I’ve heard different RUclipsrs say that the era of makeup tutorials are no longer popular. I think when they’re done by a professional like Nikki, they are awesome. I appreciate your videos and hope you never change.
I agree. The accounts that promote themselves as "influencers" are exhausting, unrealistic, and just get paid to promote stuff. Nikki is a breath of fresh air, because it's from a real, honest, and professional point of view. No purchased, fake opinions.
15 years ago I used too consume so much makeup content. I watched so many makeup tutorials over the years. With time, I did grew out of it and the youtubers I follow/followed too. But I got back into it after discovering Nikki's channel through MixedMakeup. It's such a big change to watch a pro makeup artist do makeup. I feel like I'm learning so much!
I feel as if us as consumers/ viewers we love our OGs, but we need new personalities! I love tutorials, I even do them! We all needs fresh new face here and there
I miss the tutorial days! Now it’s just fast fads, random trends and constant new releases. So tiring. I don’t need to buy things, I want to create cool things with the stuff I have
From someone who taught school for 38 years, I just want to compliment you on your teaching skills. Great job, Nikki. I am going to tell my young nieces to watch this. Also, most MUA would have charged $$$ for all this information, but you have such a kind heart, and true passion for this art.❣
I am 60 and my granddaughter is 11. She has been asking questions about makeup. We have been watching your videos together. I want her to learn properly and not make some of the silly mistakes I did as a teenager!! She is interested in lippies and a bit of sparkle on the eyes so far!! She does not wear these to school on a daily basis but when we do dinner out she has fun doing a little something. I feel this is a healthy way to start her makeup journey 😊
I have learned so much from you. For years I never struggled with makeup. Putting makeup on as a 20-30 something is soooo different than a 40-50+. I would love to see you apply makeup with prep on a 50+ person. You are so gifted as an artist and communicator❤️
I totally agree. Seeing you put makeup on a 50-60 yr. old would be awesome. As a 60yr. old I really struggle with concealer. I have really dark circles and some hollowness but the concealer never totally helps. Lines seem to be emphasized after applying concealer. Tried a color corrector and it looked awful. Don't know how to solve the problem
Couldn’t agree more! Going into my 40s has been eye opening as my skin has changed. My eye makeup is getting harder, especially liquid eyeliner or concealer under my eyes. So this would be helpful.
I have always struggled with makeup because I had very, very oily skin. Now I'm in 40s and I have less oily but mature skin! Still nothing works for me. I would love a video about that please!!
I'm not a beginner but I'm not a make up artist either,so it's always good to go back to the basics, remember some things and avoid some mistakes.Thank you!
Ditto! Not a beginner, more so someone who is coming back to makeup after a hiatus. Been watching you religiously over the past year and learned so much. This tutorial put a nice bow around everything I’ve learned. Thanks!!
Would love a drugstore version of this!? Hardly use makeup so don’t want to spend too much money on makeup but still would like to know products that would be easy for me to try similar to these
Thank you...I enjoyed watching as always. I'm 63....I agree with other mature women that we would love to see you do a video on a woman over 60. At 50...you have changes but many of my female friends agree that after 60 is when the really noticeable wrinkles show and we would love to see you do a video on the over 60 woman! Drug store and high end.... Thank you for all you do! ❤🙏
At 56 and a terrible car accident I decided to try makeup. Thank you for your tutorials. This new world is overwhelming and confusing especially with mature skin. Please keep your tips and guidance coming.
I’m so appreciative of you still doing videos .. I don’t really care for shorts.. sometimes they are ok but there’s nothing like watching a full length tutorial!! ❤ thanks so much!!
Thank you so much. I’m 63 years old and have never worn makeup, as terrified I’d end up like a clown. Your tutorial is so inspiring and informative, I’m going to start wearing makeup and applying it in accordance with your guide. You look stunning
My 70 something coworker was same. Now she wears minimal makeup daily which makes her skin look younger. Her church group says she looks great! Go for it
Thank you so much for this beginner tutorial. I'm in my 60's and it will help me get a much more modern look. Every thing is so different today than when I wore makeup every day while working in the 80s and nineties. I just love all your videos!
I’m 69 yrs old, this was a perfect refresher course for me along with new tips. Since I retired I’ve been lax with makeup, now im all in trying new products etc . Thank You so much!☺️
Nikki, this video should go viral as it was simply outstanding, and IMO your very best to date! You are as sweet and generous as they come, and beautiful inside and out. Thank you for all you do. From a 65 Y/O grandma, ❤
Nikki-----You are such a skilled teacher. The way you teach, speak, describe product is like no other. You give the why's to everything which I find so so helpful. I'm not beginner, I'm nearly 60 and have been wearing make up since I was 13/14 years old (foundation came much later, mid 20's) and I am STILL learning something from your videos. Especially since product quality and product textures have changed so much (and I can afford a bit more than drug store now--still love drug store but I do love to treat myself). Thank you for you being you. You are such a pleasure to watch and learn from. BTW, can't wait til Thursday---need a 2nd N14, N15, N16 & N17....so excited for this!!!! See ya soon.
The best teachers do not overcomplicate things, they just explain with encouragement like you do. I agree with an earlier post if you can arrange to have a 50+ model, it would really help me. Plus not have such good lighting. 😊 I'm having fun learning all over again, but finding a drugstore foundation I like has been challenging.
This is a wonderful, detailed, informative, and candid (honest) tutorial. My Mom was a stage make-up artist -and even now, in her eighties, is still learning different techniques. From Kryolan paints, to MAC, and RMS, she and I have both worked with it all. However, any product is only as good as the prep, and the application techniques and tools. So, thank-you for this must-see, timeless approach.
I forgot to say how much I appreciate you mentioned the Fenty sticks. I went and picked one up and they are just as wonderful as you explain. My only complaint is that there is not a lot of product in there for the price.
Nikki, thank you for this!!! My daughters are learning makeup and enjoy watching your videos with me, can’t wait to watch this again with them!!! You’re the best teacher and I appreciate you sharing your tips and expertise with us!! 💙💙
You are the absolute best at doing detailed tutorials. You explain everything so well and don't asume we all know everything, I agree with the other comments, we would love to see you put makup on someone 50-60 if you have a volunteer model. As wonderful as your undereye concealer and color correcter are, they don't work for many of us with crepe, fine lines and some not so fine. Everything seems to make it worse. Please consider using a model for us! Especially if they have crepey hoods also! We love you! ❤
Nikki! I LOVE the ALL WHITE background and outfit!!!! Its so professional looking. This would be a great signature look for all makeup tutorials. There's just something about it that is perfection!!!
Thank you for this video. I am 67 and feel overwhelmed by the makeup videos I have been watching. You have made it simple and clear-cut for beginners. I will buy all the products you have mentioned.
Love ya Nikki 🎉 I am a 65 year old beginner and love your variety of videos and knowledge 🤓 I just got my hairdresser hooked on you 😝 Keep being the best you 💕
I'm certainly not a beginner, but I still learned a few things from watching this video. And for the record, about 35 minutes in when your complexion and brows were done but not your eyeshadow, you actually looked AMAZING. So fresh faced and youthful! And then you did your eyes and you still looked amazing, but in more of a soft glam way.
Hello Nikki and happy new year!!! Let me tell you that, in my opinion, you're just great! What a generosity of you to make this video. It's just pure willing to help everybody and it shows how much you love what you do in life... That's beautiful! I have so much respect for you and admire you so deeply... Love these videos and think they're really necessary for so much people. Thank you so much. Big big kisses to you from Portugal 🇵🇹 ❤
As a 48 year old beginner I learned soooomuch from this tutorial. Please keep the beginner content coming. Thank you for making me feel welcome. You are so knowledgeable and welcoming and I appreciate it. Can’t wait to see your other tutorials!
I am a 58 year old makeup lover ❤! I found your tutorial very helpful. Dealing with mature skin can be difficult but I had a lot of the products that you used and the results were flattering! Thank you!
Hi Nikki! I have probably watched this video at least 3 times and recommended it to all my friends. I used to be a big beauty junkie back in the days, it was like my therapy and a creative outlet. But due to burnout and depression I totally lost both the interest and my energy to care about how I looked for some years. Going from a 7 step skin care routine and mostly a full face of makeup everyday to barely even washing my face. Anyway, I'm slowly getting better and my passion for makeup starts coming back. This video popped up in my feed and now I'm such a big fan of yours. Not only for the amazing makeup looks and techniques but because you seem like such a lovely person. I just wanted to say thank you! ❤
Amazing makeup tutorial for beginners and even those of us who are never too old to learn something new. I plan on sending this video to my 16 and 18 year old granddaughters, so they will learn the correct applications of different makeup products.
I'm 58, so not a beginner, but I learned some new things to try. I enjoyed every minute of your advice. Please keep doing what you do for those of us out here who love a thorough makeup tutorial! ❤
Thank you so much for this!! I'm getting back into makeup after about a decade long hiatus. Makeup products and trends have changed so much since I regularly wore makeup. This tutorial is super helpful and you're so gorgeous Nikki!!
Loved this. I stopped watching makeup tutorials years ago because the "influencer" stuff got way too crazy. Nikki your pro Mua/teacher videos are such a breath of fresh air!!!!
My daughter and I discovered your channel a while ago and we love watching and learning together through you. The one question we do have is what type of make up mirror would you suggest for a almost beginner? There are so many of them out there and they can be overwhelming. Thanks in advance for your help! ❤️
Thank you so much! I’m 47 years old and starting over ( thanks to my beautiful 12 year old daughter) she’s revived my yearning to learn new ways to apply my makeup ! Really appreciate these tutorials ❤
I absolutely love your videos and this one is no exception! At 60 years old, I am constantly learning new things from you. Thank you for your generosity with your time and skill. 💖
I am not a beginner wearing make up but I never had any real guide on how to do it well. Thank you. You are absolutely beautiful, even without the make up.
Hi Nikki! I love your videos. And the way you teach is so nice. Can you do, please one with real mature skin. I struggle especially with the eyes. And making it daily and natural.
Nikki! This is great. I’ve been doing makeup for years and still enjoy these kind of videos. Would you consider sharing how you pack and setup your pro kit!? Essentials!?? 🥹🥹 pretty please with a cherry on top 🍒😂
I´m a chronically ill person whose condition is reflected in my face. I can easily implement most of the tips, which give me back some energy and help me to rebuild my self-esteem on days when I am feeling low. I also love sharing your tips with those around me. Furthermore, your approachable, sincere and appreciative nature, and your words, are so good. Thank you for your commitment and for sharing your knowledge. 💕✨
I just discovered you and love your videos. I would love to see you apply makeup to older, mature skin. I am not having much luck finding good products now like I used to. Product gets into my wrinkles no matter what I do.
Wow, where have you been all my life?! I love this tutorial. This is all inclusive information for newer makeup users, but also people like me who wonder if I have been doing it right this whole time. I am so appreciative of your video! ❤
Thank you Nikki, for teaching us to improve our techniques, I always avoid putting concealer on, because I don't know how to do it so that it looks good on me. A big kiss from Chile 🥰
Thanks for this so much. I’m 25 and never thought I works realistically be able to apply makeup when I already could barely manage my time for any other task in my life until recently. Now I finally might be able to get a routine and technique down, starting from no experience at all.
I used the Fenty Beauty Tint Stick for the first time today. As you said, Nikki, it is fantastic! It is very easy to use and looks really nice on my "mature" skin. Thank you, thank you, thank you!
Always wanted to learn how to fully do my makeup and this is great. I’ve noticed when makeup artists do my makeup, my face doesn’t look dry. This is helping me learn. Thank you so much!
So delighted that you’re covering makeup applications for beginners- during change of the seasons I reevaluate skincare and adjust makeup formulas and colors- getting back to basics is key for beautiful lasting looks
What a great beginner/ refresher video!!! Or is it just that I love listening to you watching you put on makeup? Let’s be honest- I’d watch if you were making Mac n cheese. 😂❤️😂
I really REALLY enjoy your videos! I wore makeup until I was 30 and then stopped until this year (I’m 51yo now). I loved your video on all the foundations and especially the tutorials as I realized so much has changed in 21 years 😂
I'm not even a beginner in makeup, but i learned so much from this video. Especially that lip liner tip. Nikki's videos have always been so helpful and it's always nice to relearn the basics from time to time.
Nikki your video is the best beginner makeup video I've ever watched. As a 58yr old woman I can relate to your content because you explain your techniques so well! I've learnt so much from you. Thankyou ❤️
Thank you, Nikki, for another great video. You are an excellent teacher and so encouraging. I learn so much from your videos. I would love to see you do a makeup application on someone over 60. I struggle with my concealer slipping, moving and cracking despite prepping my under eyes. Thanks so much for yours and Mitch’s hard work. You are amazing humans with such kind hearts and just the kind of people i try to surround myself with. Love you guys. 😊😊😊😊😊
at 55 I have started using makeup 18 months ago and I love it (I was just using lipstick before). There are many reasons that put me off make-up most of my life but I have come to realise the good side of make-up and how your face with makeup can be like clothes for the body. I am having fun on so many levels and I have to see I have been shocked to see how much more people take notice of me or are more charming.to me. Friends ask me if I had a MUA doing my makepup when I go out. RUclips tutorials are incredibly helpful because there is a great deal of technique going into makeup. I learnt by doing and came to realise quickly that the hardest part is getting the skin right. Only recently I came across your videos. Thank you for your in-depth tutorials and videos in general, they are incredibly useful, your teaching skills are really impressive.
Ravie Beauty Dahlia looks so pretty on you! I like that one and I have Tulip, too, but Dahlia seems a little easier to wear. Thanks for the in-depth tutorial!
I just came across your channel & the videos I’ve watched so far are so informative. I’m not expert but have been a makeup lover since I was 15 and as I grow and my skin changes, I’ve come across many challenges. So coming across your channel and learning from someone completely new, it’s amazing and I’m all for it 💕
Thank you for this video. Found it very helpful. I’ve used makeup off and on, but never very happy with it. Now I’m starting over, being 60 with very dry skin and grey hair. Nothing I used to use, really works now. So it is like starting over. I am having trouble with eyeshadows and grey hair and brown eyes. 🥺 I enjoy your content. Thank you.
In my past profession I applied full makeup every day. I even carried over to weekends when I was not with clients. This tutorial brought me back to a lovely basic level of makeup - polished but natural. Thank you for teaching me to go back to the basics. Superb video.
This was super helpful, thank you! This may seem like an obvious answer, but could you please demonstrate how to dampen your sponge? I always make it too wet or not enough
I’ve heard different RUclipsrs say that the era of makeup tutorials are no longer popular. I think when they’re done by a professional like Nikki, they are awesome. I appreciate your videos and hope you never change.
Exactly! The difference is that Nikki is actually super educated and a working makeup artist!
I agree. The accounts that promote themselves as "influencers" are exhausting, unrealistic, and just get paid to promote stuff. Nikki is a breath of fresh air, because it's from a real, honest, and professional point of view. No purchased, fake opinions.

@@cynthiagonzalez3810 Same. As a beginner I don’t want to spend that much on things I’m not sure I’ll like.
Nikki is the absolute best MUA on RUclips. So thorough and sweet. She's taught me so much. Just love her. 👌🏽💕

I agree. I absolutely hate shorts
Thank you so much. I’m 63 years old and have never worn makeup, as terrified I’d end up like a clown. Your tutorial is so inspiring and informative, I’m going to start wearing makeup and applying it in accordance with your guide. You look stunning

I 2nd this.
Nikki! This is great. I’ve been doing makeup for years and still enjoy these kind of videos. Would you consider sharing how you pack and setup your pro kit!? Essentials!?? 🥹🥹 pretty please with a cherry on top 🍒😂
loved this, I'm not a beginner but watched this all the way through and picked up some good tips! x
what an awesome video !
I started watching you with the “make up for non make up wearers”, I love this type of video
Hi Nikki, "you make applying make-up look so easy." Thank you, very nice tutorial. Sandra. Perth, Western Australia. 🇦🇺 ❤
Your skin is beautiful 🥰🥰
I'm not a beginner, but I really loved the video!! I needed a refresher!! Thanks!! You are beautiful as always, Great look for anyone!
Such a great tutorial, Nikki! I too, would love to see a video of you applying makeup on someone 40+
Thank you Nikki, for teaching us to improve our techniques, I always avoid putting concealer on, because I don't know how to do it so that it looks good on me. A big kiss from Chile 🥰
Thank you for all of these tips. You’ve helped me so much and become such a trusted source of the best products and techniques for me so thank you!
I loved this video and sent it to my mom and several friends.
I’m definitely using Nikki’s tutorial ❤ especially the bronzer and eyeshadow part .
Thanks Nikki! This is my dream makeup look and I'm excited to practice this for upcoming family events!
The perfect tutorial! Detailed yet concise, highly informative, technique and application focused, and great relevant product recommendations.😊🎉
Always wanted to learn how to fully do my makeup and this is great. I’ve noticed when makeup artists do my makeup, my face doesn’t look dry. This is helping me learn. Thank you so much!
Gosh, I loveee your videos and techniques! Soft glams are my jams. Thanks Nikki for sharing the classiest wisdom! 😘 💗
So delighted that you’re covering makeup applications for beginners- during change of the seasons I reevaluate skincare and adjust makeup formulas and colors- getting back to basics is key for beautiful lasting looks
Great video Nikki
I don't think anyone does proper tutorials anymore!❤Everything you say not to do, I do..😂 Again, Mac trained artists are the best!
This video is fantastic, I am not a beginner, but I have learned so much,Thank you
Nikki your video is the best beginner makeup video I've ever watched. As a 58yr old woman I can relate to your content because you explain your techniques so well! I've learnt so much from you. Thankyou ❤️
I'm not a beginner, but really enjoyed this video and learned some new tips for lipliner. Thank you!
That was absolutely fantastic. I am 60 & happy to have learned new things. And have shared with all my young nieces.
I think tight lining and mascara is such a beautiful look and look so much more polished than mascara alone. Definitely a great skill to have!
Thank you Nikki-you’re such a good teacher! I learn so much from you! 😊
Thank you so much for your videos. My daughter and I appreciate you! Your make up tutorial has helped us for her performance in ballet.
I'm not a beginner, but I love watching you apply makeup. Great tutorial.
Ravie Beauty Dahlia looks so pretty on you! I like that one and I have Tulip, too, but Dahlia seems a little easier to wear. Thanks for the in-depth tutorial!
I enjoy watching your videos even though I don’t wear makeup but I love how you explain everything and how you apply your makeup
Love this, at 48 my journey is still very new and finding your feet is hard. So thank you. Now just to find the right colours
Not a beginner to make up but always a treat to see fundamentals done professionally. Also the products recommendations were bang on! Thanks Nikki!
Thank you.
Thanks for these tips! I love these more minimalist looks. I'm a hard-core minimalist myself when it comes to makeup.
