I know absolutely how you feel Vivian. I was a JW for 63 years, until November of 2013. That's I started waking up to the fact, that that corporate was false. I now knw the real truth. I have just slowly faded away and feel so free now. I love Jehovah, Yahweh or Yahaweh or whatever our true heveanly fathers name is, more now than all my 63 years as a JW. Also my understanding and love for Jesus Christ has increased dramatically. Hang in there and kniw you are loved by Jah and Jesus Christ. Take care and be happy. Tom T.

Vevian, I should have commented first on your video. Well done! Thank you for sharing. For the first time I felt validated for all my feelings. I felt a total affinity with you as my fate was very similar to yours. It stole my childhood and future prospects as a young adult. I am learning to let go of anger and resentment. As you said Live!
I was very shocked to realize its a cult. I am so happy to have "woke up". Freedom from oppression, judgement, guilt and fear. etc.
There is a loss of family and community. Its a small price to pay.
I think its worse being born into this religion, our choice was taken from us. Finally I get to choose, I walked away.
We are told right from wrong, I have discovered I don't need to be told anymore. I am a good person, I have morals and ethics.
Just posting a comment was a huge step. Its wrong to watch your video and comment! haha
Thank you for your positive attitude. I am not alone anymore and the best part FREEDOM!

Thank you so much for sharing this part of your past Vevian! I am in Michigan and married to a Chaldean. I had several friends in the Chaldean congregation. I faded many years ago so my JW Mom still talks to me because she needs help. In fact my husband just asked me last week "why is there no one of Jws helping your Mom out, just me her Catholic son in law does everything"? I told him because the Jws have no idea what unconditional love is. It occurred to me after marriage that the Chaldean community can be oppressive to many women like the Jws are. It seems you had double subjugation to overcome. I am so glad that you did just that and I am looking forward to go and listen to your podcasts as soon as I have time.

I was disfellowshipped 6 months ago, watching this video made me cry. I wrote my letter 2 months ago, but the elders never told me anything. I just want to be able to talk to my family. This whole time that I’ve been disfellowshipped, I’ve had a really clean life. Because of my beliefs and feeling guilty all the time lead me to get marry 3 days before I was announced disfellowshipped. I just can’t believe how one mistake can lead you to not talk to your own family. If I could go back to summer 2016 when I got baptized I would... I would have never gotten baptized if that meant signing a contract that meant I could never talk to my family or friends for making mistakes. I don’t see why men have to judge me, I just want Jehovah God who sees me and knows me to judge me.

The JWs are not capable of this because they are always in "control mode". This counterintuitive "mode" makes JWs more and more fragile, sick, neurotic, and ultimately unhappy and uneasy about themselves. Welcome to Watchtower society.

I feel your pain. I grew up a JW since the age of of about 2 or 3 yrs of age. Everyone in the religion feels as if college is a worldly influence. My parents struggled financially with 5 kids and my father was a laborer and my mother did not work, the elders and society at the time discouraged the spouses that being exposed to the world would be detrimental to the family and the congregation. I've always felt that had my mom taken on even a part time job the struggles of the family would have been lessened. The religion does not love it's members if they did they would not want to see it's members hurting. I also felt as if we were forced to go to meetings. My parents used to tell us if we as children dont go to the meetings we were going to have to clean, and would not be allowed to do anything. So we were punished instead of helped to understand why it would be in our best interest to go t ok the meeting. Long story short all 5 of my siblings did not follow my parents into the religon. O
I felt as if the actions of the religion caused a lot of self esteem problems. Like you said having low self-esteem causes issues in your relationships. For many years I was mentally abusive towards my wife and son. I am embarrassed and remorseful for treating them that way. I am grateful that she did not give up on me, and within the last 3 years I've began to see a shrink and have started sorting out the psychological effects of the religion. I've re-learned how to treat and how to love my beautiful family.

Hi Vevian! WOW! What an incredible journey and story! I am so horribly sorry for what you experienced, through and through. Just, WOW! So FOUR "reinstatement" letters and the elders still did not even budge. Incredible! Happy you found your freedom! You got baptized two years after I did. I actually grew up in Chicago and walked into the Borg in 1992, baptized in May 1994 in Romeoville, IL, the AssHall outside Chicago. I really just woke up in 2017 about 20 months ago.
That "Return to Jehovah" brochure they came out with at the conventions 3-4 years ago coincided with the enhanced shunning protocol that Watchtower and the Guttering Booty clowns in New York like Tony "Tight Pants" "Lotta Dead Bodies" Morris was pontificating from public talk platforms.
This Borg has flip-flopped so much since we were baptized. It sounds like you were around the Dearborn, Michigan area (wild guess) before your stay in Chicago. Were you actually in Chicago or the suburbs? I was twice a ministerial servant at the 1250 Farwell KHall - North Shore in the Rogers Park neighborhood before my then-wife in JW and I bought a home in the south suburbs in 2007.
Sounds like you've been through the absolute ringer. My prayers are that you have found serenity, tranquility, true happiness (non-JW style🤣) and, as you made a great point, you are living much more your authentic life!!!
May you and your husband continue your trajectory toward a continuously fulfilling future and be blessed! And I hope and pray that your family and friends will start to observe the REAL "new light" that this high-control organization of watchtower run primarily by old white men in New York is really an ailing, dying business corporation and publishing company masquerading in disguise as a "religion".
A number of my neighbors I grew up with in Chicago - non-JWs - were Iraqis and of Chaldean background. Truly fascinating history and culture - so much more than what Watchtower ensnared us and kept us captive in - mentally and physically!
Time to go rebuild my own life here in Wisconsin at age 46 going on 47! God bless!

WOW DAVE! Thank you SO much for taking the time to write such a detailed comment! Love your sense of humor:) I grew up about 20-30 minutes away from Dearborn. My father actually had a liquor store in dearborn from when we moved to America to 1996. I then went on to live in Lincoln Park(like 10 minutes from Dearborn) when I was married. When I lived in Chicago, I was in Edgewater. What made you "wake-up" 20 months ago?

I got to uncover their cult practices in divorce court! I am not a JW and my wife left me because I would not convert. My lawyer told me to stay away from talking about her religion, but my daughter was deeply disturbed and afraid so I "let er rip". The Judge stopped the proceedings twice and asked me "is that a real thing?"..........made some notes and was a completely different person on the next court date. He was very harsh towards my wife and I got full physical and legal custody of our daughter!
People are starting to wake up to this cult and I am really diggin it!!!

For the first couple of years I was missing them. But after that the longer I have been away the more I never want to go back. Especially after I learned about how dirty the gb is by things like being part of the he UN. Covering up child abuse. And much more! I never did any psychedelics. I heard some good things about them though. I'm especially curious about DMT. That's what got Mike Tyson to give up boxing. I may need to check out your podcast. :-)

I was a jehovah's witness as well since childhood, I had no choice on religion when I was little and pretty much had to go through with it. Now my entire family left the cult completely. I feel uncomfortable around it, there was something about it that just didn't make me feel safe. I get nervous around religion. I feel you don't need a religion just to believe in god so, I'm not in any religion. I believe in god and every thing my family and I celebrate birthdays and holidays but we're not in the cult anymore. I didn't like that they claim family is so important but yet they cut all ties with a person just because you do something like celebrate a birthday or something they kick you out and your not allowed to talk to anyone, It was stressful and upsetting. I'll never join a religion again please becareful out there people.. I have friends outside of the religion and they didnot approve of that and I stopped going instantly my friends are important to me as are my family. If they aren't welcome, neither am I

i´ll never understand what disfellowshipped people are getting to miss and try to get reassembled.
when i´ve signed out from the organisation, i felt free - i realized that i´ve had the freedom to decide on my own what to do, what to believe, who to be friends with. i never felt lonely or shunned, never. because i did not miss anything, i did not feel a loss of something.
i think most exjw, as i can hear it on and on here on you tube, are not used to live on their own, make their own decissions, find their own social network. i mean people, you are not legaly incapacitated, use your brains!

My mom's threats of sudden Armageddon and bipolar personality and
arbitrary beatings left me with no sense of purpose and a lifetime of
anxiety and panic attacks. I left that cult when I was 18 and never want
to hear from them again. And I won't even go into detail about the
"brother" who groomed me and my older blood brother but only managed to
    molest one of us.

Amen! My older brothers won’t speak to me or look at me and I’m not even DF’d. But I completely understand, there comes a point when it comes down to you or me, and I’m choosing me! I tried for so long and never once ever had any of them say a kind word to me, ever! All I ever got was how I’m not doing enough, I’m not submissive enough, I don’t comment enough, go in service enough.....whatever, and that’s when I was going to all the meetings and out in service, even auxiliary pioneering. It’s not me, it’s them. Congrats on your new and better life!

My aunt is a Jehovahs witness and she almost let her son die after an accident because she didn't want him to have a blood transfusion. If other family members hadn't stepped up he would have died because of this. This cult is crazy to be honest.
PS. She still is in contact with the rest of the family even though everyone is Catholic
