    Hi great video and thank you for proving torque values. I am not comfortable keeping the vehicle supported by the floor jack. Can you make a video on how to get the Pacifica on Jack Stands using a floor jack? Essentially looking for Jack point other than than the spot welds.

      @@ScottiesHobbies thanks I added you as a subscriber. Quick question, do you jack the pinch weld or the flat spot in front of the pinch weld where the triangle is? My bottle jack is too tall to jack the pinch weld, but will fit in the flat area in front of pinch weld where cutout is. That metal seems thin there.. thanks

    Can you do a video on at 2018 Pacifica service bulletin NUMBER: 02-011-18 ? This bulletin involves inspecting and if necessary, applying Green Loctite 290 to the front hubs SYMPTOM/CONDITION: Customers may experience the following:
    • A clicking or popping noise while traveling at low speeds and steering the vehicle left or right.

    Where on the vehicle did you line up a supporting jack stand? Or did you just let the jack hold the load?

    • @ScottiesHobbies
      @ScottiesHobbies  2 года назад

      I believe there is a small 3 ton jack under the front sub frame. not holding it up but only to stop it if the jack fails. Not the best way... I usually just slide a stand under their and raise as close as possible, then move on. I've been told I have too much faith in my jacks a few times..

    When doing the rear, DO NOT forget to put the brakes in (Service Mode) first, which will release the electronic piston for service.

    How did you know whether, or not you need new rotors? Where did you find the thickness specs for this model?

    • @ScottiesHobbies
      @ScottiesHobbies  10 месяцев назад

      The minimum thickness should be stamped on the rotor. Also, I can look in the brake spec book and it should be listed in there. What is the year/make/model you are working on?
      If the brake pedal is pulsating or you are grooved... just replace them. IMHO.
      You kind of have to weigh the price difference in having the rotor's machine compared to just replacing them this day and age. I find it a very similar price to replace them instead of having them Machined.
      Get me the info about your vehicle. And I will look in the book when I get home tonight.

    Thank you for the video. I'm daring to attempt a brake pad & rotor replacement myself. I have a 2018 Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid Limited. Would have i have to do anything different beause I have electric calipers - at least that is what one mechanic stated.

    • @ScottiesHobbies
      @ScottiesHobbies  Год назад +1

      On the rear you have electronic calipers. In that case you need to put the vehicle in 'brake service mode'. It's really simple if you need to do that. I dont have a video but im sure you can find one... if you can't, let me kmow and I can refer you to one later when i het home. Don't let these brakes be intimidating.
