    • @karleewabo
      @karleewabo 2 месяца назад +1

      @@andredaedone5 after less than a month after starting carnivore, 100% of the inflammation in my knees and shoulders vanished, from a life of sugar, wheat and everything in between, plus a ACL tear and both shoulders popping/tearing. Now I lift as close to daily as possible. Heavy for a 60/yo in my opinion. Anyway, I’m down to high school weight and easy to maintain eating till I’m satiated and really full. As much as I want. I searched my whole life for that diet I could eat as much as I wanted, and maintain my weight loss. It’s literally the only style of eating that permits that. Plus you feel at your maximum potential eating meat and eggs only. Don’t know about you, but I’m never going back!

      @@karleewabo I am high school weight also..6 feet@160 lbs. Many good things have happened to me. My grey hair is pretty much gone. Thinning hair filled in. Gum disease gone. All my joints are amazing . I am working on a little bit of fat around my waist,.I think that stayed around because I was still eating too much on Carnivore. Now I have reduced it some and I do fast three days a month which started today. My prostate is much better and I can stand up while peeing again.. I lift heavy weight like when I was in my 30s. I am staying Carnivore also and am looking forward to new things happening in the next year.

    What’s even more baffling are friends and family members who can literally see how we’re being cured by carnivore, even with weight loss that amazes them, yet they still can’t accept and avoid carnivore. The hold of carb and sugar addiction on them is too strong. Then they complain when something hurts and all I could say is “because of the food you eat.”

      Agreed it did not sound like he was on board with the idea. And not all things heal on carnivore I am a year in strict carnivore basically just eating fatty homegrown beef now and my low back pain is still bad, I'm committed for life because so many other things have improved. Hopefully it will heal in a few years but I did not get the quick relief so many others got.

    • @edennis8578
      @edennis8578 2 месяца назад

      @@nathanielfriesen2251Yes, it took two years for JP's wife to heal her shoulder issue. I imagine that the more severe the damage, the longer it will take to heal. I have an old knee injury that hasn't healed after almost a year on carnivore, but I also have a hard time getting the optimal amount of protein. I was never a big protein eater and even now, knowing what I know, I only eat 1/4 of what I need if I don't pay strict attention. My hair is growing back, though, and my skin is noticeably thicker, so carnivore is definitely having an effect.

    No one should have to supplement electrolytes on Carnivore. One thing that people don’t know is that the goal of Carnivore is not to stay in too deep of a state of ketosis, which is what causes electrolyte wasting. You have to trigger gluconeogenesis, which is a process done by the liver. This process converts protein, and fat into glucose in a specific amount for specific cells. This process also triggers an insulin *pump* not a *spike* which is absolutely necessary for our body to retain electrolytes; insulin is an important hormone. Chronically low insulin is detrimental. Gluconeogenesis is very controlled by our body so as not to have too much glucose circulating our blood, and filling up cells because it becomes inflammatory, and can even cause cell death, which is why longterm diabetics get amputations.
    In order to trigger gluconeogenesis you have to eat a large enough bolus of meat & fat in one sitting/meal. Some people can get away with smaller meals, but most cannot.
    This information is from an actual research scientist named Bart Kay. He gets into the nitty-gritty of science behind our bodies & the Carnivore way of eating.

    • @josefinecarlsgart
      @josefinecarlsgart 2 месяца назад +2

      Gluconeogenesis is there all the time if you don't eat cards, but you need a protein bolus that is big enough to trigger a bit of insulin over baseline. Otherwise you can stress your kidneys out in the long run. But we're talking maybe 20-50 units in total. Permanent ketosis is mostly important if you have serious neurological issues, but the rest of us are usually better of cycling a bit in and out.
      So, yep, good points.
      💪🥩🇸🇪🧡

    • @odious5317
      @odious5317 2 месяца назад

      I’m aware, but it isn’t to the degree it is when you’re not eating carbs, and sugar. And that is exactly right; just a bump over baseline for insulin.
      Yep, more good points! Thanks for adding to my comment. It helps people get a deeper understanding of this whole thing, and how they may be hindering their results.
      💪😋🥩🇺🇸❤️

      Yes it is, and yes I know the correct pronunciation (which is Fair-een-yo), but as with many Italians my Grandparents Americanized their names when they immigrated here at the turn of the 19th to the 20th century, and it’s what I’ve known for my whole life.
      When I visited Italy in 2006 I heard it pronounced properly on a regular basis for the first time.

    If you eat vegetables on a regular basis, you're probably ketovore or meat-based. I think some people just like to call themselves "carnivore" because they think it sounds cool.

    When you realized you had leaky gut what was your carnivore protocol at that time? Were you lion diet early on or did you eat a variety of animal products?

    • @FerrignoFreedom
      @FerrignoFreedom  2 месяца назад +1

      I went straight into the Lion Diet. Attempts to reintroduce non-ruminant meats have either caused digestive difficulties or weight gain so I haven’t continued to pursue them; it’s not the same for everyone.

    You heal damage to joints with exercise. My left labrium was torn and by progressing from doing dips on the edge of a swimming pool to doing dips with bands on s dip bar as well as the over head press i have made my shoulder stronger than it was. Quitting all the starch and sugar will reduce inflamation but exercise is the only way to improve.

    • @FerrignoFreedom

      It depends on what type of carnivore diet and what your needs and goals are.
      On the Lion diet it’s only salt, at least initially. You can try to reincorporate others later, just permanently avoid anything with sugar like ketchup or BBQ sauce.

    • @FerrignoFreedom
      @FerrignoFreedom  2 месяца назад +1

      Oxalate dumping is one possibility, but another big one MOST everyone on any diet experiences is low iodine; itchy skin is a symptom of both.

    Should i buy 80/20 ground beef or get more lean to lose fat in lion diet

    • @Kyarrix
      @Kyarrix 2 месяца назад +4

      The opposite, you want more fat in the meat.

    • @FerrignoFreedom
      @FerrignoFreedom  2 месяца назад +5

      I never even considered getting less when I started Lion Diet and the weight fell off, but I also didn't eat very much burger meat until I started buying whole cows. 80/20 isn't considered "high fat" carnivore anyway.
      I am currently experimenting with a lower fat version of my diet lately, but I have been on high-fat carnivore for over a year. The burger meat I've been eating is more like 70/30, so I personally wouldn’t worry about 80/20 being too much fat.
      Either way, you could experiment with less, but if you begin to notice any hard stool, I would go back to the higher fat ratio.

    • @justlap88
      @justlap88 2 месяца назад +3

      There's nothing wrong with 80/20. You could even go with red meat that has more than 20% fat. Fat is one of the best things to consume with Carnivore or Lion. I do 85/15 100% grass fed beef with grass fed Ghee for additional fat.

      Here's a video by Dr. Nadir Ali who is a cardiologist in Texas and is also a carnivore. ruclips.net/video/Tp4XPlnRoP4/видео.html His answer about the amount of fat to consume is addressed in this video. You can queue up to about 1 hour 15 minutes to hear what he says about fat intake, but you might want to listen to the entire interview for other foundational truths about LCHF eating.

    • @Kyarrix
      @Kyarrix 2 месяца назад +1

      @@justlap88 carnivore wants more fat. If you are restricted to 80% fat in the meat you are going to be hungry and you're not going to be giving your body what it needs. Even for those without a gallbladder. You want your fat to comprise about 60%, even 70% of your intake. 80/20 is low fat and not recommended. You can absolutely eat it but you want to add some butter or tallow to the meat.
      I don't like ribeye, I prefer try tip but try tip is a little too lean so I end up having to add fat to it.
