I have carried full size pistols and revolvers for 44 years. I am 5' 7" and have no problem carrying full size pistols even in the summer in SE Texas while wearing T-shirts and shorts.
I just wanted to recomend a great leather holster for strictly 1911s, 1791 gun leather is what I carry all my 1911s in, great cant, high rise so even my full size doesn't hang down. 3 way holster on Amazon, don't buy to many I need 1 more. Oh yeah 47.00.
If you have a squeaky leather holster, you can put a bit of talcum powder inside the holster and shake it around with the openings covered, shake the excess powder out and wipe it down really well. I have used it to make saddles stop squeaking.
Don't wear baggy clothes unless you want to. Its America, do what you want with your freedom.
I consider the Glock 19 to be a full size firearm
I wear a shoulder holster, vertical type. In the summer I wear a light weight short sleeve fishing shirt with a pattern of some kind over my rig. Winter time I just wear a light weight jacket. Just started training with my first 1911. When I get it down well, it may be my EDC.
I've started wearing Duluth "fire hose" trousers. They have a little stretch but are very sturdy.
Sorry, no way am I ever going to IWB. Have a good Belt, OWB snap pancake and have no problem with a Kimber 1911. Custom made for gun>
I don’t wear solid light colored shirts, it’s easy to show the world you’re carrying. I choose a dark color and better yet a mixed pattern shirt.
I'm having Lonestar holsters in Texas make a 3 slot leather holster for my SAR P8S. Takes 2 months to get but will be worth it. I do have a good belt. I don't iwb at all. I'm 68 and weigh 225 at 5'10" tall so owb and shoulder is what I use
Just the video i needed!
Thanks for the great video. I too have carried sub compacts for quite some time and considering moving to full size. This is the best video by far showing examples and not just talking. Great work!
I bought a belt and holster for my 1911 from urban carry. Has a lock system that's keeps the pistol secure and is comfortable to wear. I agree the pants you wear make a big difference.
Always good to see a fellow devil dog out there, putting out knowledge for the safety of others. Even though I'm just a boot compared to the majority (OEF 2013), always appreciate the salt dogs getting it in. Semper Fi, brother.
Based upon your recommendations of the Masters holster for a full size 45. I got one over the summer and will try it out this winter, this is a great holster and save me a lot of money from other makers and this is just as high of quality.
Matt, thx for pointer towards Vedder holsters. Tried one for EDC EMP. Liked it enough to get 2nd for a full size 1911 that I never thought would be used for CC, it is now. Cheers.
Big Vedder holster fan myself, own one for every gun I own (even those I carry openly on the farm, etc.). Subscribing!
That's what I use a Vetter light tuck holster with their belt for my Glock 19. Their gun belt is very sturdy and supports the pistol very well.
Ha! I found one of those cheap holsters you showed. Fits my G19 perfectly. I don't wear it, but I did strap it low on the steering column on my minivan. Very easy to reach.
Hi Matt. I am new to your channel today and am impressed. You are giving me great info. I am in a wheelchair and struggle with a holster that will fit in my chair. I need to twist to get in but worry about being able to utilize my pistol if ever needed. I found a smaller holster that fits under a towel on the front of my chair it fits my G2C. But my PX9 and 1911 Commander I haven’t found a way to CCW. Continue giving us great info.
