I'd rather have a gun I can use effectively than "a big one" and the reason I know this is once I was forced to use my gun for self defense and after that I took a buttload of training courses. Learned an awful lot I can't learn just by watching vids or having conversations in a gun store.

I first started off with subcompact handguns
Will never go back to anything less than full sized~ less recoil, more stopping power(bc bullet velocity w longer barrel) & large mag size is such a relief ~~ I’m not even a big person I’m 5’7
Sub compacts just way too snappy (so it’s harder for follow up shots under stress only way to kinda fix this is to go down in caliber but why would I do that when I have less bullet velocity bc shorter barrel length), less capacity(so less chances to miss those follow up shots), and less bullet velocity
I carry a full size & a snub nose revolver in my pocket as an “ankle gun”
Full size is my main but if it goes down or I’m wrestling someone up close and need to fire a round through my jacket pocket or pull it out to press against someone while grappling I have a back up snub

For years, I've carried a full-size 1911 behind the right hip in a left-handed straight-drop IWB holster (cavalry style for a palm-out draw). When sitting, I can move the holster from the 5:00 position to 3:00 or 4:00 if necessary, which gets the grip out from behind, but is still concealed. I wear a good belt, but don't have to cinch it overly tight, because I wear Perry suspenders. A spare mag on the offside, OWB Fobus, and an outer shirt complete the set up. Very comfortable. In colder weather, I often go to a shoulder rig, since I'm wearing more layers and the IWB rig is harder to access than in summer.

I love that you begin the video defining terms. That must be your military training, because that's what I learned, too. Too many time I have had to leave a complaint on someone's video that they used acronyms or slang without defining the terms. One guy began discussing "EDC" without telling the viewers that it stands for "every day carry." If I didn't already know that, I could have gotten lost fast.

Just started carrying my full size beretta PX4. First holster I bought (thanks to reviews) was the alien gear 3.0 which you can get custom made for your gun. Ran me 50$. New ones have adjustable cant etc. I can conceal my full size beretta wearing cargo shorts and a regular sized t shirt. With a T-shirt I have to carry a little further back (around 5 o clock position) but the alien gear holster is actually super comfortable. Went out to lunch with my mom who is SUPER weary of guns. She never noticed I had it on. After the whole day asked if she noticed and of course she didn’t. Also, I use a Blackhawk riggers belt that I’ve had for years. Fits 99% of my pants and is super strong. Of course, you can’t really wear tucked shirts with a riggers belt but I never tuck my shirts in anyways so not a big deal. Anyways thanks for videos! Always learning something new!

Took a couple of Handgun courses with Front Site and during one of the legal briefings they stated it depends on the state you live in. Because they may have a law that if you print you could lose your permit to carry. Asked a few Deputy Sheriffs here in Washington and they said we do not have that kind of law but law enforcement preferred that you do not print.

Nothing but the facts... as always from ya. I have run a Bigfoot gun belt for about 2 years. Does not look like a gun belt or a tactical belt. It looks almost new still and I wear it everyday, all day. When I carry my full size I use Alien Gear 3.0. I can do this with most of my t-shirts no problem. Pant size has not been an issue for me. Not sure if it is just my body type and where I carry but not an issue. I have never been discovered that I know of. Like you said, most the time people are not looking at you like that. I did think about printing when I started concealed but don't stress it as much at all anymore.

I carry a full size HK 45 with a Leatherwing Holster from Blackpoint tactical, I wear Under Armour polos that seem to cover the print pretty well, I live in AZ so wearing anything thicker would cause death in the summer. Started watching your videos this afternoon. Good content and good, clear presentation. On shoulder holsters for conealment; I've tried both cheap and quality holsters. The only shoulder rig I'd recommend is the Galco Miami Classic, worn high and tight. I bought one last summer and wore it throughout winter and spring. Drawing in a timely manner wasn't an issue. However, I do prefer IWB carry. I also prefer to carry full size handguns like the Gen 1 Glock 17 (why I clicked this video) concealed under an untucked buttoned shirt or an appropriate sized T-shirt. I appreciate your relatable videos, keep them coming.

They certainly have their place. I used to spend a lot of time in a truck and basically only wore one during those times or just when I was in a hurry. I would throw it on like a jacket and head out the door. There were times that wearing it became uncomfortable, so I ended up having an IWB holster behind belt to switch to as it suited me.

Good advice on the shirts. I live in a warm weather area and so wearing a overshirt with an undershirt looks odd (and is uncomfortable). A good CCW T-shirt is one that is darker colored, not tight, and additionally has a somewhat thicker "drape" than many T-shirts today which are made of that lightweight wicking material.

I have a snub nose revolver that’s very easy to conceal but I’m a lot more uncomfortable only having a 5 round capacity as opposed to 14 rounds in my Glock G21. I would rather have more rounds & never need them than need them @ not have them.

Personally I like leather holsters better than Kydex. I carry my Springfield XD45 in a Front Line Tuckable Open Top Leather Holster. Yes 14 rounds of 230gr 45acp is heavy, but it's doable like you said, with the right holster and belt. Since my holster is leather the first thing I did was wrapped my XD in 2 sheets of regular baking wax paper and shoved it in my holster. The wax paper helps stretch the holster just enough so your gun isn't snagging on the leather when you draw. After letting my XD stretch the holster just enough for a few days, I worked the gun in & out of the holster while it was still wrapped in wax paper. The wax from the paper will transfer to the inside of the holster as your working the gun in & out. Just make sure when you wrap your gun the wax side is facing up. I learned this way of breaking in holsters from my old man who spent 8 years in Marine Corps and 20 years in the Secret Service.

Great Video! I have been carrying a full size sidearm concealed since 1993 and when using the right rig you can carry any size weapon you want no matter what your body type. most of the time I like to use Nylon Operator Belt from 511 or the Instructor also from 511. In the past 8 months of or so I started to carry my Gen 4 Glock 22 w/TLR-1 HL in a Bravo Concealment RTT holster I have also gotten similar rigs for my 1911 and Sig P226. I am from the Old School so I always have 2 additional mags with pouch, Gerber 06 is my prefered Tactical cutlery of choice at this time.

I live in Central FL so I am having to deal with high Heat and Humidity on a daily bases. Since I am retired I normally wear Cargo or Tactical type shorts with an wicking undershirt and a button type covert carry shirt from 511, TruSpec or Propper tactical apparel. Depending what my tasks are for the day and where I have to go out to determine what my EDC will be.
Right now if it's a quick trip to the grocery store I will carry my Sig P229R with either the 40SW or 357Sig barrel along with 2 additional mags, Gerber 06 Auto knife, Leatherman Kick, Wiley X Romer 3 sunglasses, RF protected wallet, Moto Z Force smart phone, Tactical Pen, plus a go-bag with additional mags and first aid kit. The holster of choice for my P229R Desantis Speed Scabbard which a very nice holster specially for the money. Desantis holsters are inline with Galco as far as quality, pattern, service life but at better than half price specially online sale.

af22raptor23503 I'm simply in Walmart cargo shorts, with a shirt I designed from my Armed & Steady line. Carrying my snubby Appendix in a galco sto and go, two HKS speed-loaders my m-tech knife, wallet, iPhone and a 150lum Walmart pocket flashlight..
I never dress tactical always just like the rest of the public..
I'm all about minimalism and blending into society.

I carried my Colt King Cobra for a while on a shoulder holster but when the Colt Snake guns jumped in Price I decided to make it a Safe Queen. I bought my wife a SW 38 Special Bodyguard and I have carried it a few times as a backup. I have been loading the Critical Defense 38 special what do you use for your Snubby?
I would like to get one of the SW R8 revolver that thing looks like a beast.

a little late to this one but still very useful and pertinent. Sig Emperor Fastback Scorpion 1911 .45 4" BBL strong side left. summer, IWB from We the People, at 45 deg cant. grip is tucked nicely under my arm just below elbow level, at about 8 o'clock. Carhartt tees. yes spendy tees for sure but worth it for this, plus the shirt pocket. gotta have it. and they're built to last. If it's really Sahara hot I just switch up to my Ruger LCPII .380 and an IWB leather/kydex hybrid. extra mag goes in the FOB pocket of my jeans or shorts, it fits perfect. I know I'm giving up stopping seeds but hey, if situation has gotten that bad, I'm up close and personal with bad guy I'm emptying mag anyway. Can't walk around looking like a sweathog all day. come winter up here in the great white north all I do is take said IWB and instead clip it to the belt inside the belt, but outside the pants and slide it further towards just under 9 o'clock. works great for me and keeps the holster herd thinned. my flannel shirts and jackets take care of the rest. no horses were harmed or scared during all this.
    Semper Fi.

I've been open carrying here in NC and the only ones that even realize I have a gun are police officers wondering what gun I have or other gun owner. I have Conceal Carry Permit but 90 percent of the time I open carry since the folks here are chill about it.

I have a Chiappa Rhino ds60 which has a 6-inch barrel, and I got a pretty decent hip holster that doesn't hook to the belt but it goes over both the belt and the pants and it fits to the Contour of your hip which cost me about 70 bucks on Amazon. But the only problem is finding the right clothes to hide the damn thing. Unless you're wearing a big ass Alvin and the Chipmunks t-shirt, the barrel will be sticking out the bottom of any button up shirt.

Wear skinny jeans if you prefer, but carry OWB cross-draw in pancake style. Yes, your full size gun will carry nicely under a loose tee and your rig won't be under your britches with your briefs. Pancake spreads the weight over a large area and keeps the rig close to the body. Easy access if you're driving-no hindrance from console, just make sure seatbelt is out of the way before driving. I've done this for many years. This, or a high-quality shoulder rig are the only two viable options IMO for carrying all steel full size pistols.

Have you noticed how hard it is to find a good belt. When I was younger you could find a quality leather belt just about anywhere. Now it's damn near impossible. I did finally after two weeks looking, managed to find one at a farm/feed store. There is a lot of fake leather out there. I also like the galco, and I found a heavy leather holster called azula that covers trigger and fits great. I'm only 5'9 and to hide the print I try to find big/tall t shirt. It seems to hide better for me.
