Damn that looks so fun and so frightening at the same time. If you have done any offroad at all, this definitely looks the part. Sure there are no jumps, but enough opportunities to go into some rut and involuntarily jump, or rather fall,10-20+ feet. I can't wait to go ride again, it's been too long

Reminds me of my offroading in Japan with my bike-mates back in the day. At that time I had a Honda CRM250R with nobbies on which made it easy to do. With a TA (I own the same now) with onroad rubbers and the air pressure not lowered it´s certainly not real fun, it´s more like "I have to endure it, I have to really take care not to crash me and the bike"- kinda thing. Those Yamaha Zerrows and the like are really good for that kind of enduro-wandering. Regarding Kanto and Kansai: I lived two and a half years in the Kanto region and about 10 months in the Kansai region. I´m still often in both regions and my take is that the Kansai people are more relaxed than the Kanto people. It´s not judging about who is better or friendlier, it´s just a feeling. Take care and ride safe!

      Thanks.
      I'm on motoz tractionator adv.
I've made more friends 2 month in kansai than 4 years in kanto.

Hearing from the off road adv community, the people who've been there and done that, they all say it's best to learn on a smaller dirt bike before going up to an ADV bike. I think they're right(in retrospect) but I've done the same thing and jumped right onto a F650GS. Took some time later on my grandpa's 125 and learned so much.

Yeah, common mistake unfortunately. These kind of big adv bikes are not beginner friendly at all and often put people off from offroad riding all-together. Learning progress on a dirt bike or even a light-ish dual sport is so much quicker and heaps more fun. We always suggest people get a used crf 250/300 l for a starter and proceed from there.

35:34 Having taken an AT on a short offroad stint, they’re a whole different ballgame from the T7 and TransAlp! 😅

AT is maybe the best looking adv bike with a great sound, but that top heaviness in the dirt, no thanks😅
But better riders than me are having a great time with it

@ When it started to get loose, it just felt utterly unpredictable. Granted, this was the older 1000 AT, I can’t comment on the 1100.

@hokogan never had either off road, but on road the 1100 is a big step up

Glad you didn't hurt your leg. In my USER settings I have TC on 25% and am happy having ABS on the front wheel only. Im happy to use more back brake in certain situations on dirt and will happily lock up the back wheel to slow faster. Do you think with ABS on the front wheel you might have avoided the fall? I'm thinking about the LK switch but am leaning towards my user settings being superior to simply turning ABS and TC off.

Thansk, got bad when I got home and took the boot off, but all good now
Lsk makes the rear off and no tc.
Front abs becomes same as "gravel mode" abs, so semi active abs. They can't shutt the front off completely.
(I have an lsk video for details)

@DragoniteMotoJP Good to hear, might be sore for a few days. I'm getting older and a bit less flexible. I dread the thought of the inevitable tumble.
