The craziest part is that it is not obvious at all while watching this on a computer screen! I totally believe you that it looks terrible in person but this just kinda shows when watching beauty channels and influencers online they can really tell you any product is amazing and have no techniques. I think it makes it more important to watch and learn from people with credentials and true experience, like Nikki. Thanks for the tips as always!
Thank you for this video! I'm 3 months away from turning 52. The under eye area is definitely something I struggle with. I never thought of putting a serum underneath my eyes for prepping! I will definitely try this method. Thanks again!
I actually never really thought about using just a serum either. I've been using the Niod FECC for a couple of weeks, but under a thin eye cream. I plan to try with just serum...
Im 29 and I have a lot of creases and dry skin under my eyes. Loved hearing about your tips. Btw I just found out about you. I used to watch a lot of makeup tutorials and videos but left that in 2016. Since becoming a mom of 3 I bought my first expensive makeup because I tried out a looooot of drugstore makeup but the most cheap ones. Never tried the midclass but I’ll watch your videos and follow your advice because THANK YOU. You explain it so easily and in depth that I trust you 100% ❤
I’m so thankful you made this video! I’m 59 and have a lot of trouble with concealer. I tried your tips on applying HA under my eyes before concealer. Then let the concealer dry down for about a minute before patting it out. Then applied setting powder like you said. It’s like magic! It worked! No creasing, moving or looking dry. Yay!!
Thank you so much for this tutorial! Nikki, you are the best and everyone LOVES YOU! Your teachings have helped me to look my best when I walk out the door at 72 years young! Keep these coming girl……
I'm 22 with under eye creases due to extremely dry and eczema-prone under eye skin. This video was just what I needed! Dry under eyes that are severey sweaty - I could find no way out. Thank YOU SO MUCH. I can't wait to try these tips. I will report back on how it goes, for sure!
I’m 55 with deep tear troughs, dark circles and dry/normal skin. I’ve done so much concealer research over the years especially as I’ve matured. Currently, I prep my skin with Snoxin II serum including around my eyes then apply my Bioré Japan Aqua Rich Watery Essence Sunblock Sunscreen Blue Spf50+ Pa+++. I first apply very little CT corrector on my inner corner then a tiny amount of Haus Labs concealer on inner corner and deepest part of trough. What I’ve found to work best for me is using my fingers for everything. The warmth and precision make it easy. Also, weirdly (it works and discovered the technique from another pro MUA) tap my finger into loose powder (Milk and Givenchy are current faves) and the lightly rub it into my palm then press it under my eyes. It’s a great process for mature eyes.
I thought I had been doing the correct steps from watching your other videos but was getting some creasing so I thought it was just being 40, but today I tired these tips and used less skin prep products under my eyes and made sure to really let them dry fully before applying my concealer and it made a noticeable difference! I could not stop looking at how good my under eyes looked for me lol. Thanks, Nikki! My brushes should arrive on Monday and I cannot wait to fully test out with my new brushes! ❤
I'm so grateful for this video. I didn't realize I should let my concealer dry down for at least a minute before putting powder. I also didn't know the difference between powders so thank you for explaining loose powder goes under the eye. Thank you also for the technique explanation! I can't wait for my loose powder to come in from Sephora so I can try this!
Thanks Nikki! I’m 38 years old and thought I was applying my concealer correctly. But by mid-day it was wearing off or would look dry under my eyes. Thanks to you I’ve learned how to take care of my under eye area and apply concealer the right way! Huge game changer. I so appreciate it!
You must be a mind reader! I had just been thinking how great it would be if you would address skin prep for troublesome areas, especially for concealer. I have been struggling with creasing and caking for the last few years - I am now 69. I have probably purchased about 10 concealers this year alone convinced that the perfect concealer and/or eye cream would address all my problems with no improvement. Your tips and instruction in this video are absolutely amazing. I have been trying your tips this week and it works!! Please continue with these amazing instructional videos they are fabulous. ❤❤
Thank you for talking about loose and finishing powder.. I can see why the days I set worth lose looks great verses the days I just use finishing powder.. thank you❤
Got my brushes yesterday and I can't wait to play with them! Your tips have helped me so much. I can't thank you enough. Would you consider making a video about water-based foundation compared to silicone-based foundation? Who and what they're best for, applications?
I just recently subscribed to your channel after watching your drugstore foundation video. Which I loved!! With me Being 32 and just now starting to really get into makeup I have made some major mistakes and have felt so overwhelmed at times trying to find the right moisturizer and skin prep and the right foundation it has been a journey and a tough one because I love makeup now!! Your videos have helped me so much!! I have very dry skin so foundations and concealer just looked Cakey and not cute. I was also using the wrong type of foundation dream matte mousse was the first ones I ever bought so when you tried that one out it really brought back memories and made me relate to you a lot! But dry skin with a matte foundation just isn’t it especially if your skin prep isn’t good either. After watching your videos you have made me feel more confident and beautiful with my self wearing makeup or not wearing makeup. I LOVE your videos and I love you! You’re so cool and real!! I’m going to be using all of your techniques because they really work!! Don’t ever stop posting videos even when you’re 80 years old I’ll still be watching!!
Thank you SOOOO MUCH! I'm still learning (at 56), and was JUST practicing last night! It was a horrible horrible experience AND look😂! Just what I needed to see❤
Thank you. I recently found your channel and I am learning so much from you. You are a wonderful teacher, and your makeup always looks amazing. I have been struggling to figure out my undereye creasing problem. I am so grateful for the time you took to make this video. Thank you for creating your channel.
Ive definitely made the mistake of too much crème under my eyes and then concealer just seperate and looks awful. Trying to set it just gets worse. Loved this advice . Thank you
🙂Hi Nikki, You explain things so clear and the tone of your voice is pleasant. I enjoy listening to your videos they are very informative. You give off calm vibes. Thank you✌🏼
I am absolutely thankful for this video because I just turned 53 on December 22, 2023 and I needed to see a video on this very subject. Thanks for the help!.
Nikki!!!!! This video couldn’t have came at a better time! I bought the Givenchy powder, Huda concealer & Haus Labs foundation because of you and I got home & said whelp. Now what do I do?! Setting my concealer was exactly where I needed help so this video nailed it!!! Cheers to keeping my 50 year under eye skin looking flawless 👌🏽💓 thank you so much! Cant wait to play with my base tomorrow
LOVED this video. I'm playing catch up and going back to watch videos I missed. Thank you for all the time you take to educate us on proper "procedure" and do's and don't's. I could watch your videos all day (and do sometimes when medical issues keep me inside)! 💜
Your tips are so valuable. I only recently started to get serious about makeup since recently having a face lift at the age of 61. Now I have the face of a 40 year old with the skin of an old lady. In short - Thanks . You're the bomb ❤
Another absolutely awesome video!! I've struggled with concealer since I began wearing it and now I know why! 😂 Thank you for teaching us all the right way to apply it! ♥️
This was great information about what kind of under eye prep would keep your under eye looking great all day. I can hardly wait to use your brushes from BK!
I have really been struggling with my under eye concealer and I did every single thing you did on your mistake side 😂 can’t wait to try out the newer techniques!
Thankyou so much. It was really informative. Was struggling with lot of creasing , my prep with very heavy. Will definitely switch my prep for under eyes
Thank you Nikki! Your videos are so helpful and appreciated. 52 and im no longer recognizing the face in the mirror. I come from the generation of maximalism, more is more. I'm trying to adjust my makeup with the changes in my skin. Its been challenging to say the least and i am thankful for all of Nikkis tips!
I love the Maelove Vitamin C serum and the Retinol serum but I'm definitely getting this 1 too now. This is probably my #1 problem so I am going to try these techniques!
Wonderful tutorial… At 60 years old, I am guilty of putting too thick cream under my eye. This will help a lot. Regarding powders… Would you comment on the Pat McGrath labs sublime perfection blurring under eye setting powder? So many people consider this a holy Grail.

Hey Nikki! I'm not new to makeup, but I'm new to "more makeup" and trying to be very intentional with how and what I'm applying. Your videos are a Godsend! Love all the information! Love to you and Mitch!
Helped?! Perfect timing! I really have an issue with concealer creasing and i've got to the point to buy 5 different concealers, thinking the formula doesn't do it for me 😅 seems that the cream before the concealer was the problem. Many, many thanks!!!
I appreciate your explanation and the correct application of concealer and loose powder. I'm excited to apply my concealer and loose powder the proper way.
I'm always looking for new tips but if you zoom in on the video, you can see how flawless the DO eye looks compared to the DON'T eye. Thanks for tips. I always learn something when I watch these ❤
This was super helpful, Nikki! I need to wait longer before putting my concealer, so that the eye cream is completely absorbed. Also the thickness of the cream is key. And the powder... The whole video was really interesting and, as usual, I learned new things. I adore your channel! I have learned so much I feel my relationship with make-up has completely changed. Now I enjoy the whole process and am proud of the results. I keep getting better thanks to you ❤
You put so much thought into your videos. Thank you for being so descriptive and informative. I learn something new in every video you post! And you’re such a sweet, kind person. Congratulations on your brush set. I love all of them and it changed the game for me.
This was super helpful Nikki! My under eye wrinkles are more apparent in the dry winter months so I have to be careful with powder. I’ll try loose powder and apply it using your technique. Thank you!!❤
Thank you for these tips! I need to start wearing concealor and these tips are helpful! And I think I know why my serum pills when I apply my sunscreen - I'm not letting the serum absorb before going in with the next product.
Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge and techniques! I’m 51 and grateful I do not have a lot of wrinkles but the ones I do I don’t want to have creases under my eyes. I have been watching videos and videos, I have been purchasing products, many many products because I thought it was ‘the product’. I have also changed out wearing powder under my eyes and not wearing powder underneath my eyes. I never thought that putting on too much eye moisturizer was the cause of my creasing. I use true botanicals serum because I did read that the oil absorbs deeper into the skin instead of creams. I did find that putting the concealer on my wrist warmed it up first before putting it under my eyes helped smooth it out, along with using a concealer brush instead of the concealer wand, or my fingers or a sponge worked much better. I was not aware about not using pressed powder because I would use A brush to apply the powder, so I just pulled out my Huda Easy Bake Loose Baking & Setting Powder (Pound Cupcake) and Laura Mercier Ulta-Blur Talc-Free Translucent Loose setting powder. I did have the Givenchy Prisme Libre loose setting &finishing powder (2 Satin Blanc) but returned it b/c I really didn’t see a big difference for the price (could have been my technique). Would you tell me why you like to use the Givenchy loose powder more than the other two I’ve named above? I have fair skin and spray tan in the summer, do you think the Huda in Pound Cake is too dark for my under eyes? The only serums that I currently use are true botanicals Chebula, and the Pure Radiance. I also have Tatcha serum stick. Are these too heavy to use under my eye before make up, should I get a serum that is specific for under eye? Thank you again for sharing!
Hello Nikki, I will definitely change my habits after watching this video. I put serum + cream under my eyes which is apparently too much. Thank you for all your advice
Thank you so much for this video Nikki, I was literally searching for this type of video today. I knew I wasn't prepping my under eyes correctly but had no idea how to fix it. Thank you for the tips.
Thank you for this tutorial! I always thought it was the actual concealer that causes creases. I’m definitely excited to try out your techniques! How would you layer sunblock under the eye + make up?
Great tutorial! I’m definitely going to try the serum under the eyes instead of eye cream. And I’ve ordered the Fenty for nighttime. Question though: I thought hyaluronic acid needed a moisturizer on top of it. Can you explain how best to use? Thanks!
THANK YOU for this video. My under eyes are where I’m the least confident in my makeup application. I’m 37, so I’m at the age where the fine lines are so much more prominent. My past routine isn’t doing it for me anymore. This video was very helpful!!!
Wow what a great, super informative video! Nikki you always go so in depth with amazing tips and techniques.. I mean the way you describe everything you’re doing step by step is impressive. I know so many people are going to find this video so helpful! 🫶🏻 love you!
I use a moisturizer and then sunscreen every day. I had not waited for them to dry before concealer as I thought I was helping to lock in the moisture. My sunscreen is a bit tacky. Now I'm wondering if it's my timing or my sunscreen's tackiness, or both causing a concealer issue. Plus, I wonder if I should use a hydrator over my sunscreen. It was so much simpler as a teen with no wrinkles, no sunscreen, and a basic moisturizer. Ha!
Great video, Nikki! What do you suggest for mature skin (60+)? I have small, deep-set eyes and prominent high cheekbones, so the area between my lower lash line and the bottom of the orbital socket/top of the cheekbone is like a hollow that deepens and wrinkles and can look crepey when I'm talking or smiling. Even though I don't have dry skin, will a hydrating serum still be sufficient? What setting powder should I use to minimize the appearance of wrinkles and crepey skin? I don't wear eye shadow or liner, just concealer and mascara, so I don't need all your brushes, but based on your release video, it looks like there are one or two that would suit my needs, so I will be looking to get them as singles!
The craziest part is that it is not obvious at all while watching this on a computer screen! 52 here also. I have been using thick creams thinking it would help with the under eye area that seems to gain a new wrinkle every damn day 🙄

Wonderful tutorial… At 60 years old, I am guilty of putting too thick cream under my eye. This will help a lot. Regarding powders… Would you comment on the Pat McGrath labs sublime perfection blurring under eye setting powder? So many people consider this a holy Grail.

Hi! I love this video! Please do one for correctors, Professor La 🌹.
Hey Nikki! I'm not new to makeup, but I'm new to "more makeup" and trying to be very intentional with how and what I'm applying. Your videos are a Godsend! Love all the information! Love to you and Mitch!

Yes so helpful, thank you Nikki!!
Very informative video! I don’t usually use under eye concealer but after watching this video, I’ll now know how to use it correctly!
Helped?! Perfect timing! I really have an issue with concealer creasing and i've got to the point to buy 5 different concealers, thinking the formula doesn't do it for me 😅 seems that the cream before the concealer was the problem. Many, many thanks!!!
Learned alot Thanks!!😊
My top 3 undereye powders that I have ever tried are the Givenchy, Nars light reflecting, and the pat mcgrath undereye powder.

Thank you so much for this video Nikki, I was literally searching for this type of video today. I knew I wasn't prepping my under eyes correctly but had no idea how to fix it. Thank you for the tips.
Love! The setting powder technique is super helpful!
So glad! Let me know when you try it!!
Much needed video. THANK YOU 😊
Thank you for this tutorial! I always thought it was the actual concealer that causes creases. I’m definitely excited to try out your techniques!
How would you layer sunblock under the eye + make up?
First time here. Loved your tips and explanations. Your skin is gorgeous.
Thank you so much for this video, Nikki! I’ve been waiting for this one! Love you both!

Love this video! Love your t-shirt! 🎉
Great tutorial! I’m definitely going to try the serum under the eyes instead of eye cream. And I’ve ordered the Fenty for nighttime. Question though: I thought hyaluronic acid needed a moisturizer on top of it. Can you explain how best to use? Thanks!
How would you go about applying sunscreen in this area?
Thank you so much for this!! Never thought to put a serum to help! And I have to practice patience in between 💙
Thank you! ❤ By the way, the Sisley loose powder is also very nice!
Thank you so much Nikki! This video helped me so much! Love you!
Ha! Game changer for sure. So informative and beneficial! Thank you Nikki!
Ha!
Love this! Love the products you used as well💕💕 makes it feel so accessible and doable vs of you had been using something more expensive!
You are so welcome! I’m so happy you found this helpful and yes the products are just super simple!!
@@Makeupbynikkilarose 🥰🥰 love you Nikki!
Yay! Thanks for the video! I’d love if you could do close ups on your skin so we can see texture differences.
Thank you, that was very insightful.❤
Love this video and your skin is flawless. Keep these videos coming!
Thanks for the tapping tip. You definitely are a Pro❤
You are so welcome! Tapping is the way to go, you’ll see!!❤️❤️
