Off Road Camping And Canoeing In My 4x4 Safari Van

  • In this video I go off road camping in my 1998 lifted 4x4 GMC Safari van. This trip is exactly what I envisioned when I built this van. Taking me and my canoe off the beaten path to a beautiful mountain surrounded lake, and a private beach campsite. How good is that? First of all this video starts with me deflating my tires as I hit gravel, then it shows me driving my van offroad and through the forest to my absolutely awesome private beach campsite. Once I'm there I check out it out for a bit, then eventually I turn this episode into a cooking show, where I cook up some Italian sausage tortellini with broccoli. It was so delicious. After dinner I wrapped it up for the night, and in the morning I ate some breakfast and went canoeing. The canoe was supposed to be a stunning trip around the lake, but as soon as I got to the far end, the wind picked up. Then it continued to get worse. It wasn't crazy bad, but it definitely was sketchier than I would of liked. I was so happy once I made it back to shore. It was a weird way to end "my perfect vanlife", but nothing is really perfect is it?

5... Seeing you asked. I usually have five different cheeses in my camping rig. A block of cheddar for munching on. Sliced American for burgers. Shredded monterey jack for eggs. Shredded mozzarella for salads. And finally string cheese to hide my dog's Prozac in.

That's wild. I'm definitely one block at a time in the van. I use old or extra old cheddar for everything. Maybe if I was doing something really specific, like trying to make pizza on a fire with mozzarella, I just go old cheddar across the board. Cheese slices, burgers, eggs, tacos, and my dog loves old cheddar too.

@@SARGEinc if I'm going to run out of cheese it's not going to be the cheddar. That is a good all-around cheese to have. It's even good if you're making an impromptu Pizza.

Thank you, I have more canoeing videos coming. I love my Solitude. It's definitely served me well, but admittedly I don't have a lot to compare it to.

looks like a great spot! you have to wonder wth the mosquitoes are eating on when humans aren't around! I've been in places with zero animals or humans but they are everywhere?

They might just die and just keep replenishing themselves😂.
I'm going to do the Bowron Lakes starting July 4th, and last time I was there around this time, it reset how bad I thought mosquitos could be. I'm pretty worried about it.
