Sweet FXR really nice to see that there are guys down under loving these great bikes, have a -88 low rider with a 80cu evo ported heads big valves and S&S crank high comp pistons red shift cam HSR 42 and Dyna ignition, around 100Hp and tons of torque, also putting together another run down -87 over the winter, cheers from John ON Canada.
@@jimmyrustles8118 Hi I am not a 100% yet build of motor will basically be a copy, really nice motors as I appreciate the evos and Older motors, not a Twin cam person, myself but hey nice way to get cheap horsepower, the cost of building a motor is just unreal, with todays prices, would be nice to try your front end set up, must really make a huge difference? Had a -89 FXR back in 1998, when I lived in Sweden. So many years of riding and wrenching old Pans and Shovels, which I still do especially the wrenching part, but when I got hold of this -88 FXR a few years ago, I dont feel like riding my other old bikes as much, such an allround bike with attitude. Your bike looks like a very refined CVO bike having that kickass paint job.
Cheers mate, yeah it is. I forgot to mention that, one of the things I love about the setup is how quick it spins up, very quick revving with good torque to go with it.
Wow riding video really shows how it all works, really well. Did you say it runs standard carby dyna ignition system rather than thunderheart. Could ya do a short vid showing this. Regards from South aus.
Cheers mate, yeah it runs well but Im definitely riding it beyond how it probably should be ridden given components and heights. But its good that it can still hustle along. With ignition, yeah, its not running a Thunderheart. In my opinion its wayy to basic and you can have an ignition system thats leaps and bounds ahead for not much more effort at all. My setup is similar to most 88cu carb bikes, but I can definitely do a run down of the setup and what it needs. Applicable to any TC motor in a custom application really, or someone wanting to convert. Ive got all the components for the next build on the bench ready to roll.
Sorry if I missed it in the description but was wondering what RPM you have it set at idle? Getting a 110ci for my Twin Cam & S&S tell me no less than 1000...cheers
I'm aware of the lifter issues (and already have new ones ready to roll), 96's engines aren't anything to write home about either, their cranks are generally atrocious. Engine choice was because it was available to me, brand new (removed from a bike at the dealer before it rolled out with a 120R) for cheaper than the cost of a second hand evo. I could have bought a 96, or 103, and taken it out to 107, and spent money one everything else. But this was brand new, no need to open up, motor. New one im building is a Timken bottom end, which is by far and away the way to go for a stock case.

Dude, that's truly a work of art. Beautiful Peace. Love FXR.

Much appreciated mate. Your 88 sounds like an absolute ripper. Whats the plans for the 87?

Man what a ripper! looks super snappy. Sounds great too.

Wow! This bike is absolutely insane!
Sick FXR though. 🇺🇸
Beautiful 👌
Bet that's a fun ride... 110ci in an FXR is crossing the threshold into gnarlyness! Fuckin RAD BIKE.
Yeah it's definitely a bit rowdy

Did you say youll lose your license if you're caught doing 80mph on the highway?
Bike rips bro!!!

Mines generally around the 1100 mark
Good job bro! your build turned out great - she is beauty and a beast!! Seems like she is real ripper in the canyon! what RPM in 6th at 70mph?
Cheers mate, I appreciate it. @ 70mph it sits right around the 2600 mark.
Nice build - I think the front forks should have been painted blue to match the rest of the bike - but still nice.
You dont really 'paint' aluminium fork stanchions,. I did consider having them reanodized but it would be wayy to much I reckon.
Nothing better than to wield therapy I enjoyed the ride next best thing
Hope you've been getting your bike out and about. Wicked thing-
Clean as FUCK! Dope bike mate🔥
oh you're in Australia. No wonder you're riding on the opposite side of the road..
What bike would these forks be found on? Or are they only aftermarket?
They're early R1 forks 👍
With all of the reliability and build quality issues with the 110 curious why you chose that engine over a 96 that could be bored out to a 103 ?

6 speed evo transmission wtf????
Yes, not HD brand
So sad that you have communism in there having sweet bikes and no ability to ride them fast😢
