The latching transpose is a very welcome addition. I don't personally need the program changes, but I'm glad to see you're adding new features in several areas. Keep it up!
Thanks for the latching transpose, which makes the transpose function work in a more intuitive way! And thanks for the firmware updates! As a long time Arturia customer I knew times when that didn't work that well (analog factory). But with the microfreak your firmware update policy was exemplary. I also have the microbrute and the minibrute 2 and apart from the sticky-knob-issue I love them both. I had the Beatstep pro and the original Keystep but sold them after buying the Keystep pro. And I've got the V-Collection (since V2) that keeps being interesting and has been setting an example on the market, after which other brands began to develop synthesizer colledctions too. All in all, after all these years I still love your gear, while my fascination for a lot of other products of other brands has declined. Thanks, Arturia!
thank god for the program change update. that feature is vital and it's why i keep buying my same old controller when i wear it out. while i like having the MSB/LSB flexibility, having a not so buried PC change would be still so helpful. i loved the old shift + octave up/down = PC inc/dec like in old yamahas. can't for the life of me understand why something like that is so hard to do amidst all of the sophistication in modern controllers
please please add program changes to Keystep 37. There is already logic entry because it knows how to add steps to the sequencer using 1-16 keys. Love all of the sequencing features but why are these controllers dumber than the Yamaha CBX-K1 from 1995. Just let us have program change :'(
Very welcome update! Especially the per track settings including Program Changes per pattern 😊 Hopefully the release of the Chroma edition will regain interest for the KSP and we’ll see more nice updates for the Original and Black editions, too 👍🏻

Ya this sounds great, if i am understanding it correctly, I can have each Part have a different sound. So if each part is a Verse, Chorus, Bridge sort of structure, I can change the preset sounds on my synth device, per part. right...
Thank you sooo much Arturia for the new program change feature included in the firmware update 2.5! This was the missing gem in this awesome device! Now it's there! Awesome! You made my day! 🥰🤩🥳
As a decent song mode is missing it would be nice if the KSP would also respond to incoming program changes. So not only sending them. Loading projects and changing / chaining patterns could then be done from another sequencer so the sequences on the KSP could be integrated.
Common Arturia… it has a build in sequencer, which is very usefull in a DAW-less setup. But this also needs some capabilities to ‘follow’ other hardware. So only PC out doesn’t make sense, it should also receive PC commands for changing patterns.
well, assuming you've already installed the firmware update, it should be as simple as going into the menu (shift+project) and entering track options, or whatever it's called. there you should see a couple of PC named options. the first one is a on/off switch which needs to be turned on, and the second one, or the one with numbers, is the one you wanna mess with. hope it helps!@@RayMcNamaraMusic
The new program change feature is not working for me in some patterns. I updated to Firmware v. 2.5.14, but no program change, MSB or LSB data is being transmitted in some cases. I have carefully followed the instructions in the new manual, but monitoring MIDI Outs 1-4 with MIDI-OX and Borne SendSX shows that no program change, MSB or LSB data is being received, my DAW is not receiving such data and my hardware synths are not changing programs. UPDATE 11 DEC: After doing a hard reset, program changes ARE working, but only in blank patterns. Pre-recorded patterns in saved projects do not accept program change data. UPDATE 12 DEC: Newly recorded patterns in newly created projects DO now accept program change data. Old patterns in old projects created with the previous firmware and backed up using MIDI Control Center then imported DO NOT accept program change data. Having a similar problem? Report it to Arturia support.
I sent a video to Arturia support (per their request) showing how this does not work. They subsequently asked for a project dump file to take a look at. Waiting to hear back from them on that. Hopefully they can find a workaround.
@@theweilfamilyArturia support has suggested that I import an old project created by an earlier firmware version and then modify it and save it in the new version (2.5.14), then try adding program change data. Have you tried that?
@@robst247 I honestly did not have any backups of projects before Arturia suggested I back up all of them and then perform a factory reset (just like you). Obviously this is an issue, if they can't just tell us exactly what to do right away. Bad testing on their part.
@@theweilfamilyI had not thought of creating backups either until this problem occurred. There is clearly a bug in Firmware v2.5.14. Blank or newly created patterns in new projects DO accept program change data. Arturia taking requests for Minibrute 2s updates? I wish I could get more note range on the pads in scale mode. Please assign each pad its own unique note in scale mode so we can get 2 octaves+ out of it! Like KORG does with the Volca modular. As of now, for the MB2s, you only get like 6 unique notes on the pads when in scale mode since there are repeat notes within the 12 note pads. Seems like a bit of an oversight, and I'd get way more use out of the velocity/pressure pads if I could condense my scales to multiple octaves with the pads. Thanks Arturia!
Wish we could set the track one drum voices to different midi channels for each voice! Would be an easy to implement update and greatly increase Keystep Pro’s utility. I’d love to use it to trigger 6 drum multis on Virus TI2 , reserving the other 3 tracks for bass/lead/pad
neat! If I hadn't just bought the MKIII essentials and the beatstep pro I would totally get this special edition keystep pro. Super pretty. Maybe I'll sell them to get it but we'll see. Super neat new features though.
Puh, I am almost happy that you didn't revamp the Arpeggiator with a rhythmic functionality, like the Uno synth Pro has (but sadly only monotimbral), though it would be the most natural and logical usage for the 16 steps in Arp mode. On and off for certain Arp steps. Now I still don't have to buy the Keystep Pro and to wonder where to find a place for it (I would have long ago, if the Arp would have the aforementioned feature). Maybe in 2025 with V3.0 ? 😉😮💨
Would be nice also to add MIDI CC independent by MIDI CH, meaning if I'm on track 4, assuming is on Midi CH 4 as well, have the ability to set CC to the 5 encoders in the same midi CH, and if you change let say to track 3 (MIDi CH also 3), the encoders can send different CC to a different implementation.
