So underrated
Salmon sharks are awesome they’re like tea cup great whites
How big are your teacups??
Lol like hagrids
Check out the Porbeagle, Rain - in my opinion it looks even more similar to a great white than the salmon shark !
Agreed
Teacup size? I think it’s more of a barrel size
basically a small great white shark
Teacup Great White Shark lol
Lesser white shark
Then it should be called a white shark
and warm-blooded
Their snouts are little more blunt not so much torpedo shaped they also have larger eyes and don’t get as big as a great white.
I love how instead of plowing into the cameraman or Jeremey the Salmon Shark was just like "Ope, 'scuce me just gotta sneak right past ya."
Because those sharks are Canadian. British Columbia borders four US states-Alaska being one of them.
It’s strange to think that a shark out of all places would be in the Icy Alaskan waters , right next to the forests.
Sharks are everywhere. Somebody once caught a bull shark off the coast of St. Louis, Missouri, which is 1750 miles upriver from the Gulf of Mexico. There are bull sharks in Lake Nicaragua that migrate up the rivers like salmon. You are never safe from sharks.
In Australia bull sharks swim many kilometres up rivers
They don’t like swimming near forests?
I lived in AK for 11 years and learned, there are more species of sharks in those waters than anywhere else.
@@Peace-lr7mt Ok, that's wrong.

Jaws x deep blue sea in a nutshell
I'm assuming these guys look small till you're in the water with them
They can get to 10 foot long, but internet says the average is like 6-8'.
All lamnid sharks are heavily built. They have a lot of muscle.
No they look medium sized before, after and during you being in the water with them.
@@al145 dang that's still pretty big. Most bull sharks I'd come across growing up on the gulf coast were around that size. These fellas seem to have a much better disposition than the bulls though haha
@al145 I see you did your Wikipedia research as well
Humans: "Will the shark attack us?"
Shark: "Mmmmm delicious camera."

I know right they eat fish ie salmon sharks.. it’s hyped up like wrestling lmao
It's just put in there for the drama. It's typical and an annoying part of modern America television
Fishermen are vanishing without a trace... because the water is deadly cold, no sea monster needed
@@509Gman Yeah, PFD's are especially a really good idea in cold water.
Well I don't think the fish are purposely attacking humans, it's just the ideal conditions for human attack occasionly happens. He's doing it once. If as controlled conditions as open water could give.
If it were me: "The sharks could not see due to the deep yellow stained water."
Not if you're wearing a dry suit! Anything that comes out of you is going to be sealed in with you until you take that thing off!
Sharks do not use their eyes in murky water like that. They use other senses.
the sharks would not see me because i would be on the boat
Sharks don' t need to use their eyes. Their strongest senses are smell and electrosensory. Yes, sharks can detect electricity, meaning that they would be well aware something was there even if they can't see it.
Fuckin funny
These ones clearly have the cutest little faces of all the sharks
X3
Tell that to the salmon.
Cute? No no no... scary..
Lemon sharks are pretty cute too
Clearly you havent seen a porbeagle.
Porbeagles are pretty much the apex ocean predator version of the puppy.

It’s hilarious to watch Wade get out the water unbothered and kind of nonchalant because the sharks actually don’t even care about people, it’s kind of funny to see him slightly disappointed😂😂
once again Wade, you're crazy
only about a dozen out of the 300 known shark species are dangerous. So, just because it's a shark doesn't mean it's going to eat you.
And even then there are only about 50 attacks each year and out of those 50 attacks, only about 12 actually die from it. Essentially your more likely to be killed by vending machines which actually kill 4 times as many people than sharks
@@brianisme6498 that’s true, but most people don’t hop in the water and tease them for a bit to see it they will bite
@@miika684 Yeah. Like a dog that doesn't know you, you better not effing test/provoke it.
beautiful creatures! honestly, this episode was not the only one, when I thought to my self, Jeremy, you are not brave, but insane. your enthusiasm to do crazy stuff in the name of science is LEGEDARY! you never stop to impress. big up!
The only reason he jumped in with Salmon sharks is because they're not dangerous to humans at all , they've never killed a human and i don't even think there's a documented attack on a human being. Dolphins have harmed more humans than Salmon sharks.
Probably not dangerous, but again people rarely swim in cold ocean where this shark lives
I mean they are called Salmon sharks after all. So doesn't seem they have a lot of taste for humans.
Even so, they are powerful animals and capable predators. I wouldn't be as scared of being in the water with a salmon shark as I would with a great white or mako but I would still be cautious.
@@robwalsh9843 I mean yeah, but to be fair thats something you should do with any wild animals that have sharp teeths.
Sharks won’t actually intend to harm people, they just hungry
If it weren’t for their small size, I’d say they look scarier.
Uhmm if they were bigger they would look exactly like a great white.

Wow Jeremy has some wonderful experiences! One of my top five things to do before I die is swim with sharks but illness prevents me from being able to dive again now.
I have dived with sharks!!
Didn't know that sharks can do division.

its so tiny and chonky at the same time, kinda cute
I have a feeling it would seem more chonky than tiny if I were in the same water as it 😂😂
"we want to know if the sharks eat people so we used me as bait"
So jump in without a wet suit, wearing a shiny watch and flail about - then see how they'd react to a fisherman who fell in the water.
He’s wearing a scuba diving drysuit, it’s works better than a wetsuit for cold water as it keeps you dry
@@liamedge2568 he’s trying to say the watch would attract them such as the silver fish. Did making them attack the fisherman
@@johnbrandes4465 I was on about how he said he jumped in without a wetsuit
I've had fish hit my watch before while wading in the ocean.
I'd be more worried about the water temp instead of sharks, though. There are videos on YT that show how you can go over board without a PFD and never surface.

Salmon sharks and other members of the great white shark family are some of the few warm-blooded fish, in case you are wondering how these sharks are this far north.
I'm still amazed that animals like sharks or whales or tuna live happily in freezing icy cold waters. That's definitely a super power
Salmon sharks kinda cute ngl
love sharks so much
Jeremy Wade is fantastic person ever lived 😀
He should have worn a shiny silver dry suit 😂😂
Salmon sharks are one of my favorite but are seldom mentioned and most people have never heard of them.
Jeremy is a freak getting in the water the way he does . Cheers
Salmon sharks are all around Northern Vancouver Island I’ve seen them while working as a diver 🙂they seem to have had very little interest in me but are definitely capable of hurting a person if they chose to .
This is a perfect shark for a real horror movie
Pretty cool I've never heard of Salmon sharks before. I always enjoy seeing underwater footage of just gliding out of the darkness below.
My man going savage mode. Nothing but himself. My boy has big balls respect ✊
Wonderful footage as always, it looks like a cute version of a great white 😍
The instant Wade says he's jumping into a salmon shark feeding frenzy without any protective gear I knew it was just another one of his desperate attempts to get decent stats for his show.
Like the episode where he went to Russia and fished for the "deadly" taimen, which is NOT a river monster, it is a very large species of salmonidae. Giant salmon, trout, all sorts of colors and markings that make it exceptionally beautiful.
I love Salmon Sharks.
LOL the shark in the thumbnail looked so mind blown
Do 30 min videos please

Well if you watch the actual episodes they are around 40 minutes long so
It is real....what a lil chunky boi
I don’t know, the music is meant to make everything seem scary and dramatic, but those sharks look pretty mellow to me.
Damn Jeremy! You've taken the next step. To be the bait.
I love sharks they're like little doggos !!

Those sure do look like little Great Whites!!!!!
I find this shark adorable in this video

Dude have MASSIVE balls !
Dayum they look just like a teacup great white shark 🦈 😆
I’ve always loved the salmon shark
Soooooo cool, I wish more documentary of thoses rare fish would be made
When I was 6 years old my dad threw me in a river in Alaska and I saw what I thought was a great white shark but my dad told me that it was only my imagination from watching Jaws numerous times(I loved that movie) but I was sure it was a shark. As I got older I started to think that maybe it WAS only my imagination. This video has reaffirmed my sighting but it probably was a salmon shark, not a great white.
My dad thought it was funny to throw his young child in any body of water.
He also dangled me over swampy water in Jean lafitte state park in Louisiana when about 4 years old(before kindergarten). The park is composed of numerous walking trails and bridges to go see alligators, snakes, and other swamp creatures. I could have easily wound up as alligator bait. My feet were in the water and I remember screaming and crying because I was terrified. That's so not cool! No wonder I'm deathly afraid of any body of water.
If anyone visits New Orleans, I highly recommend going to Jean Lafitte state park. It's awesome and free! I havent been in a while because it was closed down for years after Katrina. I guess the storm not only flooded the area but may have taken out a lot of the walking trails. I cant remember which trail lead to a high look out over the swamp but it's my favorite one and the best one to see gators.
Your father is sick
You probably did see a salmon shark, until a few months ago I didn't know there was even such a shark, they do look a lot like great whites.
Don't let what your dad did make you fearful, just be careful where you swim, know the dangers.
Your dad probably didnt mean you harm, some people have different sense of humor, not saying it was ok but he probably didn't mean for you to get hurt.
Don't be afraid to enjoy the water, just stay safe, stay away from dangerous places, know where your swimming, like what creatures live there,is the water deep? Dont jump into water without first checking and knowing how deep it is because there could be submerged rocks and boulders you might land on and hurt yourself, and learn to be a good swimmer too. Educate yourself about safe swimming and you'll be fine.We always fear what we don't know anything about.
Dad sounds terrible.

50 million years from now this will be the largest shark in the ocean and humans will be finding teeth of Great Whites and saying how monstrous they must have been. LOL
