Growing up in the USA, I thought it was the greatest and best country in the world. Sadly, I no longer believe that is true. Being less than 5% of the world’s population, its leaders still think they should dominate the world militarily. Over the past 50 years, China has raised hundreds of millions of people out of poverty and into the middle class. Over the same time the USA has marginalized the middle class and greatly increased the upper class. China did this mainly without using military force to exploit other countries. The USA did this while using military force to exploit other countries. They have also been exploiting their own citizens. I fear that you are correct in saying that they may be willing to destroy the world if they cannot be the hegemonic power because they think they will be the hegemonic power afterwards.

The occupants were working in the city. Neighbours let us in without concern. Even though we didn't know anyone there, we gave them hong bao. At that time, I had no interest in china and the trip had little meaning to me. My understanding of china and chinese language has much improved.

And found out on sundays in the wealthy shopping district neighborhood, Filipino house maids take over all the streets packing huge boxes of goods to send back to their kids in the Philippines as well as some dancing and just hanging out. Great show! I went to Hong Kong. And found out on sundays in the wealthy shopping district neighborhood, Filipino house maids take over all the streets packing huge boxes of goods to send back to their kids in the Philippines as well as some dancing and just hanging out. It’s Their 1 day off a week. I did not see that sort of thing at all in China. When you ride on the train in China You don’t see slums. Hong Kong has insane migrant labor and slum housing. Inshallah Hong Kong will be better off soon and not number 7 in the world for wealth inequality.
First step into his 2nd term as president, Trump's already doing all the wrong things. His 1st term MAGA failed miserably resulting in his loss to Biden. Instead of confrontations, why don't he try the better route of respect for each other, mutual cooperation for a win-win situation? Why must the US be provocative to achieve its goals?
