  • Graham Ezzy shares his favorite exercise for building windsurfing muscles when you're not able to windsurf. The forearm cramp is a common problem for windsurfers getting back on the water after a prolonged break. The towel-grip pull up can help.

    Why is this better than a normal pull-up Graham?

      Grip strength. Your forearm has to work much much more when it is holding on like this rather than hanging from a horizontal bar. When I was in college and not windsurfing much, I did these with a thick rope, but I think a towel works just as well.

    I will give it a try as I can do many normal pull ups but my grip strength fails quickly when windsurfing
