Five-brain shower thought: MLP Joker doesn't have a cutie mark because it's the most anarchist thing possible.
Cutie marks are meant to represent a pony's calling, right? The one thing that they're destined to be great at?
Well, the Joker doesn't do destiny. He's a literal wildcard. So if he has no set calling, then he doesn't get a cutie mark.
IIRC, the Joker also once said: "If I'm going to have a past, I prefer it to be multiple choice!" And who's to say that it wouldn't apply to his future either.
TL;DR
I think MLP Joker doesn't have a cutie mark because he's actually a Jack-of-all-trades (or really a Joker-of-all-trades) and a master of none.
It would have been nice. Oh well

I died a little when Jazza used a mare base instead of a stallion. Heck, a stallion base would've allowed for a bigger smile!
I was thinking that as well. Also could have easily pulled from Mane-iac's color pallete from the Power Ponies episode, to get it as pastel looking as possible.
[I was also like '... ponies wear clothes all the time in the show'. But that felt like nickpicking by that point.]
@@DarkwingSnark I was thinking that about the clothes, too. And using the Mane-iac's colors is a fun idea, considering I think she was based off of both the Joker and Doc-Oc.
THIS! I'm behind this one too. The stallions all have such diverse body shapes! He really could've used any of them as inspiration and lost the opportunity.

You two should do a collaboration on something like this where you each choose (choose, nothing random) a few character/style swaps to challenge each other. Like, 3 different levels of difficulty, or something, with the last being INSANELY hard. Fun!

I honestly watched that about four times because it's so funny. It's really easy to get caught up in that whole Doctor Seuss rhyming scheme without realising it... Love how he just finished it off once he realised what he was saying!

Jack Skellington as a Pokémon is absolutely adorable. He’s probably a dark/ghost type that spawns at night

I think Jack would definitely be able to immobilize opponents with fear a lot and Ghastly. I want to see him incorporate a pumpkin/Christmas transformation attack or something, too,

Though, maybe he could also have it as an ability? Where all moves that make Physical contact (both coming from Jack or used Against him) have a 50% chance to turn the target into a pure ghost type if they don't have the ghost type already. Maybe call it "Pumpkin King"?
Particular scary for a Ghost/Dark type, as both of his offensive STAB would be super effective against ghost.

Man, Homer in the style of Atlantis looks amazing! I always loved Atlantis The Lost Empire, and I especially love the art style so seeing how well Homer fits in is fantastic

The thing with Jack is there are tall spindly pokemon. I haven’t watched it in years to know actual names but there are definitely more humanoid shaped ones that would have lent their designs well to jacks proportions while still allowing for creativity.
I feel like jack was his warm up he didn't spend as much time on it and it's design basic and even though it's my least favorite design I try to keep in mind that jazz isn't super knowledgeable on pokemon so that makes sense as to why he would spend less time on the subject and would use basic starter 3 and pokemon vibes.the same goes for the mlp base and why so many were upset that he didn't at least use a stallion base. It's just not something he would know to do. So basics is what we use

The fact he chose Trixie as the base for joker is so damn fitting lmao!! Though it's a sin he neglected to give it a cutie mark, should have been a joker card on it's flank or something. Also Jaza used a female base when 90% of the males in the show have a different body shape.
The Joker lives for Chaos. Parading in a female disguise to mess with people seems oddly fitting.
A "BANG!" flag would have been a good one, like from those old gag guns

The joker ended up how he ended up bc of bad things I feel canonically he might still have a blank flank, even the bad guys in mlp have cutiemarks that don't necessarily condone evil I dunno if he earned any netural ones yet.

As a Pokemon fanatic, hearing Jazza, a man who custom built a whole drawer system because he had so many Pokemon cards, say his Jack would be a "shadow type" killed me inside 😅😂
Also how he talks about Pokémon having an 'artstyle' eventhough Pokémon throughout generations has multiple artstyles. Alola Ash looks nothing like Kalos Ash.
@@Ditto.007 he's addressed that in the first style swap video, now he's just going into it assuming prior knowledge/using a mental shortcut. He's using the style of the Pokémon TV show he grew up with.
He probably just meant dark type and got confused by moves like shadow ball and shadow claw. 😂

I love Disney's Atlantis. My nephew and I used to always turn on Disney DVDs at bedtime and that was one of our favorites. Loved hearing you talk about the artwork and adding Homer to the crew! lol

Jack would probably be just ghost type. Maybe ghost and dark. Idk about most of his moves, but considering how he pulls his face around in the movie, he would totally know scary face.

Atlantis was one of my favourite movies from when I was a kid. Still love it to this day and I was super happy to see it up there because I love the character and other design elements, and I know two other people who have ever heard of it 😂 Great art as always!

I liked the most Homer Simpson in the still of Atlantis it blends so well with the other characters from the movie.
That last one helped me realize yet another reason why MLP is so popular; it's so simple, even the target audience could draw their OCs without messing it up too badly.
It’s not particularly popular considering the money behind it. It may seem that way because it has a surprising amount of fans outside its target demographic but thats just developmentally arrested men fetishising an idealised concept of femininity. I’m not sure that’s something to shout about

To your points, in order, regarding your view on why it's popular: we aren't all developmentally arrested men, many of us have well paying jobs and some of us are, in fact, grown women (though some of them prefer "pegasisters" which is nowhere near as fun to say imo); recall rules 34 and 35; and we don't like it just because it's feminine, we love it for the same reasons most people love Disney: compelling and memorable characters teaching valuable lessons through beautiful stories and catchy songs we can sing for days on end. On top of all that, we have a thriving community and history of fanmade content to enjoy when rewatching the show gets old
I really like this challenge, I hesitate between Jack the Skeleton and Pikatchou as my favorite, but at last they’re all good! Good job Jazza!

Jazza, if you do this again, which I REALLY hope you do, PLEASE put Splatoon on there. The Inklings and Octolings have such a unique character design, and the 2D art style for stuff like promotional art is SUPER unique. I think seeing it in a video would be amazing.

I think Jack would be a Dark + Ghost type (can’t remember if those two are two that can’t happen, but I don’t think that’s the case).
Also, Pikachu in Dr. Seuss fits so well, it looks almost like he’s an easter egg deal, LOL! Like a fun little cameo. Love that!
Anyway, am really enjoying watching you swap the styles. Seems like a lot of fun.

You used a female pony template for the Joker it would have actually worked better if you used Flim and Flam as a base

For Joker Pony, I would have put either the red smile design on the rump or maybe the flower that joker normally has on his suit. Great job though!

Jack Skeleton would be one of those “dapper” type Pokémon too, like acting all suave and coolly fighting other Pokémon.
I love Atlantis so much and a huge part of that is the kind of edgy and angular style. That homer looked incredible and actually very lovable I think.
I want to see more Pokémon in Dr Seuss style now, it translates really well!
Can we have Bluey on the wheel for next time? I imagine as an Aussie Jazza is pretty familiar and I think it’d be neat to see him try and draw in the Bluey style.

Personally in my experience for being an artist. I believe that the artwork that you create that you both love and hate and have super mixed emotions about. They usually end up being some of the best artwork you could produce. And strangely enough really catchy for a lot of people. So in my opinion the best way to produce art in any form, is to stick all of your emotions into different paint buckets and fling them onto campuses. Go forth and create. ✌️

The My Little Pony Joker is priceless. The grin and the colors and the hair ... awesome. I never even watched the show - I think we had a ''is this a name from MLP or a pron star's name'' game at some Mensa meeting once, is the closest I got - but just by the look of it: that pony is going to turn everything and everybody upside-down.
There should be a small slice on the wheel for jackpot (jazzapot?) where jazza has to draw himself in one of these styles.
Omg, just had a look at that package and even at full price I'd buy it! I start my graphic design course in Aug so after Christmas I will treat myself to the set, looks like it has a lot of useful information and equipment. Can't afford anything in December unfortunately as I have a huge family so cash is non existent right now but it's a bargain regardless of discount tbf. 😁 So exciting! 12:59 well you could have started with a male pony base to work from. Using Trixie as a base, and then mixing the jokers up into it, you've just got a femjoker. Didnt even give her a cutiemark. Could have been the flag from a joke gun, y'know, (((BANG!))) Or a joker card... or just a stylised J... a squirty flower even... but leaving her blank? Doesn't work mate.
And for the base choice, you even said yourself that Joker likes chaos, so why not DISCORD?

Jazza basically just chibi-fied Jack and called him a pokemon. I think he definitely has a lot more to learn about what goes into pokemon designs, because it didn't truly feel like a pokemon to me :/

this video was so much fun. atlantis is one of my favourite movies and its so underrated. all of these turned out so much better than i imagined.
For some of these, and as a fan of a few of those specific shows, I personally would've changed some of the proportions around or used a different base (mostly with using a stallion instead of a mare as the Joker's base) but they all fit in to the intended styles SO WELL, IT BLEW ME AWAY!!
