As A Bihari Teenager Studying in Maharashtra. I can say the only differnce between Maharashtra and Bihar is Mentality of the people. If people in bihar will not give respect to private mployess there will be no growth.
This statement is so unscientific. How do you define "mentality". Are people from maharashtra have other DNA or alien genetics than people from bihar? Public policies makes the difference along with sociopolitical structure of bihar. It is a feudal state with huge inequality. Whereas maharshtra is well off because it is closer to sea.
@THE ZOLDICS brother here in maharashtra even the poorest are not defended on government on their living they say here in maharashtra ki kya hua naukri nahi hai to ek chai ki tapri kholenge and my friend even the chai seller have thier four storie building here were in bihar if you dont have job the parents can spend you thousands and lakhs for study but wouldnot allow you to open a chai ka dukan they will say log kya kahenge and this is the biggest fault in the mentalaty
Being a bihari I tell you main problem 1. Corruption 2. Selfishness 3. Selling of vote for liquor and money 4. Not speaking against system rather being part of it 5. Focus on degrees rather skills and dream of government jobs

I am from Hyderabad and we are repeatedly told by our elders about how much our former CM Chandrababu Naidu struggled to bring Wipro to Hyderabad. Hyderabad till then was like any other random city and there were no traces of IT in the city. People say the first step is the most difficult one. Bringing Wipro to Hyderabad was like moving mountains then. Even though I don't like Naidu much, I must appreciate him for bringing IT to the city. If not for his vision, Hyderabad perhaps would be a normal tier 2 city now. After Wipro, Infosys came to the city, followed by other smaller companies. The biggest impetus to IT in Hyderabad was setting up of Microsoft center in Hyderabad, later making it the headquarters of Microsoft India. Naidu personally went to meet Bill Gates in Delhi. According to some sources, he waited like a normal person outside Gates' cabin with a file in his hand and desparately convinced Gates to open a center in Hyderabad, giving him powerpoint presentations and telling him about future plans of the Government to develop Hyderabad into an IT hub. Gates was convinced and he was allocated huge amount of land just opposite the Wipro center. Today, the Microsoft Hyderabad campus is the largest Microsoft office outside its headquarters in the US. They recently opened a huge data center, further deepening their roots in the city. Amazon recently opened their largest office in THE WORLD in Hyderabad. Google held a ground breaking ceremony day before yesterday to build their largest campus outside Silicon valley in Hyderabad. By the way, Hyderabad is also the Indian headquarters for amazon and Google too, like Microsoft. Apple is constructing it's center in the city to explore opportunities to expand. And, Naidu is also responsible for the pharmaceutical industry too in Hyderabad. Hyderabad is an undisputed giant in pharma sector in India. Some call it the Pharma capital of the world (I know its exaggerated😁). The setting up of Genome valley, at the same time as Wipro opening its campus in the city, gave a huge push and an early start for the city in the pharma race. Now CM KCR is planning a big Pharma city along Southern outskirts of Hyderabad, with special focus on API manufacturing that would reduce India's dependency on China. Many companies already got land and are planning constructions there. Why i am saying this is- if Governments are sincere, the impossible can be possible. Bihar Government is not sincere, that's clearly visible. Naidu too could have blamed lack of access to sea and wash away his hands. But, he chose to wait outside the gates of an industrialist with file in his hands and a vision in his mind for his city.
true and now the current government is trying there best to bring the same wave in warangal , they had tried so hard to get tech mahindra and other companies there . this wave of geniune leadership is the reason for the success of telangana and INFACT telanganas gdp is more than andhra pradesh evn after having a coast line

Biggest problem is Bihari mindset. Recently I was in my village near Patna where we were discussing the state of unemployment in Bihar. Most people in their 20s are of the view that Bihars job problems are because there are less govt jobs. When I asked them why they cannot work in private jobs there was a standard reply that work pressure jyada hota hai bhaiya, naukri ka koi bharosa nahi hota etc. I explained them how industries in Gujarat and Maharashtra has developed those states. To this an agitated aspirant said “Hume Bihar mai Adani aur Ambani nahi chahiye”. I laughed and did not argue with them. All of these guys were atleast 25 and had no real world experience. They all had a BA degree with no skills. No technical skills, no soft skills. Even if they are trained in a vocational course, they do not have the attitude to internalize those skills. This is a very typical mindset of Bihari youth. Most sensible ones leave Bihar and move to Delhi Mumbai Surat Ahmedabad and make a decent living. On the contrary in Gujarat I did not find a single gujju friend of mine sitting idle at 25. Some of them migrated to US, some started jobs, some went for masters and few of them started their own business. One guy started his own led bulb business in Anand and is making a killing. Everyone was doing something and earning themselves. And its not that they are not preparing for govt exams. I know people who got into GPSC while working in Ahmedabad. This is a fundamental reason I think is responsible for the mess Bihar is in.
I'm South Indian I have met some people from Bihar in my village they came here to work on irrigation Project They're very hard working and it's sad that they are being paid less

being a person of bihari origin, I can vouch for bihari's mentality, casteism, extreme patriarchy and lack of education being the strongest reasons for its degraded state.
Are you currently in bihar ? If yes, then please observe the needs of the people in your state. And if no, then I want you to know that only two things you mentioned in your comment are correct - "Lack of Education" and also 'Patriarchy' ( though I believe that the problem of patriarchy is disappearing gradually ). But , the problem in Biharis' mentality and the problem of casteism is eradicating at a much faster rate. Kyuki jab jeena mushkil ho jaaye tab aadmi apne jaat ke baare mein nhi sochta, wo apne aap ke baare mein sochta hai. Tan usse lagta hai ki kisi bhi caste ka CM kyu naa ho, bas kaam accha karna chahiye. This mentality was clearly visible in last election in bihar. No one was willing to give vote in the name of caste, instead, they wanted to give vote to that party who will work for their upliftment. But sadly, Biharis' are not getting meaningful choice ( all parties are bad and corrupt).

As a bihari, it feels immense pain to see the condition of my state. But comparing the times we have had here to the time we are in right now, I feel may not be in near future but in distant, apna Bihar will tackle these problems as well. Jai hind. Jai Bihar.
I had entered Bihar for its cheap labor before covid , had a lot of hopes but now I hate it to my core. We had a man who made a casteist slur at another employee and according to our policy we removed him. He then falsely accused our company of cruelty which we debunked with our Cctv footage, he then along with his family punctured the tires of some random cars outside our textile factory thinking it belongs to us. However this wasnt even the worst part, the worst part was when we filed an FIR against the man and a police officer literally came to our door step to persuade us to drop the case bcz they both were of the same caste. I have never experienced this kind of nonsense in my life! 2ndly, the people there are very hardworking but not sincere. In other parts of india we quickly delegate the operations to someone else and the factories work smoothly but in bihar people don't work properly if you're not keeping an eye on them. While I sympathize with their situation, bihar isn't a hill I want to die on.
I am from Jharkhand, which was a part of Bihar until 2000. I have visited Bihar multiple times and all the problems mentioned in the video are 100% factual. I had a few relatives in Bihar who were big businessmen and due to extortion, they had to flee to West Bengal and other states, as a few high officials threatened them with murders and kidnapping. I feel so bad for Bihar and Jharkhand as well (which is better but not very much different from Bihar). The mentality of people really need to change. I have lived in many places in India now, and now going back to Bihar shows me how challenging it is to live there.
It's so hard to be a bihari. You are super proud of your history and super worried about the socio politcal situation there and the real lack of will of governance

Okay, first of all thanks for making a video on this type of issue. Being a Bihari I felt that I should also say something on this issue, I come from Begusarai ,Barauni which is the industrial capital of Bihar, there were many industries like thermal power, sugar mill, fertilizer center are there .People from nearby district also used to come here to find employment, but the goons of the Communist Party started factionalism here. There was an ambience of contradiction created among the people. Some industries started closing from there, And then came Lalu's Jungle Raj government, in which big traders, engineers, industrialists etc started being looted or ransom was demanded from them, for fear of which no big industrialist started coming here. Then came Nitish Kumar's government who divided Bihar only in the name of caste. In the name of General & Non General, bihar has been divided into two parts. Even nowadays people are compelled to find there employment in other state , the very important reason reason behind is the incompetent leaders of Bihar and foolish people like you and me who have elected them....hope you understand 👍😔
And fear of people voting for new parties like bjp and Pushpam Priya's party who are educated ones.. they only go for caste based vote or vote by the perception that who are major leaders like Nitish & Lalu.. Bihar's way out is to develop high-end manufacturing industries, educational hubs using Nalanda card and promoting its history so that a positive and respectful attitude is developed towards the state.
High-end manufacturing is not a viable solution because 1) huge investment needed for sophisticated capital and machinery which nobody will do in Bihar given the vasooli reputation 2) requirement of either very skilled labor which bihar lacks, or employment of sophisticated machinery which ultimately means not many jobs created 3) tha Nalanda card isn’t a viable strategy. It’s been ages since the importance of Nalanda as a premier university declined. IITs IIMs and NLUs are the de-facto flagbearers of premier education in India now. What Bihar needs is an organised cooperative for agricultural development and processing. Taking the raw agricultural material produced and processing them within the state itself to create value and jobs
How do you transition from Agri economy? You start with agricultural based industries. You have lots of poor people? you provide good education. You have lots of corruption? you make strong anti corruption department. You have inequality? You tax the rich and provide subsidies to poor You have caste problems ? You improve law and order and Justice system which is especially compassionate towards backward classes. & You slowly use your tax Money to Urban infrastructure. That's how it happens, but there are very bad incentive among the Political class to not do so.
High end manufacturing ? Bruh. High end manufacturing are very capital intensive and skill intensive, they will mostly go for stable states with friendly business policies, such as Maharashtra, Gujarat, Tamil Nadu, Telangana, Haryana, Karnataka, Western UP etc. Bihar should better focus on low end industries such as Textile, Plastic, etc. They can ace their. These Industries are not very capital intensive, they are not very skill intensive, they also require huge amount of labours (which means more and more people will get job), also Bihar has tons of cheap labours. Look at Bangladesh, it is developing on a lightning speed with just single industry of textile.
This including image building is obviously a long term plan lol it is not possible to directly transition from what Bihar today is. You always start from base.
@@engineeredarmy1152 Even in long term, if you are talking about 15-20 years, even then Bihar won't be able to attract high end manufacturing, other states who are decades ahead of Bihar, will always triumph over Bihar.

Jharkhand gdp per capita 70000 approx bihar gdp per capita 51000 approx Bihar rank 1 st while Jharkhand rank 2 nd rank in poorest state of india In terms of literacy rate also Jharkhand is neck to neck with bihar Aur yaad rakhna ye sab tab jab Jharkhand gives 40 % of the total minerals to the country. There is no way Bihar will be changed even in next 25 years. Back in 2011 i lived in Bihar for one year, One day during a social drinking session, I met a prominent figure who was investing his money to setup a medium scale factory in UP yet close to Bihar Border, i asked Sir you are a Bihari so why you are not trying to setup here, Gentlemen got emotional and told me that he tried two years ago and lost everything. He bought small land from farmers and within few weeks his land was occupied by few people , they planted Red flags with hammer and Sickle and that person lost all his investment and borrowed money as well. this happened because he belonged from General Upper Caste, this was a quite different thing for me, as from where i belong these things are extremely unusual to digest but Later i verified this statement with many local villagers and a Yadav ji Halwaai (Sweetshop owner) and they all confirmed the same. Me and my friends then realized this state can never develop. Though i do not live in India since many years but i still very vividly remember that discussion and time spent in Bihar. Important Buddhist pilgrimage sites include the Bodhi Tree in Bodhgaya's Mahabodhi Temple, under which the Buddha allegedly meditated. In the state capital Patna, Mahavir Mandir temple is revered by Hindus, while Sikhs worship at the domed, riverside Gurdwara of Takht Sri Harmandir Sahib Ji.

If the issue is the lack of ports, the best way is to use the rivers. Every Indian state (except Rajasthan and Gujarat, maybe) is full of rivers. Transportation canals can be developed just as in China and the corn belt in the US. Of course, it will be a huge investment, but the effects would be tremendous. Water transportation is very cheap, waterways need low maintenance and goods can be shipped in bulk. Plus, Bihar is relatively not too far from the sea. The problem is that the government doesn't want to work, and most people are so poor that they only think about tomorrow. There is no long-term vision for people who are hungry and underfed. The state just needs a visionary leader.

Bihar politicians didn't reduce social inequality by a bit. They maintained this inequality and exploited it to gain political control and engage in corruption. The Human development index of Bihar, which is the lowest in India is the proof of this exploitation and corruption. Why Bihar has no industry 1: Lalu Yadav 2: Caste-based politics 3: Corruption 4: Communist insurgency 5: Over Population 6: Education. Solutions 1: Population control in Bihar Bill. 2: Divide Bihar into 4 parts. 3: Make those parts of the Bihar Union territory. 4: Deploy Army (The only thing that is corruption-free) to control those union territory. 5: President direct rule. Democracy destroyed Bihar only President's rule can control Bihar.
@@stoicstone521 I totally agree that we are democracy but I have one point if view that if government keeps changing, won't it affect projects that are going on, I mean just for a comparison of mindset of leaders, if there is a king he knows that he don't have to use his brain for winning elections and he just have to focus on the nation/state/kingdom development, but in democracy their focus is divided into winning elections and development and implementation and while implementing if someone becomes unhappy they have to think for the vote that whether they will get that vote or not, they could loose next time because they are loosing voters, and undoubtedly everyone loves to be in power. This was just my point of view, I just wanted some views of others as a solution for these points, can you provide some.
@@hUnterrr384 yeah , what you said is true . If new party comes in power then they cancel projects of previous government many times . But what need to change is mindsets of political parties not the system itself
@@stoicstone521 yeah definitely, we never have to change the system, democracy is best. But we need some reforms in them or at least reforms in society, societal thinking. We need ethics in governance, I know the concept is already there, that's why I said we need reforms. We all know that our constitution is complete and has everything but issue is that not everything is being followed. So we need a solution for that problem. And according to me privatisation is never a good solution for this problem as many people suggest. I mean we can adopt some method that is being used in private firms the one that are good but all authority should be with government only, again the reason being same government is for people but private organisations are definitely not for people, so we should think of developing some new approach rather than comfortably transferring everything to private firms.
Same for West Bengal. There are many potential Mechanical Engineers in West Bengal, but at the end they have to look for placement elsewhere such as Bangalore, Foreign, etc.

There could be automobile industry, tourism industry in Sunderban and tiger reserves and darjling area .. There could be anything from airspace to train coaches or bikes not for india only they can export.. bangalis have money too unlike biharis ..
What about shiping industry ?? As our government is moving for water transportation... Bangal have advantage to build a shipping industry.. They can make boats which can travel in rivers .. There are many kinds of boats , jets , transportation boats and passenger boats .. You guys can import old cruise and with some modifications.. You guys can make a cruise tourism as well .. From calcuta to Chennai , calcuta to thailand or Indonesia.. There is huge local ship industry in Bangladesh too ..

Yes, he maybe a bit odd politician (like any other politician) but he did genuinely tried to do better and had a good vision of state's future

I had entered Bihar for its cheap labor before covid , had a lot of hopes but now I hate it to my core. There was an ambience of contradiction created among the people. Some industries started closing from there,
And then came Lalu's Jungle Raj government, in which big traders, engineers, industrialists etc started being looted or ransom was demanded from them, for fear of which no big industrialist started coming here.

Bihar's way out is to develop high-end manufacturing industries, educational hubs using Nalanda card and promoting its history so that a positive and respectful attitude is developed towards the state.
High-end manufacturing is not a viable solution because
1) huge investment needed for sophisticated capital and machinery which nobody will do in Bihar given the vasooli reputation
2) requirement of either very skilled labor which bihar lacks, or employment of sophisticated machinery which ultimately means not many jobs created
3) tha Nalanda card isn’t a viable strategy.
You tax the rich and provide subsidies to poor
You have caste problems ?

Hello
I m from Bihar I have been thinking about this topic for a long time because of this only the overdependence on public sector reduces opportunity for common bihar and invites corruption . That's why bihari people either migrate or suffer for 5-6year for a single exam to judge their future
I am from Bihar too and I live in US. I have lived most of my life outside of Bihar for Education and jobs.. Caste and corruption are major issues in Bihar. I am Hindu and I am planning to get married to Christian girl from America and can't wait to see the drama it goona create in my family and the society. But i am not afraid and willing to fight for what is right. If i can change the mentality of one people that is enough for me.

I was coming to Delhi today for joining back the job I'm unwilling to do, Though, i get a handsome salary at an early age but whenever I go back to my State I feel sorry for ourselves. I love the river shores, the jungles, butterflies and the soft smell of mud from the river bay but unfortunately they don't long last as I have to keep my body and soul together and for that I need to work, lost my father my mother and grandmother are the only two living there , I am so unfortunate that I can't express the love I've for them.

Its 2022 and yet till now Bihari people are coming to my state for small works. such a pity for hardworking people, i know this info. Ideally there should be no discrimination, No preference, Reservations for anyone, just pure merit based on talent or else system can not perform, In this country where i live, Talent is the only thing that matters. I wish i will be proved wrong but somewhere in my heart i know that until Bihari people leave caste based politics out ,Bihar will Remain like this.
This happens in Bihar and many eastern states which have communist influence. These radicals encourage people to capture lands in name of justice this indirectly leads to investment not coming.

Exactly
