Briiliant video, very informative as ever. love your hoola hooping 🤪🤪
Thanks for your comment! Hopefully, my hoola hooping skills are not wasted 🤣🤣!
Fowler’s the main man. This info should be compulsory teaching at school.
Ha, I wish I was the main man! Thanks for your comment 👍
This stuff is underrated I think because there's a lot of misconceptions about it
I agree, it's widely used in new builds and has been for years. Everything has its place, but this is ideal for DIY plumbing. Thanks for your comment 👍
Love JG speed fit. So easy to use👍🏼👌
Yeah they are so easy and with the superseal inserts I think they are market leaders.
Hi Steve that's great advice xx
Insert without O ring (non super seal) is to be used with compression fittings
Thanks for the info!
@FixitwithFowler oh I'm not a plumber but just observed that may be a possibility. What you reckon? Or you could have cut a little bit of the cistern away to get angled fitting out and install new one with bigger washer if needed. If the water ever got that high it gonna leak out top anyways.
Very good video. When you say there is a lifetime, why is that, do the metal grips in the pipe corrode, or does the plastic material begin to perish or something like that?
I think it's the rubber o ring that will eventually fail.
These use the same edpm o rings as pressfit do, if plumbers are widely using press fit fittings I would expect John guest and hep20 to last well beyond the guarantee. I used to work in maintenance engineering and most of the pneumatic fittings were john guest push fit. They never really gave any problems.
That's good to know, thanks for your comment 👍
