This couple was featured in an update. He got the help he severely needed, they're now happy, and he proposed to her on the show. I'm happy for them, as he got rid of his demons.
There was a followup, and they wound up getting back together. I think that is the worst thing possible. I pray I am wrong, but I don't think I am.

Both of them need help. That last part made me cry seeing him make an appeal for help. I really hope he gets it. The wife really shouldn’t go back home with him because who knows what he’ll do seeing her leave him before his very eyes. He may lose control, again.

I disagree with Dr Phil when he says men should never put their hands on a woman in anger. I disagree because the idea is that it's ok for women to put their hands on men in anger. There are men who experience physical abuse by women. The cases that are reported are low. Men should not and women should not ever put their hands on anyone in anger. I believe the very first time women hit men and when men hit women and when men hit men and women hit women, the recipient should leave the relationship. The first time it happens is the last time it should happen. If someone needs to defend themselves defend yourself.

If he won't let her leave, it's time for a restraining order and start divorce proceedings. In another part of the episode, Sally is shown to be emotionally cheating with Alan behind Charles' back. Let's see, actively cheating while you are estranged with your husband who is jealous, violent and explosive. This could go bad in so many ways.

Many men lack the skills to communicate because, for their whole lives, they are expected to suppress negative emotions, instead of opening up to their loved ones and sorting things out together. Negative feelings can explode and get out of control as the pressure builds up. This is toxic masculinity at it's worst, and mocking a man who is TRYING to get help and put down his defenses to salvage his relationship is just cruel. We shouldn't condone violence, but we should be more accepting of people who are trying to fix their violent behavior.

Well I have seen the whole episode of everything that is going on and if you ask me yes he is a idiot because his wife has been having an affair with another man and litterly rubbing it in his face. She lies about him to her boyfriend and says she wants to leave her but then don't do it. She is playing both sides against each other and is totally abusing her husband.
