@@JG-mg3if the tone has only improved. As the break in happened for the exhaust it picked up additional character to the deep tone, especially at the top of the rev range, its unique and "rallycar-esque" in its tone and how you hear the air moving out. I love it even more!
So @8:10 for the spring bolt did you have to get that backing nut yourself or is it included in our exhaust already? Sorry I haven't looked under the car for myself yet and I didn't quite grasp what you meant. Spring bolt plus backing nut seems like a must
On the stock GR Corolla exhaust, the flange from the midpipe to the exhaust has a welded-on nut for the spring bolt. On the 2J Racing midpipe, it is a threaded opening for the same spring bolt. We added that backing nut as added insurance, even though it was secure.
@@CarQuicks Suprisingly enough, the GRC is louder than the FL5 Type R stock to stock lmao. Made my buddy with an FL5 wanna get an exhaust. I'll probably do a solid downpipe/midpipe combo + tune in the future!
Nope. No check engine light at all. Remember you are still retaining all factory items, but if you were to run a downpipe and remove the 02 sensors, etc. that would trigger a Check Engine Light.
It adds to the performance. Which could be a controversial take from some people, but I've been in multiple stock GRCs before this is added and beside sound the midrange gets a bump.
So, in driving the car for as many miles as I have, there is no drone. What this does more so is improve the tonality of the stock exhaust (if you are running a OEM exhaust).
No issues for me or my friend who is running the mid-pipe. I will soon be doing a follow-up install of my own on this mid-pipe for the stock exhaust and hopefully in time for an aftermarket one I have in mind.
Not with the midpipe. The only thing to know with warranty is if the a part you are trying to warranty has been altered. For instance, if you change the midpipe, do something wrong (don’t know what that could be lol), but if you did, and went to Toyota saying something is wrong with my exhaust… if the area you are needing work or warranty work completed, is at the midpipe or is due to the midpipe installation, then you can run into a warranty issue or a denied claim.
@@takoyakipapi Ty that is one of the ugliest badges I have ever seen. Why you would want to put an ugly ass Hyundai looking badge on a GR Corolla is beyond me.
Compared to the stock mid-pipe setup, you will save a few pounds. Nothing as crazy as titanium, but there is weight savings, alongside the benefit of even higher quality stainless steel/T304.
I wouldn’t know the exact number, the unofficial butt dyno says something around 10-15HP, but until we hit an official tune to extract all power I can’t give definitive answers. It does sounds great though!
Brother, that 2J MP sounds FANTASTIC. Thank you for this video.
Man! I can't get over it! I'm glad you enjoy it!
Shipping for mine is next week. Is it still on the GR and how you enjoying it? Has the tone changed with some time and miles on it?

@@CarQuicks great to heard. Waiting patiently for my MP.
Just put my preorder in. Thanks for the video!
That’s awesome! You’ll love it!
Have you received your? Thinking about ordering one and it’s saying a 10 week waiting on their website
Sounds 10x better!
An immediate improvement!
Wow thanks brother, I am going to order this!
No problem! You’ll love it!
the GR already sounded nice stock, this sounds a lot better.
I was wondering myself how it would be and RIGHR after he started the car I was like “Order another one!” 😆
Nice 4Runner back there 😉
You can definitely hear the difference in tone. Sounds really good 🤙
One of the best colors Toyota ever did on the 4Runner!
@@CarQuicks I would definitely agree! The Solar Octane and the Voodoo Blue are ❤️🔥
It sounds good in that video! Hope u can do another video soon without that weird sound in the background.
Damn I been looking and wondering how it would sound with just a mid pipe. Thanks for the video guys 👍🏽
You and me both, and now I need this mid-pipe.. haha!
The 2j racing brings the tone down to a lower decimal at idle and a deeper Rev
Yeah, the sound has more “substance/character” now, sounds really good low and high in the rev range.
sounds way better
Absolutely! I love how it sounds.

Good look on that theraded bolt
We found out that it’s really not needed but you rarely see a threaded flange design, so it threw us off.
Damn I just got my car yesterday and I want to put this on already lmao
I've heard from some owners the sound change on this part was enough to have them not go get a full exhaust.
@@CarQuicks Suprisingly enough, the GRC is louder than the FL5 Type R stock to stock lmao. Made my buddy with an FL5 wanna get an exhaust. I'll probably do a solid downpipe/midpipe combo + tune in the future!
Did the check engine light come on after you installed it?
Nope. No check engine light at all. Remember you are still retaining all factory items, but if you were to run a downpipe and remove the 02 sensors, etc. that would trigger a Check Engine Light.
Does this affect performance in any way? Sounds so good
It adds to the performance. Which could be a controversial take from some people, but I've been in multiple stock GRCs before this is added and beside sound the midrange gets a bump.
How's the cabin drone? Can you do a inside sound clip comparison?
So, in driving the car for as many miles as I have, there is no drone. What this does more so is improve the tonality of the stock exhaust (if you are running a OEM exhaust).
I could hear the difference
In person the sound is a very nice deep tone.
Just ordered one, appreciate the boots on the ground work with this! random but did you notice any additional turbski noises?
Definitely more turbski noises… more subtle on the stock exhaust, but once you go aftermarket it will open up alot.
Did you ended up getting your mid-pipe, if so how you like it?
Where did your friend get the module for the blinking third brake light?
I believe he got that through Amazon, but I'll find out.
Any bolt up issues to aftermarket rear exhaust?
No issues for me or my friend who is running the mid-pipe. I will soon be doing a follow-up install of my own on this mid-pipe for the stock exhaust and hopefully in time for an aftermarket one I have in mind.
This sounds insane!! What part of Texas are you in?
Thanks! Based out of Houston.
Is there any weight difference between the two mid pipes?
The 2J midpipe is lighter by a few pounds.
Not a huge diff, but definitely a fuller, more sonorous sound from the exhaust
Yes that's good way to describe it. The sound is fuller.
Downpipe soon? I got a white one too!
I’m waiting for the tuning options to become more available before taking the plunge to downpipes, but it will come soon!
I can hear the tone difference but did it make it any louder?
It is louder. It’s subtle and not in your face “loud”, but the volume is definitely more.
What emblem is that on the rear where the toyota goes?
That’s my friends GRC. It’s a Japanese emblem for the Corolla.
Are there any warranty considerations?
Not with the midpipe. The only thing to know with warranty is if the a part you are trying to warranty has been altered.

Did it set off any check engine lights?
ZERO check engine lights. Its been a few thousand miles now as well.
What the hell is that rear badge man 10:42
Toyota netz badge
@@takoyakipapi Ty that is one of the ugliest badges I have ever seen. Why you would want to put an ugly ass Hyundai looking badge on a GR Corolla is beyond me.
JDM Toyota Netz badge.
where that snake sound came from?
Haha! …probably Cicadas in the trees.
Does this require a tune?
Not at all. No CEL either. Just throw it on and go!
Where can I buy!?
You can get in on the current pre-order right here: www.2j-racing.com/corolla-gr/preorder-3-resonated-midpipe-corolla-gr.html
Any info on weight?

lol at tryin to record exhaust sounds with Cicadas loosing their shit everytime you revved the engine. Sounds good tho!
YO! They weren't saying anything ALL morning! 😭 As soon as I hit record they got something to say LOL
Sounds way better bro… 👍 any hp on the grc..

Those were Cicadas going nuts LOL
