As always I tell my youtubers...I was raised a jw and I left when I was 17 in the 90's. I'm now 48 and I never looked back or never talked to another witness and then just discovered these ex jw videos this past year and it just blew me away. I thought I was done with Jehovah and all the memories but after watching these videos it stung me and brought me back for closure and I've been binging channels and videos left and right and it's crazy!! BUT...watching all these videos has given me closure and peace of mine and it feels great as I've never ever talked to anyone about my past being a jw witness. I thought I was the only person on planet earth that dealt with this cult stuff. I'm glad I'm able to talk and listen and watch videos on this format and I love all you guys out here. Thank you for posting these videos. I felt over fed with Spiritual food, then over the past 25 years I was spiritually constipated, then now watching these videos I was given a laxative and now I have taken a Spiritual Poop and now I feel damn great with a spiritual wipe and flush and I feel free, light, and great!!! Whooo!!! Great Video! A+++
This is exactly my situation. I discussed my findings with a girlfriend, boom, everyone else heard of what's on my mind. Never ever discusse your research with anyone
Thanks for great interview..Celeste is so open, honest and natural..would love to read her paper on homosexuality.. My husband and I left 7 yrs ago ..it was extremely hard to leave..but it was the best decision ever.... things may have changed since we left but as far as I remember apostasy/spiritual endangerment is not grounds for divorce ..it is grounds for separation.. which often after separation one of the two often enters into a relationship with someone else..and boom.. adultery!..grounds for divorce! Always a loop hole... Peace, love and joy to all... and FREEDOM! Such an amazing gift!!..
Vevian, what a great interview! Celeste has such a beautiful energy. She reminds me of a couple from my old congregation. Cognitive dissonance can really make you dismiss soooo many red flags. Love that you got out.
I also found myself in a similar situation as Celeste after I woke up and told my husband I no longer want to be a JW and listed my reasons. Turns out there was no love from the beginning in my case. So happy you were in love at one time but sorry it didn’t last.
Dating in the organization feels unnatural/cringy, and the JW culture forces real young marriages to happen. Unexplored and inexperienced relationships bound by guilt, shaming and complete control over every thought that crosses your mind. I had major difficulties after marriage, and can relate a lot to your story. Thank you for sharing
