I built this kit late last year as the third in my return to the craft after 30 years when me and my late brother built 100s of kits a children. I painted mine flat white with black interior. I used the 20" rims and tires and it turned out great. The use of the orange sharpie to simulate wood grain is genius. I'll be utilizing that tip along with the use of the silver metallic sharpie and white pencil tips I learned in some of your other videos. Great build, I love the colors. Happy to find and follow your channel with all the new techniques I'm like a kid again enjoying the craft. Thanks!
I hate it when those wing nuts get loose and the alligator clips move on you. 😄 One of my coworkers back in the day had one of these Escalades. He said chicks would fight to jump into his ride. 🤠
Pretty cool looking kit. Wanted to add for feedback some of these videos have been real long and almost hard to watch it all. Hopefully positive feedback, ill continue to watch your channel. Thanks for bringing these to us to watch
Still have two of these(real ones). Awesome do-it-all vehicles. The kit was pretty cool, too, except the firewall required quite a bit of surgery to the bottom.
Memories! Have a diecast 18th scale one on my shelf with those 24" rims that had spinning centres that were all the rage among rappers and other entertainers when these were new in the early 2000s. Has it really been that long?
I like the color scheme that you went with. Just enough contrasting colors to make it look really sharp. I like the orange Sharpie for the wood grain idea. I have the Escalade (Tahoe style) sitting on the shelf waiting to go together. I'm thinking that I'm going to order the EXT to go with it. The front suspension looked like it was giving you some issues going together. I'm pleased to see an AMT kit without a ton of warp in it. The last three AMT kits that I've built have been a challenge to put together due to warp.
Nice buddy, real cool! I always liked the Escalade and Avalanche, speaking of, wished they would come out with a Avalanche kit, I know, the Escalade and Avalanche are one in the same, almost, there are some differences though, anyhow, nice job as always! Now I got to get me one!! 👍👍🤘✌️
I stopped and rewatched you build the Ford Model T from 1917. ONE HUNDRED and FIVE YEARS OLDER than this contemporary Cadillac Escalade. "We" the motoring public, have come a long way in just a hundred years. From doing battle against ruts and fields just to drive to town in the "T" in the early 1900's to the push button convenience of the pillow smooth rides of today. This build underscores that leap in technology and the engineering we humans are famous for. So far, no Giraffes have built even a wagon, let alone a Cadillac Escalade.
Revell U.S.A has a kit that is similar to this one;this is the perfect kit for kit bashing with the Revell U.S.A kit,to build a unique model;as both the AMT and Revell U.S.A Cadillac Escalade kits, are in 1/25 scale.
Note for future reference; LS truck engines are all silver(bare aluminum) unless they have the cast iron block, which is black and everything else is raw..
Already have an idea for when I get one a Cadillac EXT lifted mud truck throw a little bit of Backwoods into it
Good idea, I 4x4 all kinds of kits 1:03:59

Really a well-detailed kit. I had an ‘03 Escalade for a flip a few months last year, great car far past my expectations.

I never thought of using sharpies to do door handles and trim around the windows
Another nice build :)
Sharp looking Cadillac
I built a lowrider one and monster truck from this. There are no limits to how we build our models . Keep on building . Love your vids Chris.
Nice looking kit!
Why dont you paint the hood with the body?
Chris that was an awesome build!! Love the colors and details!
I've always called these the Escalanche since it's a platform mate of the Avalanche. I found the previous version of this at Ollie's for $9.99.

The DUBS and LS engine are worth getting this kit for. Save them for another project.
