Lots of philosophies and religions are in large part about fixing this issue, to turn your goodwill to yourself and your present and the present of those around you. Jesus for example is a way of getting rid of living in the past (unconditional forgiveness) and redirecting your care towards things in the now

Shuzo got Best 8 in Wimbledon 1995, for the first time in 62 years for a Japanese tennis player. I really loved his playstyle.
I will come back to this video once in a while.

When I first read "living day to day", I thought it meant struggling to fulfill the day's needs like food and money, but he said "nantonaku ikiteru", which I think is more like living without much thoughts, like just existing.

And so I went to college and failed my first class by one point, having to relearn a lot of basics. I tried again and passed, getting one of the top grades in my class. From there on I studied with mostly top grades and got to the last year where I felt like I had lived this way forever, not remembering how my body could not feel the will to get stuff done. I achieved my dream of getting a degree, which none of my parents had accomplished, and my siblings had gotten practical degrees. For once I was not just in control, but I was powerful enough to work at what I wanted with a sense of "I did enough today".
Sometimes when i feel bad or my life starts to take a bad turn i watch this video and it always works in a strange manner.
