Cameron chill man. Lol, once you put that together that's going to look amazing those Forks look Wicked pissah bro. Just putting it out there them things look great and I'm sure they will function amazingly well. Don't sweat the small stuff. I do understand you pay a lot of money and you want to get what you pay for but sometimes stuff happens if it was me I would run it and the next time I have them done I'd make sure that they do it the way I wanted it originally. Aside from that, they clearly do a quality job, so the coating should hold up for a while at least until your forks need a complete rebuild I'm sure the coating will serve its purpose and do what it's supposed to do. it clearly looks like it was done right. That thing looks amazing just saying
It's a bummer when you have a vision in your head and it turns out differently (especially when it's out of your hands) but those forks, along with the shock and your powder coating, look perfect together! Also, really looking forward to seeing the valving video and how much of a difference you notice in speed and/or overall comfort. Nice work!
Looks amazing man. I have a 87 kx250 I'd love to give you. Fully free I just wanna see you make it to what it should be. Plz like this so he can see it☺
Watched this video multiple times and that color combo is just perfect to me. You were right to be upset with the color at first since that's no where close to what you wanted but it works when all together. That bike would go to the grave with me. Nah, I would want someone else to enjoy it.
The thing is, this bike is too perfect to ride hard, I would just keep it in the garage while it's fresh and clean because I wouldn't wanna cover every inch with dirt 😂 If I were you, i'd propably convert it into a Supermoto! But you do you man! Great work on this project and greetings from Finland!
And btw, you've propably been asked this a thousand times but, since i'm new to the channel, I'd like to know if you have any roots in Finland? Your last name "Niemelä" is Finnish!
The details on this suspension is outstanding! Watching how the SKF seals colour matches the tubes is amazing, the same goes with the red nut on the valve and the spring. Man, this is so satisfying to watch!
Once you are done you should break down all the costs so we all have an idea of how expensive it is to build a bike the right way like you have! Great video cam
I just put together a nitrogen setup to fill shocks and really whatever I want with nitrogen like tires because nitrogen holds a more steady pressure than air. You can get into it really cheap, the tank will be the biggest expense. I bought a no loss chuck digital filler but you can also just fill it off the nitrogen regulator with a regular air chuck by setting your regulator to the desired pressure and that will get you close. I paid under 50 bucks for a regulator on amazon then 25 for a hose but you can get a lot cheaper on the hose. A little tip as well what i learned is the no loss chuck needs to thread on quite a ways onto the Schrader valve and mine were too short so motion pro makes a Schrader valve extension that fixes this so you can use a no loss chuck. For anyone thinking about getting their own nitrogen filling setup you really should because it can be done a lot cheaper and better i think than the nitrogen filling kits you can buy. Like I said for the bare minimum a tank, regulator, hose, air chuck it can be done at a very reasonable cost. You can also get a no loss chuck by itself for 30 dollars on amazon and use the regulator for the guage if your worried about using a regular tire chuck. My local bike shop charges 38 dollars to fill with nitrogen and they are the only shop around that has it.
u can put the toe in the vice and tighten the tube by pushing a rod through the holes in the top of the tube and tighten,Ive just rebuilt some gsxr forks doing it this way
At least the dust seal matches the tube colour.. still looks badass and besides everyone has that burnt blue color this is a one of a kind mate.. I looked into those self greasing swing arm bolt but they don't have one for CRF450r
A little tip on shock assembly--clamp the body (safely!) in a vise, and with the piston submerged and the body full of fluid, WHACK the rod end with a ~2 pound (or so) Rawhide Mallet. You're only moving the piston an eighth inch or so, but it will splash a bit sometimes. Repeat until no more bubbles emerge. This is the *only* way to get all the air out of the valve stack. If you think you've been doing it right all these years, try shocking the stack as described, I guarantee you WILL get bubbles out of the valve stack!
Cam! Come on Man! Those fork tubes look FANTASTIC! More importantly, the benefits of the coatings are still present despite the color. Just beautiful. Honestly, I don’t know how you’re going to bring yourself to ride this thing and get it dirty, as gorgeous as it is! You ought to offer it up to a factory pro for the Red Bull straight rythym😉👍
Thanks for another great vid, it's always a pleasure. The suspension components look amazing! Details like the black bottoming cone take this project to a level rarely seen even in the paddock at an AMA national. You sir, are an absolute master of your craft!
Great job and instructional vid and I have worked on many of my own shocks over the years. I got sick of the "mystery" of woking on suspension parts and the outrageous fees the shops charged for the work. So I decided one day I was going to tackle the suspension mystery and as it turned out it's no mystery at all you just need to do a little research, watch some great vids like yours and buy a few inexpensive "special" tools and it's not that big a deal. The tools were far cheaper than what the shop charged and I figured, hey, wtf, if I screw it up I can, then, just take it to the shop...That said, as you pointed out, it is critical you have not even one small air bubble in the oil of the shock or that will expand when the oil heats up and the shock will fade big time and there's goes your dampening. What you didn't say or do which I like to do is, when you finish the shock, before you put the spring on, get the nitrogen filled to spec then stand the shock on end and compress the shock, then let it expand on it's own and if you have any air in it, the shaft will push back out at normal speed until it is at the last maybe inch of the travel then it will speed up and kind of snap out quick at the end of the travel. That's a sure way to check if you missed some air bubbles before you re-assemble everything and figure out later when riding you need to pull everything apart and do it over... I have a big write up on "YFZCentral" detailing shock rebuilds. User name "trxxx250r". It's regarding a YFZ450R quad bu it's the same thing.
Dude to be honest that color fork looks sick and it’s something new! I haven’t seen that color on a bike yet so it makes it that much different of a build 🙌
Idk about anyone else but does anyone just watch cams vids for satisfaction purposes cause hes so precise and clean that's why I love watching your vids man
Cameron really do appreciate all these videos you do because wen i get a bike i can jusr follow these videos and i can do it myself witch i really like. because then its not an arm and a leg for shop fees and paying the dealer 100$ for a40$ part or whatever.
My most anticipated video on RUclips. I’ve been checking every day. It drove me crazy. Glad you decided to stick with what you got because I’d loose my mind if you sent them back. BTW that color looks great. Those are the most exotic looking forks I’ve ever seen.
I say it a lot i love your videos, i haven't got an MX bike any more but dam you make me want one. You really go to town on the proper way to do something i like it a lot. Real good to see you doing so well, you have come a long way from your early videos you are looking and coming across PRO :) You got to rip this so hard when she's done.
i think it looks pretty cool but it does bring another colour into your theme, so understand your dilemma. i think if you have some foil decal or even a metallic pinstripe or accent somewhere maybe of similar colour it will blend.perfectly. it’s the little touches
Colour combo goes well that shock really stands out :) great work as always I’d not want to get it dirty now just look at it every day :) top job buddy
saw you put compressed air in the bladder.. did you bleed it before filling with nitrogen? seems like that would potentially introduce an air bubble since it will reduce in volume..
Another great video Cam, never seen anyone pay so much attention to detail as you do and i'm the same. I have to ask you though about the Ceracote and powder coat. I've done 2 frame up restorations on LT80's and i loved doing it, plus selling the 2nd pretty much paid for the 1st. Anyway i plan to restore my 2004 KX250F back to showroom condition and was wondering how much money do you think you have put into the CR250 with using those coatings? Of course i plan to coat them myself, just would like to know about how much do you have invested in just the materials. Thanks (I never sold the bike because i think it's gonna be pretty cool to have Kawasaki's 1st modern 4-stroke race bike)
Cameron, the coating you received are sick, be thankful they didn't coat to your picture. They are sweet go with it. The downside; you should of went with gold anodized or the billet aluminium look on the lower tubes. Either way they are sweet. EDIT Sorry man I finished watching the video your set-up is badass
Next video will be....
Cameron Niemela first ride 👽🔥
... up tomorrow🤞
plastics and graphics

Thanks guys! I can't wait to get this thing on the track!
They look waaaaaay better than those in the picture!!!!
I think so too. It's so sick lookin
I agree!!! Those are sexy lol
The color isn't exactly what you envisioned, but I think it looks pretty dope - kinda reminds me of Oakley Prizm Jade lenses.
Looks amazing man. I have a 87 kx250 I'd love to give you. Fully free I just wanna see you make it to what it should be. Plz like this so he can see it☺
captaincsp looks like you owe him a kx250 now
@@mrdestroyer515 fuck yeah my guy
you dont even know how much i have waited for this !!!!!!!!!!!!
“If Chris Fix it had a dirt bike” oh god damnit, now they have to meet 🤣
Cinematic on point boi 🤤
Thanks brotha
the amount of work put into the build with always going the extra mile to perfect the minute details is just on another level

Damn dude, don’t be disappointed ,that finish is freakin sick😍

@@CameronNiemela Ah, that's what I thought! Have you ever visited Finland? If not, I can certainly recommend you do!

Old video, but I absolutely love the color. I know it’s not what you were after, but I’m rewatching this build and I’m always in awe at the color
u can put the toe in the vice and tighten the tube by pushing a rod through the holes in the top of the tube and tighten,Ive just rebuilt some gsxr forks doing it this way
Good to see her coming together little jealous after my 250 blew up yesterday evening
Once you place the coated tube next to the rest of the blackout parts,I got feels it looks damn good....breathtaking....
At least the dust seal matches the tube colour.. still looks badass and besides everyone has that burnt blue color this is a one of a kind mate..
I looked into those self greasing swing arm bolt but they don't have one for CRF450r
Did the coating wear off on the stancions or is it still perfect?
Just awesome. Following this build all the way from Ghana, West Africa. Love your work ethics. Looking forward to the next vid. Keep on keeping on !

I think it looks really good, stylish instead of different colors on the legs, what patience you have!
Cant wait to see this bike being ridden around a track! There needs to be a community day type deal where we can meet up with you to ride!
That's in the works!
Hi bro, what is the name of coating process ?
DUUUUUUUUDE!!! Those coatings are SICK! Definitely going to have to incorporate them into my 2001 KDX 200 rebuild!
Would love to see a video explaining the effects of more or less oil, and heavier or lighter weight.
That turquoise Ti-Ni turned out great. I wouldn't be disappointed at all. Looks like SGB did a good job.
All I can say is, WOW!!!! You've done an awesome job on this CR Cameron. Bravo

I have seen you rebuild these at least 3 times I hope this time I see them on the bike finally
Oh buddy she's coming along nicely can't wait till fully done hopefully u make a time laps of the build
Dude those forks look soo awesome! You got the showa factory look on the forklegs. Looks so dope! I'm sure they will match the bike perfectly

Hey cameron i just wanted to let you know your such an inspiration and i love your positivity. Keep it up my friend
If you use loctite try using starting fluid or brake clean on threads
Dude that shock set up would look sick on my yz. Except would need to do the rear shock spring in about the same color.
Looks awesome!! Nice detailed explanation on reassembly on forks and shock. I agree those fork caps woulds look good in black. Awesome job!!
Can't wait for it to be 100% complete its going to look so good, them colours on the fork tubing looks really good to. Keep up the great work Cameron

This build is insane! Be sure to do a summary after the build where you list everything you have done to this bike and how much money you spent👍
Can’t wait to see the bike totally finished!

Maybe take some lap times for future comparison with the forks revalved and resprung? Also those dlc coatings are looking hot!
Great idea!
I think it's a blessing. That green is incredible.
Could you torch em a bit to get more purple like they do on titanium exhausts?
I'm afraid that wouldn't work
The bikes gonna look sooooo good! Can not wait for it to be finished!!
Actually I dug both color schemes so either way you weren’t going to lose. Anxious to see bike completed.
How the heck can you remember how everything goes back together! Great job.
Looks Trick! Just had mine done minus the coating,I should have had the coating done it looks badass!
i think it looks pretty cool but it does bring another colour into your theme, so understand your dilemma.
i think if you have some foil decal or even a metallic pinstripe or accent somewhere maybe of similar colour it will blend.perfectly. it’s the little touches
Thanks for all the effort and detail you put into your videos, really clears things up
Perfect timing on this video. I got my fork rebuild kit the day before this was uploaded.
One of the sickest builds on the block.
Common people could only dream about insane build like this. AWESOME
Nice video man that bikes lookin better and better 👍
Those look sick! But if they would be okay with replating oem parts, I would just buy a used set, send it off and have then two sweet sets!
PLS do an epic supermoto !
"go a head and grab your shaft and we're going to work this thing in" lol
You can measure it accurately by getting a Crowsfoot and then using that with your torque wrench
Great job! Hope you'll have a ton of fun riding this beauty!!!
Hi friend, I hope you are well. One question, how many pounds of air did you enter the cushion container? o How much to add?
The end of the video explains it. 145psi
Excited to see your progress! I love the details here
That coating looks real dope

EDIT Sorry man I finished watching the video your set-up is badass
What color are the fork tubes? @Cameron
Quite an operation really. This made me realize that I'm not paying too much at all, to have all this work + re-valving done by a suspension guy. :)
I like the colors, the green looks better than the purple IMO
People go on about forks as a specialist job, specialist tools yes but it looks very straight forward
ESPECTACULAR WORKS 🎉🎉🎉🏆🥇🍺💪 FROM SPAIN 🇪🇸 !!! CONGRATULATION🎉🎉🎉🎉🍺🍺🍺🍺🍺
Even though it wasn’t what you wanted, they look great
The other fork color looked good
Wow looks great, the valve and shim compare video will be good
Deaumn ur suspension is the coolest ive ever seen. And again blessed🔥😍❤
They look amazing
Looks sweet!!! Can’t wait to see it all out together!!! Awesome videos!!!
Put paper sheet on your tube clamp!!
And on the seal driver tool!, ... that protect for scratch
Great idea!
This thing's gonna be awesome bro! Excellent job, pretty excited to see it done
What can i say? Awesome again! bike is gonna be a real ripper.
Sick, you and Cole Seely need to ride together when the bikes are finished
I have nothing much to say... THEY ARE JUST SO AWESOME LOOKING!!
I think The forks look good BTW great job on your bike you should do a four wheeler next
