Thanks for that :) The silver/black/yellow livery was introduced in late 2007, the grey livery is now slowly replacing that. Only a handful of 071s have been repainted so far.
Thanks for that Peter, I tried to get in as many spots as possible whilst keeping an eye on time. Was lucky catching it at Rathpeacon, missed a turn in the city & the one-way system did it's best to screw me up :/ And as for the last comment, coming from a married man, disgraceful!! :D
Thanks. Even the Cravens have those riduculous numbers on show. Not likely to see either wandering around the UK or eastern European networks anytime soon so all a bit pointless! :P
Thanks Matt, would be worth your while to come over for a railtour. Normal day to day passenger services are now railcar (DMU) dominated except for a bit of loco haulage on the Dublin - Cork route.
Superb collection of clips. I was on that yesterday - my first visit to.Ireland. Glad there are some good videos of the train passing
Great videos! It was a really great railtour.
Great footage and that noise is so musical here with a new paint job too
Thanks Colman 👍
Great Video. I was in Midleton when you were taking the shot of 071 approaching.
I was also on that. Was a great tour. Traveled from South wales to do it! A bit different to the usual 37 tours I do in the UK
Excellent video man, I love the way it got everyone excited at Midelton and Cork.
Thanks DB! You should have popped over and said hi, would have been nice to meet you :)
Thanks, glad you enjoyed it, seemed everyone had a great time :)
Thanks, it was indeed, very well organised :)
Absolutely fantastic video !

Thanks m8 & hope you enjoyed yourself, was a nice day out :)
Glad you liked it Finbarr! Was a fun day out :)

It was the first railtour to Midleton since 1984 and its the first loco hauled passenger train since 1988!!
Thanks Fran :)
Great video man!
Didn't notice you at the time with all the people taking photos, sorry about that. Nice one and liked :)
SO you were the person on the top of the Midleton platform with the tripod!
great vid. iv never been to ireland. the train look very different to the one by me in south wales
Nice video Danny, got that myself at Heuston when it ran !
Thanks! I saw your vid alright :)
Closed railway lines in Co, Cork should be reopened to stop Pollution, Car Accidents, Road Deaths & Pollution.
Glad you enjoyed yourself, there's a few steam tours coming up in August, you'd be more than welcome to pop over for them :)
Cool, look forward to seeing it :)
I would have liked to meet up with you and DB too! Midleton is my local train station.
Looks like a scaled down version of our N Class. Reckon a 071 would sound awesome with a 5 - Chime horn
VERY RARE because Midleton is a dead end station. Only times locos come to midleton is fro the sperry and the weedsprayer.
Oh my, its must be soo rare to see a light engine in Midelton.
Hi. Nice filming. Is that a new livery for the class 071's?
No prob m8, might see you again sometime :)
Great view 4:12. That battleship grey livery looks quite impressive, although I don't know why they need to use that complicated Euro-number system.
Thanks. Even the Cravens have those riduculous numbers on show. Not likely to see either wandering around the UK or eastern European networks anytime soon so all a bit pointless! :P

I'm not familiar with that loco m8, where does it run?
It a shame the run around points at cobh were all ripped up
Cool, might see you another time m8 :)
Ah well then its very rare, Mildenton reminds me of the Howth Branch, you barely see any light engines only day.
Nice video
Glad you enjoyed it thanks.
@ 4:10 onwards that was EPIC :D
Hopefully I was at the bottom of Platform 1 in Midleton and I was there for a while I should have came up!
Hehe thanks! You'd never know Ken Fox was driving would you? :D
Foxer was flat out!! :D
lol well that's one way of putting it I suppose :)
T'was indeed :D
A blue train in Cork?? What the feck!! What next ... a Black and Tan one???? I’m joking!! 🤭😊😉
