About Me
My name is Brandon Herrera. I'm the owner and operator of The AK Guy Inc, a 07 Firearm Manufacturer based out of Fayetteville, NC. I also co-own Stark Media Group, and designed the rifle known as the AK-50.
I've started to dedicate this RUclips channel above all to have fun, but also as a way to document my entrepreneurial journey for the next few years as I try to grow my companies. Hopefully, people can learn from my example, successes, and failures.
Either way, I'm having a lot of fun with it so far, and I hope it's just as fun to follow along!

I'm so glad you know how to safely deal with a light strike. I've seen too many people pull the trigger then get confused, then the gun discharges as they are pointing that thing in the air.
I suppose that's still much better than putting it up to your eyeball in an attempt to look down the barrel.
He owns a gun smithing shop and runs a RUclips channel dedicated to firearms. Why would he not know what to do with a light strike? Although better pointed in the air than at yourself or other people. Bullets that go almost straight up arent very dangerous (unless there happens to be a skydiver or aircraft right overhead). It will go up until it arcs over and then fall back down, reaching terminal velocity at some point, which for most common bullets it's nowhere near enough to really harm anyone. It's like having a pebble dropped on you, it might smart a bit. When people say how dangerous it is to fire into the air they mean that it's dangerous to fire upwards. If you are just aiming above the horizon, the bullet will just make a long ballistic arc and can be still traveling at significant speed when it comes back down way off in the distance.

11:00 you literally made me take my paper, pen and do calculate some physics, taking some approximations (like considering the barrel length of the pistol just 0.7 of the total 4 inches because of the cartridge, also adding penalty for the muzzle break) so it's very rough because I have no idea how great the penalties should be, but my guess is the pistol will have 885ft/s, which as I found later would be subsonic (not used to imperial units). Now I can resume the video with peace in mind haha
Edit: ok, penalties too great haha, 1236ft/s, still supersonic

Of course he does they come attached to aks, unless he throws them all away, which is possible.
Of course he does. They’re on most of his AKs -but they only are removed when he needs to scratch his back
The light strikes are hilarious to me, mostly because they're probably due to the firing pin struggling to reach across the 18 thou of extra space. Any farther out of spec and it probably wouldn't go off at all. That chamber depth is so unsafe that its only a few thou from becoming inert XD
So what you’re saying is, it’s so dangerous it’s almost safe? Lol
Any farther and it would be considered as a flintlock and require fresh dose of blackpowder ...
So when you fire a box of ammo the head space is so out of wack, it will be only a demo gun.... It also removes the need of cleaning after corrosive ammo....
Brandon acts like he knows what he's talking about....but I'll bet he's using CIP headspace gauges in a SAAMI chamber. If you look at the schematics there IS a difference in both the shoulder angle as well as the datum point where the depth is measured and slight rim variance. A CIP cartridge will drop deeply into a SAAMI cut chamber...which is what we're seeing here. If you look at the Heizer website ammo recommendations it specifies 'USA made (meaning SAAMI spec) non-lacquer coated ammo. Brass cased SAAMI spec ammo will work just fine so don't rag on the gun when you're too stupid (or is it on purpose to make a hit piece?) to use the correct ammo.
Just for reference all the 'problems' Ruger had with their Mini-30's was due to them being chambered for SAAMI ammo.....which worked flawlessly...but people insisted on trying to run CIP spec ammo which created excessive headspace and lots of misfires. Of COURSE it was the guns fault!!! Please people....READ what the manufacturer says to use in the gun you buy and more often than not...it'll work just fine. This example here is like putting lacquer thinner in your new car and then complaining 'it doesn't run right'. Sheesh.....
@@recoilrob324 why the FUCK would you choose 7.62x39mm as a chambering and also make it so that it won't run with the overwhelming majority of ammo out there that people have/would want to shoot? The .010 difference between go/no go is the cause of the light strikes. It also happens with revolvers firing single action vs double action. Double action hammer fall is shorter than single action. We saw a lot of that in bullseye competition with tuned and lightened triggers. A light strike is like Russian roulette in a revolver. A recipe for disaster, it can be much like a hang fire in blackpowder rifles. Bad news when you've rotated the cylinder to the next round.

Could it have been designed to shoot steel case? Im not well versed on how a steel case deforms but wouldn't it be less than brass?
@@luketimmer6108 might actually do better with steel, they’re usually cowboy loads so it shouldn’t have as much chamber pressure, and yeah steel won’t deform as much as brass so it should be better in that regard too. He should check the velocity with steel also so that we know how much it loses, not that any of us want it, but rather a morbid curiosity. If he wants to re build it I wouldn’t integrally suppress it, but he can get the head spacing right and leave out the ports. Then maybe it might be able to handle the brass. The light striking is probably due to it not being spaced right, if that was fixed, it’d probably work better.

I honestly thought you were gonna yeet that thing at the target after you mentioned how you should've sprung for a Glock🤣
Brandon: "This is the worst firearm we've ever tested."
Ian from Forgotten Weapons: "Hold my Zip .22..."
#akgnotificationsquad
At least the Zip 22 had good headspace. Unreliable, but not at risk of blowing up.
This legit seems like a worse gun.
Those were hit or miss - mostly miss but I picked up one new from an auction for $70 & as long as I use decent ammo (no lead nose bulk pack) it runs without issues using the bx25 mag. It was an impulse buy, but it's fun to look at & someday will probably be worth some $ because of how crappy most were, nobody keeps them...
@@Stevarooni no instead you run the risk of shooting yourself in the hand with the zip, which i guess is the lesser of the 2 poisons as its probably the hand you don't shoot with that gets injured (not to mention the pocket ak potentially throwing shrapnel at you) XD
zip 22 is a headshot pea shooter in phantom forces
Brandon this is a great product! You can open carry it, that way if an attacker grabs it they have garbage and you've still got your real EDC in your jacket (or wherever you keep your concealed firearms)
Brilliant
His real EDC is Makarov in leather shoulder holster
Just don't load it either XD actually you could do that with any gun.
Usually keister carries

“shooting squirt, which we all know is actually pee” That killed me.
I thought he was just dissing the soda, but reading it makes sense now
🔫 Squirt is pee 💦
It comes from the bladder 🩸 and out the pee 💦 hole 🕳. Sex 👌🏻👈🏻 causes urine 💧to produce much faster 🏃♀️ in vagina♈️🌸🚺-havers 🕳. It’s clear ⚗️ because it was made 🛠super fast 🏃♀️ and doesn’t 🚫have much (if any) toxins 🦠🧫 in it.
*Not 🚫🙅🏼♀️saying that it’s bad👎🏼. Just saying 👄 what it is. If some squirted 💦 on🔛 you 👉🏼👨🏻, you 👉🏼👨🏻got pissed 💧 on 🔛 and that’s ok 👌🏻. Be proud 🥳of it👍🏼💃🏼🕺🏼. The end🔚.
Now the whole firing range is covered in pee-equivalent...
@@RussXnimbusX42 bro just googled your comment thinking it was a copypasta.
I'm disturbed to find that you in fact freestyled that, off-the-dome.
I had a delayed, but gratifying reaction on that one.
You know what this means, Brandon; you... No, WE must make an actually-functioning pocket AK. It must be done. For science.
And a pocket 50 cal
@@billselby149 I'm pretty sure that's the sawed down double barrel I've seen in one of the cursed gun videos.
Have a 4 round vertical clip. The rounds point at an upwards angle, and the action flip the barrel upwards to accept the round
@@billselby149 well, we should leave that to the experts... like Kentucky Ballistics

You actually put Skittles in the grip. I love you, dude

Destiny gun moment
These were actually designed to be air dropped over Elbonia for their resistance fighters because of all the 7.62 ammo floating around
Especially since resistances frequently used guerilla tactics, so they would load this bad boy up, kill a guy and take the new gun
@@dbio305 don’t need enough ammo to kill the entire army, just enough to get more ammo.
Ah yes, the Elbonian liberator
Basically a modern day FP-Liberator pistol from WW2. Those where cheaply made, terrible trigger, and one had one shot (although you could actually carry extra .45 ACP in the grip. If the head spacing was correct and you could actually hold a couple rounds in the grip, it would be great for arming rebels forces. Pretty sure the reason it won’t break open is that extra spacing is allowing the case to move back and expand some. Really surprised it didn’t blow up. But it us easy to conceal and get ammo, just walk up to the guy with a “real” gun and kill him and take his gun.
i didn't realize this was a shitpost till I googled the country
