      That's certainly a useful go-to tool which will tension a number of locks. An adjustable tool could be more versatile, but this is an excellent low-priced and slimline item. Thanks, Ash, for putting your time and effort into designing and promoting this tensioner. 🙂👍

    Yeah. I came across a tube lock with a tiny raised bump in the middle, that was a pain in the backside to tension because my (goat wrench) kept slipping off. So I decided to grind/file a notch in the center to allow for that little bump. I just gotta stop putting it off, get myself "a round tuit" and go ahead and do that.

    Two things strike me about this. One is that it looks much easier to carry in a case than the Goat. Wonderful though that tool is. it's a matter of time until its prong pokes a hole in something. It's the same kind of problem I have with my beloved Mad Bob curved tensioners: wonderful tools but tricky to squeeze into a tightly packed case.
    The second thing I saw was the price. I don't own any Multipick gear yet, but I was expecting you to say this tool costs 90 quid or something like that. I was not expecting the price to be as low as you indicated. Maybe I should look afresh at their range if they have introduced some offerings that don't require taking out a mortgage...

    Another great addition to the tensioner family. Very nice addition indeed. I have a goat wrench in my Multipick set. Can we expect a "goat" type addon in the future (I mean the little nose bit to tension underneath the ring on some tubular locks), or is that under some kind of copyright protection? Edit: Never mind, I saw that DEW already asked. :)

    • @deputydog1995
      @deputydog1995 2 года назад +1

      I bought the Sparrows goat wrench a while back, and then I encountered a lock with the ball bearing. I used a round needle file to put a notch in the goat wrench, similar to what Lock Noob's new tensioner has, so it could clear the ball bearing. And I filed down the inner flat area so it would reach deeper into the keyway. What LN has made here saves you all that trouble.

      Accept your reasoning and agree the one problem with my goat is that it doesn't fit well in a multipick case and duplicating a tool with another company doesn't make much sense.

    @kevenquinlan Год назад

    Hey Noob. I searched vids for tub tensioners and found yours. It looks good. Just as an fyi- metal on metal tends to not have much friction especially on the unnotched side. It's been a bain of these tensioners since I started pentesting. There are 2 good solutions to this= the angled tip that you have on one side= should be rubberized. You'll get much better grip on the metal that way. If you think it sounds too hard to produce, you could just put a little epoxy on it. When the grip coating on my DDT comes off, I just slather it in the shit and it grips like a mother fucker. Also, a design like a camera/phone holder for shooting videos, where you have a plate that rests in a fixed position and a spring loaded slide plate which allows you to open up the holder to whatever width and you release it and it stays. I have a cam/phone holder that you wear around the neck and I got the idea from that. You open it, insert it over the face of the lock, release, and it would hold much firmer than metal on metal would. The problem is always that these tools do not squeeze themselves against the bit? This isn't even a complicated solution. If you wanted to take that premise one step further, you could simply make a turning bit that would tighten like a vice, super simple, and you'd have something you could tension with just a finger. Place you clamp on the tub face, one side in the notch, one against the metal on the opposite side, turn until tight= easy peasy. Oh, I talked to you once before, I'm the dude from the states that lives in a university, lmao. Anywho, these ideas are really the way they should be made. I don't pick tub's just because not tensioner is worth a shit. I'm sure yours is probably better than whats out there, but all 3 things I said are easy fixes and would work better. Not takin the piss out of ya, just sayin. Cheers m8.
