circuit) at 1 m"
Would be nice if it were standardized or there was a database though. Erin's Audio Corner does some good tests to see when and how compression happens at a speakers operating limits.
