that's only because you hear from dispatchers more than you hear from your mother-in-law. so if you hear from your mother-in-law everyday then she will ruin your day more than dispatchers.
so if you want dispatchers to ruin your morning just make sure they're your mother-in-law.

This is when you track down the contact info for the dispatcher's boss.
Let them know that every time that a call is made during the break, a new 10 hour rest will be restarted, the harassment will be logged, and the boss will be contacted.
At a minimum, they'll get sick of the 3AM voice-mail notifications.
If they were smart, they'd get concerned that the company is getting exposed for corrective actions and fines for the reg violations.
Eventually, the person in charge will get a clue how often the dispatcher abused and harassed one driver. Then multiply it by the number of drivers that interact with that dispatcher.
They deal with a human factor problem with retraining or replacement. If they don't, they'll lose drivers in a driver shortage.

Last time a dispatcher woke my up on by 10hr, I asked If his call was work related. I proceeded to log on duty for 10 minutes while he spouted his mouth. I then proceeded to inform him, he interrupted my 10hr break with work related calls requiring me go back on duty and I can't drive for 10hrs in order to complete my rest break. Last time that ever happened...

The first time the dispatcher called during my 10, I switch to on duty not driving, and answered the phone to informed them that since they just interupted my 10 that I will have to start over and sent a message over qualcom saying being delayed due to multiple phone calls from dispatch and I will be delivering late.

I had a dispatcher that was a walking moron I dumped him in 3 days when they found their junker truck sitting at a storage lot they were pissed but when the truck broke down in the first 30 miles and kept breaking down and then was over heating in Kansas City I wasn't willing to spend all my time sitting in a hotel while they fought with a mechanic that said all new engine or it wasn't going to run I got another job and left the truck in storage

Looks like my morning so far. Guy asked me to give him a call this morning I told him I was going back to sleep for a couple hours because it's the only day of the week I get to sleep in, and I'd call him when I got up. He felt it was necessary to call me like four fucking times in like 2 hours while I was trying to sleep.

My dispatch at Prime Inc. uses a in house messaging system. If my FM ever threatened to write me up, I'd laugh at him. In terms of responding to messages, most the over night messages I rarely respond to unless it's really important. The portrayal of this DP is a joke. If this represents your DP, you need to find a better company.
