So here it is, a 1.4 Civic - our contender for the 4 hours of Lochgelly endurance race where the rules are simple; the car must be no more potent than a 1.4 litre, it must remain in an unmodified state and have 'budget tyres'.
We completed our dodgy car purchase (see our previous video) and ended up with a slightly bruised looking Civic that we bought in the dark. Now we've only got limited time to get the Civic ready for the 4 hours of Lochgelly endurance race at Driftland. The first thing to do is to get it on the ramp and check how bad it looks underneath...

honestly, if you ever smash a civic around a track, you're pretty much sold, because these things are sooo much fun for basically no money. can't wait to see the vid guys, should be fun !

You guys obviously dont know 90s hondas very well. 😆 they rarely have faults with things like euro cars have like wheel bearings, tie rod ends, Ball bearings, dampers, bushings, brake hoses and stuff. All very durable stuff from the factory. Ive had many old hondas on the lift and ive rarely seen things like that fail even after 20 years of neglecting ownership.
These double wishbone front independent rear civics only have the big rear trailing arm bushing wich tends to fail earlier. Overall great cars.
Keep an eye on the oil level tho. They tend to eat oil when they didnt get regular oil services because they build up deposits in the oil control rings

Yo guys this was awesome been following you since the Black flag video. Been thinking about stripping my prelude to get 100-150 lbs of weight off. How much did stripping the 306 improve its performance? Does it lenghten the life of your brake pads? And just wondering: how noisy is a stripped out car on the inside? Greets
Hey Colin! It's hard to quantify how much quicker the 306 was before and after stripping the interior out as Alex's 197 which would have been the perfect base line to test it against ended up blowing up before we could test the differences! And again it's hard to quantify what difference in length of live of pads it'll have other than knowing that it'll be improved somewhat. Stripping the car does make it considerably more noisy, if you're concerned about the noise we'd advise keeping the carpet and sound deadening in!
@@CamberandCombustion yes i think ill just do a stage 1 Weight red. Such as rear seats and spare wheel. Thatll save me around 50kg at least. If i like the results i might go further with it , thanks a brunch!
Got my prelude to 2640 lbs no rear seat belts,seats,panels,no spare or jacks and no carpet.
