My neighbor gets some as a single father with 3 kids that he has 90% of the time because his ex contributes nothing - with that custody agreement she should be paying him, but she can’t apparently. He has a fairly decent paying factory job so some of it went down.
And you know what, that’s fine by me. I’ll happily pay a couple extra bucks in taxes to help him and those kids out so they get a chance at a good life.
The person you are replying to probably thinks it is too much work to go above the threshold. While I feel for this person if that’s actually legitimate - If 2k income in a month bounces them off of government assistance - there’s a lot more to the story.

Didnt he move his assets to family members and to companies he was involved in? They mention a home in Florida but if he isnt claiming it as his main residence it can be use to be sold. If he claims it his residency it is protected by Florida law that protects people from civil suits against their residence.
