    The negative comments are lame.
    When your survival depends on your ingenuity this could power, and recharge many electrical components. This is enough power to run a two way radio etc.
    Thank you for putting another ingenious method in my mental library, might save my life in a SHTF situation.

      The problem is making the generator run at a consistent speed and also to calibrate everything to 60 hertz. If it isn't, than anything you plug in besides a light bulb will burn out. Did you all not see the invertor burn out aka blew up capacitors per incorrect hertz. Now if you can stabilize the fuel pressure and ran it on a actual generator the theory does work. That being said you loose over half of your engines efficiency and power. Can this be done is a yes. Is it also a big waste of time and energy is also a yes. The technology to make this work will never be invented by a major manufacturer to make this a plausible solution. Cool video and experiment though. Also the life of the engine will suffer. They where built for gas folks, sorry.

    So, the "fuel" you're actually using (have to keep adding) is: sodium hydroxide + aluminum + water + the energy needed to cut the aluminum into fine bits + the 2-cycle oil needed to maintain the motor.

    I had high school Chem 51 years ago. I don't remember much and I can say unequivocally, that I have not a clue to what is going on with your experiment. With that said, if it is the water that is doing its thing, and it turns out , what's remaining is the cola for visual entertainment value, can I have that for my Barcardi's lol. The energy comes from the aluminum stealing oxygen from the water, and the sodium hydroxide makes the reaction happen faster (I think). It takes A LOT of energy to make aluminum so you can scavenge it for power during a zombie apocalypse.

    Pro tip: Never use starter fluid or alcohol in 2 stroke engine (or any other engine for that matter, with out extra oiling). Engine relays on thin oil coating to keep it running and alcohol will remove that coating, creating metal to metal contact on bearings, that will lead into engine jamming permanently.

    You know, you don’t have to use the coke, just an aqueous liquid that doesn’t also react with Sodium Hydroxide or aluminum, such as water, so you could also use scrap aluminum, water, and drain cleaner. You could also use steel wool and Muriatic (Hydrochloric) acid to yield the same result (Hydrogen Gas)

    Congrats. You illustrated an alternative way to run an internal combustion engine without gasoline or any oil-based products. I am pretty sure something like this can be upscaled to actually run a vehicle. My question would be, what's the runtime for that contraption you built as it is? and I would be interested in knowing what's the maximum wattage you can generate out of that? I would get another, hopefully, more powerful inverter and this time make sure to include a voltage regulator (DC to DC "step down" buck converter) and then perform load tests and duration of runtime.

    i want to see a a version 2 with the following upgrades:
    7 2 inch wide acryllic tubes roughly 12 inches long are where the reaction takes place
    the "fuel rods" are contained inside of a much larger tube that is also 12 inches long that has a feedwater pump in the back to keep it cool
    the fuel rods can be removed and replaced by unscrewing them, the lids remain connected to the massive lid of the reaction chamber by their pipes
    these pipes connect together into one big line which is then filtered through the 2 5 inch wide acryllic tubes on next to the chamber
    after filtering, this is run into an engine that is bolted down and has an extra 2 wood bands holding it in place in front of the reaction chamber with the generator/motor in the dead front
    in front of the 2 side filters are 6 capacitors to prevent the power surge from blowing the converter and so it still has energy when the reactor needs more juice

    • @romanpackham8471
      @romanpackham8471 2 года назад +1

      if that works, i imagine that a hypothetical V3 will be even more fuel rods that are significantly longer, imagine if it got hot enough to make steam to spin a turbine!

  • @spongejacobw123
    @spongejacobw123 7 лет назад +7

    here's a stupid but plausible idea,
    have the electricity that is being generated run a pump that curculates water that the reaction chamber is in so it doesn't overheat and the water is moving, taking heat away from the reaction chamber and dispersing it elsewhere.
    or, you know you could just use heat sinks to have more surface area for cooling

    • @ExperimentalFun
      @ExperimentalFun  7 лет назад +3

      most of the heat was produced from the sodium hydroxide reacting with the coke, if i waited for it to cool down first before I added the aluminium I think it would have been fine, however a cooling system would be good

    you put ac in to the 75w inverter, you should of converted it to dc then used it in the inverter, igniting hydrogen with out a bubbler involved can back fire into the chamber and explode....

    • @Loetmichel
      @Loetmichel 7 лет назад +3

      Its no AC. Brushed DC motors like this put out DC if driven. But he reversed the rotation, so he should have reversed the wires, too. the Inverter burned up because of reverse polarity. Look at it stating: it turns the wrong way when it actually starts.

    • @TheApo98
      @TheApo98 7 лет назад +1

      this motors are called "dc motors" because they can run with dc current. but if they are used as a generator, they output an AC signal

    • @Loetmichel
      @Loetmichel 7 лет назад +3

      TheApo98 Wrong. These pure dc brushed motors with permanent magnets as stator that are from electric scooters are putting out pulsating dc. Polarity depends on direction of rotation though.

    • @TheApo98
      @TheApo98 7 лет назад +2

      i guess you are right. they have a commutator and the windings on the rotor so they output dc bumps that you can smooth out with some capacitors. thanks for correcting me.

    I love when the algorithm spits out something super interesting that was uploaded forever ago and people just getting here say "do this do that" and then it's in the next video, that's from forever ago as well. Makes me giggle

    you could have just separate hydrogen from water and directly run it to the engine

    no voltage regulator. that electrical motor produces quite a bit more then 12v i would presume atleast at that rpm😅

      Still 12 volts buddy. The frequency changes. You need 60 hertz for anything american. All cars and the power from your elexteic company or store bought generator is 60 hertz. Anything more or less and you watch it smoke or blow up as you seen in this video. His invertor smoked and the caps blew up. You can power light bulb this way and that's it.

    Great work but hopefully in the future, if it's a real generator, it should have a 110 outlet that you can plug something into.

    This is good but what about the waste?, and should connect the hydrogen generator of this project, with the voltage generator of the other project and use a 4-stroke engine so that it does not use mixture oil

    so basicly you are not runing it o coke but the water in the coke as the aliinum splits H from the h20 spiting out hydroge ad the motor runs on that
