Clicking on this video, I didnt expect someone who looks like my strict religious aunt to be writing a black metal song. Im Literally in aw. That was a shocking but pleasant surprise
Ha ha ha! Yes, people get a bit surprised when I tell them I'm into black metal. I've been asked whether I was wearing various t-shirts because I liked the picture rather than the band etc in shops, and did manage to frighten some "edgy" Slayer-tshirt wearing kids on the tram one day. 😀 Still, at least you didn't call me "grandma"... 😂
Looking like someone's "strict religious aunt" (*giggles*), "grandma" (pffft, I got age ID-ed at last month's Rotting Christ gig), etc has its benefits... *evil giggles*😈
at risk of repeating all the other comments ... was totally not expecting you to show up when I clicked on the vid haha. You're incredible, much respect. Also, I just gave you your 666th like ;) what a coincidence.
Hails to the 666th like.😎🤘🤘🤘 Yes, I could have tried a bit harder to look a bit more trve kvlt and metal in the video, but it was cold and at least I wasn't wearing a cardigan.😂
Happy to hear you liked the video and found it useful. I've got another "writing/making of" video coming up soon (if I ever get round to finishing it!!!) (
Thanks. You might quite like ruclips.net/video/OwatJoZ1C7k/видео.html or ruclips.net/video/NknkAQt9CM0/видео.html then. I do slower atmospheric songs from time to time.
Thanks for listening. I hadn't noticed the similarity between my song and 'Back To The Shadows', but yes...I can hear it now it's been pointed out. Not quite my intention, but I admit a *slight* (ahem) Burzum influence to the song in general. :-)
Thank you, that was helpful and motivating, I was actually looking for something like this I mean raw and straight to begin with oh and another thing is that waveform? 🤘🖤
@@joolz666 you have to admit, NS is soo much more passionate when done right, there wouldn't be a whole reddit group "RABM" that searches out NSBM safe alternatives, it's like they know it's better but can't stand it lolololololol
awesome job! what app do you use to record your music? i’m trying to get into working on my own music and looking for good apps to record on! any suggestions?
I use a Behringer UMC22 audio interface and then Tracktion Waveform as my DAW. Seriously, pursue working on your own music and don't worry if it's crap (in your, or anyone else's opinion). 1) you'll get better and if you record it, you'll hear your own progress; 2) it's great fun and highly enjoyable, which is the main thing. 👍🤘 Give me a shout when you do, I'd like to hear your efforts. 🙂
Thank you. Happy you liked it. I think I left the song without drums in the end. If I were to put drums on (could be an interesting experiment with blast beats 😄), I would probably either programme them myself or use some of the sample beats/fills/etc rom KVLT Drvms II.
Thanks. No, I don't have a drum kit though I have been known to record myself banging my hands on my desk. 😀 Most of the time these days I programme midi drums using a keyboard.
@@joolz666 if you dont have space or if they're too noisy, I think investing in a small electric drum pad could work and would be more fun than programming it in midi ;) I used an electric drum pad to learn drums when I started.
@@tangytoby I do that with a little MPK mini, it lets me make it sound a little more organic without too much extra effort. And I can tap away for the double bass. Would recommend. I moved and had to sell my drum kit, a sad day, but still have to fill in somehow. I do want a proper drum machine though for live playing
You are the last person I’d expect to make a tutorial on black metal. 😂 Cheers!
Oh heck...I didn't go to school with you, or indeed know you in real life do I? 😳 *comically worried look*

Omg this grandma rocks 😶

As a lifelong Burzum fan i have to say.. very good job !

Ma'am, you've earned my sub
Cool. Thanks for subscribing. :-)
This was recommended to me...and I couldn't be more happy with the algorithm recommendations. Super helpful. What an unexpected surprise that was!!
Ha! Thanks.
Love this, thank you for the inspiration

you rock auntie!!! keep it up
i hope i can be a fraction as cool as you when I am your age, super cool video :))
I have a birthday tomorrow, so I'm even older than I was in this video. 😲 You can do it! Just keep your mental age around 13 or 14. 😀
I was pleasantly surprised when I saw the contrast between the artist and the genre :)

I tried. 😊🤘
I like your style. Raw and trve. Cool
Cheers. I'm not very good at Black Metal to be honest (though I'm trying), but miserable I can do very well. 😃
Subscribed. That was wholesome and fun! I’m recording ambient black metal and too have noticed the reverb hiding my rookie mistakes 😅
When you play as well as I do (ahem), you can never have too much reverb! 😂 Thanks for the sub.

It was one of my favourites when I first started trying to make Black Metal. I should start using it again. :-)
Bruh... I'm just about to start writing some soundtrack stuff and this is exactly what I needed to hear to get it right.
Cool. I look forward to hearing it. 🤘

I wish you could come over and we could have coffee and pastries and girl talk then jam black metal!
