I used to build models all the time as a teenager. Got back into it last year, now in my 40's. I'm not at all interested in any Nissan cars, but I still watch every build video on this channel because of the attention to detail. Although I will admit to skipping ahead on vehicles I don't care for, I still want to see the finale!
Ok that’s it I’m sold I have the other two releases ( the eclipse and Supra kits and I love em ) so I’m gonna get one of these cause yours looks excellent!
Interesting to see which kinds of kits are "trending" on your channel = views + likes + comments Chris! Sometimes surprising which ones get greatest response!
I know my weekend has started when I get home on a Friday, grab a coffee and watch the latest build on hpiguys and just de-stress before starting on my latest build.
My pleasure great job i like wat root u went with the build leaving the blue casting color was rite and making it pop with the black hood an spoiler also mirrors u made those wheels look great, 👍thanks for sharing,, Keith
I love the blue color. Just not a fan of the oversized wheels. Looks a bit toyish to me. I like the Veilside wide body kit, just needs slightly smaller wheels and wider tires. Looks like a decent kit. Nicely done.
Nice work, sir! While I'm glad that Round 2 reissued this kit, I wish the wheel stance and fitment were better out of the box. The wheels sitting so deep in the fender flares really fouls up the look of the car. If I find a copy of the kit in the wild, I'll likely look into widening that stance.
do you sand your parts before you paint them/ hit it with primer? I just bought this kit today as my first model kit and am watching this as a guide on what to do
Nope. I don't stress sanding and all that perfectionism. I just want to make a model and have fun. See my video on painting with cheap spray cans for advice on painting the way I choose to paint.
I want to try a trick I saw for simulating carbon fiber with a nylon sock, and I think that oil rubbed bronze would be an excellent base coat. Hit it with black and then clear coat the whole thing....hmmm
Another great build! Ive noticed most of the time you use glosscote you brush it on. Wouldnt it be easier to spray? Does it dry smooth with no brushstrokes? Just wondering🤔
In the time it takes to get out the airbrush, thin the glosscote so it sprays well, clean the airbrush and dry it off, I've been done brush painting the parts and they are dry 20 minutes ago. You can see in the video there are no brush marks, it self levels.
I don't really show the tools, it's all basic stuff, xacto knife, etc. I show the Future application in dozens of videos, feel free to search the channel home page for future or polish to see how easy it is. Thanks!
I wish AMT wouldn't mold the window plastic with the side windows sealed up. I cut the window open on the Ford 600 Hostess truck and that was tricky trying not to damage everything. I built the 2016 Camaro SS (which I own a real 2019 Camaro SS) and I wanted to cut the side windows off but didn't know how to without damaging everything else. Anyone have a good idea?
Hey where can I find a bottle of that testers gloss coat that you brush on I don't have any hobby shops near me I have to order everything but I looked on Amazon and couldn't find it
Hi Chris! Great job as always. Question, what determines when you use superglue vs. regular modeling glue when you're doing your models? maybe you mentioned this, but in all the videos I've watched, I haven't caught this.
Hmmm...that body kit has the good beginnings of a race car build... Once again, you got the gears in my head turning...🤔 Quick question though. Every time I use craft paints, they tend to come out gloppy, like they're the consistency of pancake batter. But from the looks of the seat padding you managed to get it nice and smooth and level just by brushing--how do you do that?
As someone who own's 2 Z's with this EXACT kit on it... (tears up)... Beautiful. I am ordering the model kit now. Thanks for this!
Thanks a lot! Share pics of your real one on the FB page so people can get ideas!
We would love to see a video of you scraping out the paint booth. Nice build by the way,
I wouldn't worry too much about paint on a paint booth, but you gotta do what you gotta do.
Thanks!
Chris = hardest working man in the
modeling world
Well thank you!
You seen clayclaim yet?
Very Sweet build. I'm not into newer cars as I am the classics, but that is a damn nice model.
Thanks!

He does not disappoint!
Chris the more JDM/90's stuff the happier I am man! Keep it up and merry xmas.
Thanks TJ!
Very cool! Love it. Reminds me of the 90's, lol. You did a excellent job on this model.
Thank you very much!
I've seen the yellow and blue used before in simulating heat in the exhaust, but never done with a brush. Your a micheleangelo! Great tip.
Thank you!

Carbon Fiber hood effect AND brake details - NICEZ

Never disappointed after the video!!

I'm not a big fan of most jdm cars but damn that would be a 6 figure car in my opinion. Bad ass job. I really can't wait for the next video
Man I enjoy your work please keep them coming 🙏
More to come!
NICELY DONE ✅.
👍👍👍👍👍👍
Great work as always.
What a cool kit .

Sweet build Chris, wonderful presentation as always!
Thank you kindly!
Nice model kit. I love the Japanese cars in American model style. Great build.
Right on!
Awesome looking car!
I think so too!
Wonderful work! That is beautiful color.
Thank you very much!

Nice looking car - another great build.
Glad you like it!
Nicely done on the hood and rear fin in that "carbon look" oil rubbed bronze color. That skid plate in what looks like gun metal? Nice touch.
Thank you!
Great build, I like how you use tight as an adjective. Must be a midwestern thing, I grew up in Illinois lol
Or 'tits'! Thanks!
@@hpiguy yeah used that word alot and still do lol
Awesome always likes this baby style
Thanks Sam!

@@hpiguy Thanks :)
Has AMT ever issued the 350Z in stock form ?
As far as I know it was only these Fast and Furious tie-ins.
I did review the Tamiya Z, which is a great model.
@@hpiguy Thank you

I see a Tuner in the near future with this kit!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 👍 👍 👍 😉
Enjoy!
Thank you for your videos love them
Thanks for watching!
Love your work, quick question. Why the Testors gloss coat instead of future on your interior pieces?
I have a ton of it I bought way back, using it up.
Hey where can I find a bottle of that testers gloss coat that you brush on I don't have any hobby shops near me I have to order everything but I looked on Amazon and couldn't find it
Google is your friend. Search Testors Glosscote bottle.

Bare plastic to bare plastic gets model glue.
Glass gets mod podge.
Anything else gets super glue.
Thanks!

I shake them really well with my shaker (see paint shaker video) and rarely have an issue brushing them.
Nice, Job..
Tip the RHD 350z / fairlady JDM in RHD has the same center console as USA spec LHD . .
I wish it was like the model .
Wow this is amazing the funny thing I was a trying to decide if I wanted that wing or not but I got a different type of wing
Enjoy it! Have fun customizing!
Any chance you can measure the wheel base of the body ?
Hey, Chris, been watching your videos for awhile. What are those neat stands for holding parts while you paint? Where would I find those?
tamiya

@@hpiguy Great! Thanks.
Gonna try and slap this on a WLToys K969
Blue metal flake makes it look like the old MPC kits.
I'm digging how nice just the plastic was!
Like how you just used blue and black. Any of the decals may have drawn to much attention, any possible draw away from the beautiful body lines.
I agree!
Good video😊😊
Thanks 😁
love the Japanese sport cars. came out really nice. too bad there is no stock version in this kit, nice for AMT kit
tamiya has several
Right on!
i think i would do mine in matt grey
Enjoy!
Look's cool 👍
Thanks!
