I had no idea there were so many parts in just the front bumper! That shot at 5:30 is half the reason I watch this channel. Fascinating. And so great watching it all get some care and attention to make it all look better-than-factory-fresh! Thanks.
Some people paint to relax, others watch tellie or play golf. Men rebuilt cars....for fun, because we can and because we don't watch tellie nor can we play golf
I don't own a BMW car. However, by watching this video, I was able to know a cleaning method that can be applied to other cars. From the disassembly method to the cleaning method that suits the material of the part. It's full of useful information for me. Thank you very much.
I really respect how you give us a good view of the part’s degradation and damage that occurred to it. Definitely something good when you’re doing the before and after, And the improvements/restoration is much more obvious
That fiberglass filler with washer backing trick was genius! Definitely going to steal that idea from you. Also the 3d printer pen looks to be a great tool to have in the arsenal. Definitely considering picking one up. Great work mate!
I know painting the plastics is an easy way to make them look better but you should try some plastic restoring products. I used plastic restorer on my sun faded e30 trims and they came out fantastic. Then i used g4 ceramic coating to protect it from further sun damage and i just re apply every month or so
After doing both, i must say i prefer the paint as it seems to last a lot longer than the restoring products and you dont have to keep reapplying paint. I think g4 is a great idea and I should really get some shouldn't i... Thanks man.
Hello, nice work I regularly follow the chain because I also restore my 325i e30 from 1987 and it is very useful! I also adapted an M-tech1 kit and the black plastic parts on the sides are specific compared to a classic bumper !!!! the new parts are not the right ones but the original M-tech cannot be found so normal you could not have had anything other than non M-tech1 parts. on the other hand to have a better alignment with the turn signals (because we can see that it is not well aligned) it is necessary to cut the "ear" low of the plastic part and a part of internal pins. I hope this can help you. congratulations again for your wonderful work. I envy you every day to work on these beautiful cars. clement
Another great vid, and really coming in handy as I'm restoring the exact same 325i sport tech 1. I must say you do such a good job on restoring everything making it look like new!!! 👍
I love this content so much! It's so satisfying to watch. Why assemble it completely if you're planning on repainting the pieces again? Kudos on making your own gaskets.
You made a new tab and it looked great. Do you really wanna replace all of your hard work and intuition? Personally, I think you should do it more often. Plastic is hard enough to dispose of as is already. And the fact that you can just fix it like that is amazing.
Hey man great job! I wouldnt recommend filling cracks with putty, because it can crack over time again. In the past i had great success drilling out the crack so there is no tension and then using 2K polyurethane glue. you can sand it down and apply bumper putty afterwards :)
Two steps you could add for the bumper cracks. First, drill a small hole at the tip of the crack, that will relieve stress and keep the crack from opening further. Second, enlarge the crack to form a V-shaped groove from both sides so that the filler/glue has more purchase.
Not sure if this has already been said, but the side trim pieces are different. The mtech 1 setups came without the extra tabe below the trim piece. It was for euro bumpers without bumper valances, so they could clip on from underneath.
A good tip:don’t take apart anything, only if your ready to sacrifice it, aka my personal experience e.g rear view mirror, I Bernie, was hard to put back in😭
Thanks Dillian, I'm ready to sacrifice it all for the sake of learning and making videos. If I wasn't doing those things I would not do half of the things im doing.
do not touch the bulb as your oils on your fingers contaminate the quartz glass. you can clean with some thinners . if you leave the oils on it will shorten the bulb life by a lot ... thanks
Something tells me that you already dismantled this before the start and then just loosely put them together... I tried it on my E30... and everything was just too stiff or broke.... but brilliant work... true artist..
Great video! You should invest in a DA sander... would make your work so much faster and hands not so "worn". And on question (does not ruin the video in any way) - why are there some blue frames appearing in video at some moments?
Dude, i love your job!! And now i want a E30 because of your videos hahaha this bumper is like brand new!! I don’t want to be rude, but will you tell us how much you spent on this restoration project? I’m curious because i want to do something like this some day... well, another top tier video, you got a like and my respect!! Wish you all the best!! Cheers from São Paulo, Brazil!!
Shame someone painted that front bumper. They look great in the original chrome. Not sure if bmw had a factory option to paint match the bumpers in europe though.
The washer trick for the fiberglass filler repair was so simple yet so brilliant. I’m going to have to use that for sure!
The other great car restoration channel, nice
Greetings from Russia, Ron!)) your fiero repair is awesome;)
It sure is going to come in handy for the Fiero.. ;)
isnt it nice now that the fiero is done?
I had no idea there were so many parts in just the front bumper! That shot at 5:30 is half the reason I watch this channel. Fascinating. And so great watching it all get some care and attention to make it all look better-than-factory-fresh! Thanks.
Thanks mceajc I appreacite it!
Beautiful, painstaking work as usual on iconic car. I think BMW wins the award for 'Most number of parts used to create a Bumper Assembly' :-)
That's the most bizarre advert line I think I ever heard , " not only do I restore car parts and antiques, but also my balls as well ".
I can't believe he said that really haha
It was just added in so casually. Pissed myself laughing...
😂
😂
😂 I had to rewind that part
About time!! Lol I almost bought an e30 because the wait
You wont regret it if you do :)
Are you a millionaire or something?
:p
Do it man!
After seeing recommendations about people restoring helmets, cashiers, trikes and other crap, finally something worth watching! GJ!
Handwerklich wieder einmal sehr gut. Die Idee, die Bohrungen mit Hilfe von Klebestreifen und Unterlagscheiben zu reparieren ist klasse 👍
Thank you Geraldbuer :D
its really satisfying and cool but also painstaking and lengthy, there's a reason most people buy their cars ready to go
go eat a cheeseburger then
For some, this is a hobby. I wish I had half the skills this man has. Beats running around playing Call of Duty
Some people paint to relax, others watch tellie or play golf. Men rebuilt cars....for fun, because we can and because we don't watch tellie nor can we play golf
As I currently restore a 325i, your videos are really helpfull so thank you and congrats for the quality of the filming
That washer being used as a hole guide is an awesome idea!
It turned out very nice! I'd leave those replacement covers unpainted, think they got along very well with the other black trim parts!
Thanks Fernando! And i'll think about it for sure :)
As a subscriber I'd love to see more of the plastic repairs that you did in this video. It's absolutely brilliant.

Ok, now THAT IS a restoration!!!!
I really respect how you give us a good view of the part’s degradation and damage that occurred to it. Definitely something good when you’re doing the before and after,

The amber looks so good on black.
That fiberglass filler with washer backing trick was genius! Definitely going to steal that idea from you. Also the 3d printer pen looks to be a great tool to have in the arsenal. Definitely considering picking one up. Great work mate!
Hi my friend 👋👋👋 awesome restoration bumper 👍👍👍👌🏽✌🏻🇷🇺
Love you videos! Big fan from Indiana USA!
Woo hoo at last. I’ve been checking every day to see if you’ve uploaded a video. Please don’t leave it so long brother. Best channel on RUclips.
the red funnel is so symbolic
Another great job. The paint really makes it look new again.
God that before and after is gorgeous.... Love the lines on this bumper
A beautifull job guys ! I wish i could work with you. When i was 15 i began an apprentiship in bmw dealer in Switzerland and working on E30 and E36
You cause us heart problems as we wait for new videos!! :D

Loved the washer trick on the hole repair! :D Brilliant!
Always a pleasure to watch your videos. Keep up the good work!
Thanks Speed!
Great job in fairness. Well done.

Welcome, glad see You again, Best videos with restore cars, oh yeah take me like always, thanks for video, good luck and hello from Russia
Wow that is awesome
Again Amazing Job, especially the amount of work to be done is incredible, yet you really make it look easy.
How we gonna ignore how good that drill is
Which drill?
Restore It the yellow one
Good restoration ;) im glad you didnt fit fog lights upside down as they were before ;)
Another great vid, and really coming in handy as I'm restoring the exact same 325i sport tech 1. I must say you do such a good job on restoring everything making it look like new!!! 👍

Wow, beautiful. I'm going to use a lot of your tips on my e28.
You made a new tab and it looked great. Do you really wanna replace all of your hard work and intuition? Personally, I think you should do it more often. Plastic is hard enough to dispose of as is already. And the fact that you can just fix it like that is amazing.
5:51 "not only do i restore antique car parts, but my balls as well" 12/10 advertising, why cant more youtubers be like this
its not just so good, is asmr too
I love this bumper
Fantastic work.
Looks great, nice work as always
That is some quality work 👌🏾
Thank you Ricky :D

Damn good job brother. Looks brand new
Fantastic video!
you are my inspiration
It's a magnificent job! 👌🏽
Great job, good luck i next reconostructions
Thanks!
Could BMW make a more complicated front bumper? Great video mate.
Tell me about it... haha thanks man.
Watching this channel makes me appreciate how complex modern product design is! Every part is designed as an interlocked part of a greater whole !
They are proper shit
amazing details again!
Dang it looks nice! Great job
Well done, well done
Impresionante trabajo,sois los mejores
Yes, new video!
Thanks Nail, sorry its late!
Lost of hours, huge job, just for a front bumper.....😬 great job!!!
I really can´t wait to see your full restored e30, im really hyped xD
Looks like it’s had a lot of fights with speed humps. Nice job
Epic work
Tooo fresh
Thanks Motheo!
Интересная технология восстановления креплений
Спасибо!
Это плохой ремонт, а не восстановление креплений. Для креплений есть специальные клеи и пластики. А в видео даже не расчищенно нормально.
Excellent
Nicely done.
Not sure if this has already been said, but the side trim pieces are different. The mtech 1 setups came without the extra tabe below the trim piece. It was for euro bumpers without bumper valances, so they could clip on from underneath.
Very well done 👍🏻
Very nice work
Wonderful vary very good
Thank you Jewaly!
Amazing work, as always... :)
Nice job.
Cheers Cris :)
Nice work
Always love watching these vids.Your "i like to restore my balls aswell" line finally got me to subscribe.Thank you.
That front bumper looks showroom-worthy
Your work is simply amazing.
good job but you should drill little holes at the end of cracks to prevent more cracking. sorry for my english.
Lovely job...👍.
A good tip:don’t take apart anything, only if your ready to sacrifice it, aka my personal experience e.g rear view mirror, I Bernie, was hard to put back in😭
I broke it
Thanks Dillian, I'm ready to sacrifice it all for the sake of learning and making videos. If I wasn't doing those things I would not do half of the things im doing.
Restore It that’s good, as long as you know what your doing, I saw an e30 today and it made my day
Nice work as usual ;-)
Genius!!!
do not touch the bulb as your oils on your fingers contaminate the quartz glass. you can clean with some thinners . if you leave the oils on it will shorten the bulb life by a lot ... thanks
Great point John. I'll do just that cheers!
there is nothing worse than restoring a bumper, then scratch it on the assembly... i've only did this a few times
That cord on your dremel looks knackered make sure you sort it you don't want a shock of that when using it
Something tells me that you already dismantled this before the start and then just loosely put them together... I tried it on my E30... and everything was just too stiff or broke.... but brilliant work... true artist..
Perfect 👌
Thanks AGS!
Great video! You should invest in a DA sander... would make your work so much faster and hands not so "worn". And on question (does not ruin the video in any way) - why are there some blue frames appearing in video at some moments?
hopefully i’m first, love the videos man !!
Close!
Dude, i love your job!! And now i want a E30 because of your videos hahaha this bumper is like brand new!! I was waiting for new video and I missed the video with 8 days LMAO
Shame someone painted that front bumper. They look great in the original chrome. Not sure if bmw had a factory option to paint match the bumpers in europe though.
I believe BMW did offer this as an option from the factory, but im not sure.
It's a shadowline bumper so it should be painted from factory ;)
I need a bumper like that
and mtech 1
King Job :D
